hi, what are the settings to get a gallery exactly like this http://cl.ly/0K091G2J0M2f , many thanks
Hi.
These are actually just examples of the “Single Image” module with the caption enabled.
What are you trying to do exactly? Total does have an “Image Grid” Visual Composer module you can use to add images anywhere on the site in a nice grid.
- AJ
hi AJ, im trying to create the exactly same image grid you have on demo site instead of a portfolio grid linked to posts, i would actually use the portfolio grid but it only allows to link to posts of lightbox and i want it to link to a page.
Sorry I don’t understand what you mean. By default the portfolio grid links to the portfolio posts. Example: http://totaltheme.wpengine.com/nouveau/portfolio/
It only links to lightbox when you have selected that specific setting: http://cl.ly/2c2r3E3b1C39
Hello. I like your Theme. Can you please tell me if it integrates with the WP Charitable crowd funding plugins?
Hi there,
I have not personally tested that plugin. But any well coded plugin should work with any theme. If you have any issues with the plugin you should be able to seek help from the plugin developer and if the issue is theme-related by any chance I’ll be happy to help with any needed fixes.
Is this the one you are thinking of using? https://wordpress.org/plugins/charitable/
- AJ
Hi. Yes, that is the correct Plugin. Ok, thank you for your response.
I’ll add it to my todo list to test out the plugin as it looks very nice (maybe even make a demo with it). If you try it and have any issues just let me know!
- AJ
Ok, thank you. Yes, that would be awesome if you are able to do that.
On pages where the content is very short there is a noticeable gap in the footer because presumably there isn’t enough height to push the footer to the bottom. Is there a fix for this? http://cl.ly/0e3A1U2b2Y21
That is correct, there Footer is at the bottom of your content not at the bottom of the browser. But there is a built-in option to fix it at the bottom
Customize > Footer Widgets > Fixed Footer
Awesome, thanks!
Of course
I have followed all of the instructions for enabling blog comments. Still nothing. Does their need to be a plugin to allow the comments in?
Hi,
Blog comments are enabled by default in the theme.
I added a little doc page that should be very helpful: http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs/comments-not-working-blog-posts/
Please let me know if you need any further help with that and if you still can’t get them working!

I do kindly ask that you purchase a support license or another copy of the theme (that will also give you 6 month support license) if it has expired. I spend a lot of time and money supporting the product. Thank you!
Hello,
A few questions:
1) is it possible to fit the toggle menu within the boxed layout? 2) Is it possible to disable the logo in overlay transparent header, but still show the logo when scrolling/ shows the white header? the logo is hard to see when the transparent background is active. 3) Is there more documentation on the Top Bar-Content? I would like to place other links and images, including a logo with retina support. 4) I couldn’t make a button to work over a video in slider revolution. If it works, it’s not clickable on the entire surface of the button. Any idea? 5) is parallax supported on a slider? I turn it on but nothing happens.
The website: http://cromo3d.com/
Thanks.
Anything? thanks.
Hi,
Sorry for the delay I must have missed this comment!
1. Sorry I am not sure what you mean by “toggle menu”.
2. This isn’t possible yet. I am working on a new sticky function though for the next big update so you can hide the header completely on the overlay then display it when you scroll. Currently it’s not possible.
3. Here is the guide for the top bar content – http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs/change-top-bar-content-phone-number-text-etc/
You can add links and images via HTML or you can create a new regular page and add anything you want them enter the “ID” for that page into the Top Bar content field in the Customizer and it will display the content from your page (which you can make using the Visual Composer).
4. The button isn’t clickable because the header is on top of it – http://cl.ly/331h0w3d3k0q – if you are adding buttons and such to your slider I wouldn’t recommend using the Header Overlay function.
5. Yes, here is an example of how the parallax works – https://revolution.themepunch.com/wordpress-3d-parallax/
ps: If you can please submit 1 question per comment that would be best it would make things a lot easier for me and you but also for other customers searching for similar answers – thanks!!
- AJ
1- Sorry, I meant the toggle bar. Any way to place that triangle with the plus sign within the boxed layout?
3- Great. I didn’t know I could use HTML in the Customizer text field. As for using a page, just placing the ID doesn’t seem to do anything. Do I need to place the page ID within a specific piece of code? I really don’t get it.
4-Oh! Thanks.
5. Thanks, but I was referring not to parallax within the slider, but like this (where the next row overlaps the slider at scroll-down): http://www.pixedelic.com/themes/geode/transparent/
For the PS: Sorry. Will do that next time.
1. Oh yes, but it requires some custom code in your child theme to un-hook and re-hook it plus some CSS to alter the positioning. To be honest it’s kind of a big edit. What are you planning on adding inside the toggle bar? Maybe I can suggest something better. I’ll be honest I added it because potential customers like it but these toggle bars aren’t very user friendly and are not good for SEO.
3. Placing the ID won’t do anything in the Customizer because it’s using javascript to render the field (I am changing that for the next update) you would have to save and preview it live. Please try and let me know if you have any issues: http://cl.ly/0W0x1W2v183z
5. Ah ok. So that site actually uses a whole crap ton of CSS to achieve that. It’s actually a bit tricky you have to position the slider in a fixed position and add top padding to the site equal to the height of the slider. The problem is it’s going to be pretty hard to do on the boxed layout. May I recommend maybe instead using a static image then you can apply the ‘bg-fixed’ class to it like this: http://cl.ly/3j3f1J2n2Z21
Or you can use the slider with a background image but it must be set to background attachment: fixed; – http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/pr_background-attachment.asp
With the video it’s going to be quite tricky (this isn’t technically called parallax, parallax is where items move with the scroller or mouse movement).
Thanks for the thorough response.
1- Why is it not good for SEO? I was still thinking on having it as is (so not boxed).
3- I tried, but what I see is the ID as text at the top bar. So if the ID is 600, it displays the text “600” in the top bar. Is there code I need to use to specify that the ID is actually an ID and not just text?
1 – Because you are adding duplicate content on every page of your site. If it’s a little bit of text or something you add then it’s ok, but if it’s a lot of content and depending what it is it can hurt SEO.
3 – Did you actually save the top bar content in the Customizer and refresh the live site. I have confirmed locally and live that there isn’t any issues on the latest version of the theme with this functionality. If everything up to date? http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/changelog/
I have tried to install the theme 3 different times. Each attempt results in an error that requires me to delete the theme from the database. Please let me know if anyone else has reported a similar issue.
Can you please tell me what error you get so I can assist?

Hi. I have a question.
A while ago, I purchased the “Total” Wordpress theme from an Iranian developer, who has added some additional localized features (like RTL and proper persian language support) to the theme. It has also support for updates. I purchased the theme there because I really needed the localized features.
I wanted to know that is this legal? Will there be a problem for me if I use this theme on a server? And what about the included plugins like Visual Composer? Am I using those legally?
Thank you in advance.
Hi,
Unfortunately this is not legal, sorry
Also the Total theme already includes RTL support, localized .mo/.po files and full support for translation plugins like WPML by default. So I am not sure what that person even did to the theme…
If you do wish to the theme I encourage you to purchase it legally and if you do have any issues please let me know and I’ll be happy to help you out!
AJ. I’m having an issue with the Post Type Slider. The images are outside a little bit from the limits. I tried to crop the image width in the image settings, but nothing happens. Only the image crop heigh works. All the images have 854×480 pixels. (http://i.imgur.com/Oi4eGL6.png)
I’ll be happy to help but you need to share the URL so I can look. Also please tell me what browser you are looking in so I can test in the same browser. Thank you!

The content on the headers (slider revolution) on mobile ends up interfering with each other. Is there something I can do about that?http://archwaysrecoverycenters.com/
Looks normal on regular size, but when I view on mobile, the content starts to intersect.
This seems to be caused mostly by the button (Learn More) do you mind showing me a screenshot of how you are adding those buttons? Thanks!
I ended up removing the phone numbers form the slides so it is no longer a problem. But I have do have a couple of other issues on the mobile display:
1.) the phone number at the top of the screen is showing up in grey, it should be white, like it is on the site.
2.) The learn more buttons on the slide show are really big when compared with the other text on the slides, which is very strange. (the ratio is different on the website), I can send you a screen shot on how I am setting up the buttons, can you send me an email to send to?
3.) On the ‘Our Addiction Recovery Promise’ section the content is not centered, it is off to the right, how can I change this for mobile?
4.) The text: ‘Stacey Smith, PhD, CSAT is intersecting.
5.) The phone number at the bottom of the screen is also grey and should be white.
Thanks so much for all of your help, we are very excited to finalize everything on this site, your theme is amazing!!!
~ Jaclyn
Hi Jaclyn,
1. Looks good now, I’m going to assume you fixed it?
2. Do you mean on mobile? If so, honestly I would recommend replacing the slider on mobile to actually speed things up, sliders are cool but almost useless on mobile devices. Which can be done like this – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcZbB6GaETg
If you want to tweak the button instead I would need to see how it was added to revolution slider. You may want to try adding a new button (without edits) to see if you have the same results.
3. The way you have done it makes it impossible to “center it. You may be able to achieve a similar look using a row inside a row. But I’m still not 100% sure if that would work to get that split column look and have the content still setup properly to match the site container width.
4. Looks like it has a line-height set to 50% via the module settings. Remove the custom line-height or tweak it. If you are using a percentage it should be 100% or greater. But best to use em or px values.
5. Phone # looks good to me know. If it was gray before it was likely because it’s a link (could be a link for you if you have certain programs on your site like skype) in which case you may need to adjust your link colors for the site or the section.
awesome thank you, good idea on removing header from mobile. On # 5 the grey numbers are on the mobile version, not the desktop, is that what you checked?
On #4, I am a bit confused on where the line height is set. Can’t find it in the element editing area, the first container of that element or the greater row container. Which section is this in?
I would like to change the font color on my main menu, but I have looked everywhere and I can’t find it. I even looked in Topography – Menus and Header – Menus.
Appearance > Customizer > Header > Menu. I actually made this small video for someone else today: http://cl.ly/0e2S0u043M1k
Should help you locate the right place
Thanks.
This is weird. I thought that was where you had to go to change the font color, but it won’t change, it stays a dirty white color. The other buttons work, or at least the ones I tried.
I was wondering why it would change colors for me so I went back to my Custom CSS and removed what I needed to move the Nav Bar
body .navbar-style-one { top: auto; margin-top: 0; bottom: -136px; }
And once it was removed the Nav Bar stayed like I had not removed the above CSS.
I did install the child theme, could this make this happen? Or could it be a plugin that could cause that? Thanks.
Curt
Okay, the CSS worked correctly, but I still can’t change the color of the font.
Are you by any chance using the Overlay Header style? http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs/overlay-header/
If so this header style has it’s own styles the only way to customize it with the Customizer is by selecting this style for it – http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2016/03/overlay-default-styles.png
The reasoning for this is because most the time a site will only have the overlay header on a few pages and you want to be able to customize the design for the rest of the site but still make sure the overlay header menu is visible.
If this isn’t the case and you aren’t using that header style I have no way of knowing what could be wrong without looking at your site because there aren’t any known bugs. You may want to consider setting up a live stagging site you can use to show me if you have any issues.
Forget about everything I said I don’t know what the problem was but it had something to do with MAMP, I was locked out of most places on my site and I there was some type of error with the database with MAMP.
Since I know very little about developing I just deleted the entire thing and I will reinstall MAMP, once I figure how I did it the first time, and then reinstall Total Theme.
I don’t know, but maybe when I tried out X Theme things got messed up. We live and learn.
I believe the problem was with MAMP because before I tried out X Theme the only problems I had with Total Theme was understanding it, it never failed me.
I will rebuild tomorrow and I’ll let you know if I have any problems, but I don’t expect to have any. Thanks.
It is possible. Some themes do make some hardcore tweaks. I never do that with Total. Also some things completely tweak the included plugins like the Visual Composer (which I don’t do with Total) so if you by any chance installed the Visual Composer via X-theme be sure to remove it and install the one included with Total which is 100% un-edited.
Just let me know if you do have further questions/issues! I did reply to your last comment about 3 minutes ago incase you didn’t see it
- AJ
I deleted the entire database of my site that I was building and even removed MAMP from my Mac and I’ll reinstall it tomorrow.
And yes, it seems that Total is very clean.
I’m trying to move my menu down. I had talked to you about this before and you told me to place the following in the Custom CSS and it worked, but now for some reason it doesn’t work. Is there something I need to activate for it to work? I am using Style 1
body .navbar-style-one {
top: auto;
margin-top: 0;
bottom: 20px;
}
You’ll need to share a link to your site so I can see. It’s possible other modifications are causing an issue.
I’m doing this on my Local WordPress so how can I show it to you?
Can you at least share a screenshot with the browser inspector open?
The CSS is correct, I made a little video to show you – http://cl.ly/1l2V3g0V2R0E
If you are customizing your site locally then you should have some basic understanding of CSS/HTML and be able to inspect the element to see why it isn’t working. I highly recommend you check out the Chrome dev tools – https://developer.chrome.com/devtools – it can help a lot.
- AJ
I got it, I had to make the bottom negative.
I was going to reinstall MAMP, but AMPPS seems a lot better so I downloaded that but when I tried in installable Total Theme I got the following message:
Warning: POST Content-Length of 14604132 bytes exceeds the limit of 8388608 bytes in Unknown on line 0
I don’t know if the problem is with Total or more than likely with AMPPS. I emailed them and I’m waiting to hear back (there is no support with MAMP).
Have a look here – http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11719495/php-warning-post-content-length-of-8978294-bytes-exceeds-the-limit-of-8388608-b
If you just google “AMPPS Warning: POST Content-Length” it’s the first thing that pops up
Thanks.
I looked into that but it is just way to much for me. I am not a developer, and I can’t find how to change the size. AMPPS did let me know that they got my email so I figure Monday they’ll tell me what to do, and if they don’t then I’ll just go back and use MAMP.
I use MAMP Pro – never had any issues
I’ve read that there really isn’t a difference between MAMP and MAMP PRO. Is there?
There are more advanced options in Mamp Pro, but honestly not too sure. I have never used the “free” version.
Hi – I can’t make a tickets since the system to login is down – so I hope you can help me here: I would hear if it is possible to show products with lazy-load instead of pagination? Eg. on this site: https://kalundborg-skov-park-have.dk/produkt-kategori/walk-behind/plaeneklippere/
The support site is working well for me now, but of course I am happy to help here!
The theme doesn’t have built-in support but you can try this plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/yith-infinite-scrolling/

Is it possible to have product details like at http://totaltheme.wpengine.com/base/shop/accessories/artsy-round-sunglasses/ go from tabs to accordion on mobile?
No that isn’t possible tabs and accordions work very different and require different placements of the HTML as well as extra javascript to toggle them back and forth when switching screens-size, it’s actually a massive customization of the way WooCommerce works.
Total removes the tabs and displays all the content for mobile devices, which I believe is probably the most user-friendly for visitors.
I have done it myself on a site where I have NextGen Galleries with jquery ui tabs with some extra information on resorts. There I managed to load the details in tabs inside accordion elements for mobile. And looks really nice and people can click on an item they would like to see. Have not seen a theme with WooCommerce where the same is done though. Principle should be the same though..
Yes with jQuery UI tabs it would be a bit easier to accomplish this but WoooCommerce uses it’s own tab functionality – https://github.com/woothemes/woocommerce/blob/master/assets/js/frontend/single-product.js
Of course it is still possible, but will require custom javascript to add it which isn’t something I can help with as it will take a long time to create the custom code for this.
- AJ
OK, understood. Thanks. Will look into this code at WC in detail some time soon. Do love the solution with accordion for mobile.
I agree that would be pretty cool! Definitely something that could be toggled on/off in WooCommerce, that would be nice
Hello. One pre-purchase question:
Does this theme also include the VC Ultimate Addons? I mean, is it included with the purchase?. Thanks!
Hi,
No the VC Ultimate Addons isn’t included with the purchase. Of course you are welcome to purchase that plugin and use it with the theme if you wish! But if you have any issues with the plugin you will need to seek support from them.
Please let me know if you have any further questions!

Hi, trying to remove fields from the staff post type with the help of http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/snippets/adding-fields-page-settings/ but where can I find the field names ? I was looking at this http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/snippets/meta-shortcode/ but the file mentioned here doesn´t exist?
Thanks for the heads up, I will update the snippet. The correct location is at framework/classes/metabox. But you can also see the ID in the source-code : http://cl.ly/3L3f233g1n1U (field name/id).
- AJ
Perfect, thanks!
Following your example/screenshot I´m trying: unset( $array‘main’[‘wpex_main_layout’] ); (to remove Site layout -metabox) but it´s not working?
The correct code would be this:
function my_wpex_metabox_array( $array ) {
unset( $array['main']['settings']['main_layout'] );
return $array;
}
add_filter( 'wpex_metabox_array', 'my_wpex_metabox_array' );
Hello, I am trying to embed an external webpage in a page of my own website, using their own plugin (which provides shortcode for embedding). However, after adding the shortcut, the embedded webpage is broken. Any suggestion?
You’ll need to seek help from the plugin developer as I have no idea what plugin you are using and/or how it’s coded.
But to me It sounds like you are getting some sort of PHP error on the site when using their shortcode. You can enable WP_Debug to see what that error may be – http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs/enabling-wp-debug/ – which can help troubleshoot the problem.
You could also try a different plugin instead to see if that one doesn’t have issues.
- AJ
Hello, I found the problem, it happened because my Website is https but the embedded site is http. So my browser is blocking some non encrypted content from the embedded site.
Oh yes, that would do it
I’m trying to implement my posts page into my website. The content on the posts page has no padding and I have no idea how to insert that padding.. It’s not letting me edit the page through visual composer. Also, I’m having trouble editing the sidebar on each individual post page.
Hi,
I am not quite sure what you mean by “has no padding” can you please share the URL?
The “Posts Page” is an archive so you can’t edit it with the Visual Composer as it’s not a real page. If you want to make a posts page with the Visual Composer you need to go to Settings > Reading and make sure it’s not the posts page, then either use a VC module such as the “Blog Grid” to display your items or use the “Blog” template for that page then you can insert content above the posts with the Composer.
Not sure what you mean by “editing the sidebar on each individual post page.” Your sidebars are global so you would add your widgets are Appearance > Widgets.
If you want custom sidebars for various posts/pages/categories please see here – http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs/custom-sidebars-advanced/

Could you please tell me how to center the total buttons with css? I have two buttons aligned to the left and right at the moment by using the settings in VC. I would like to have them centered on mobile. I understand the media queries to target mobile but I can’t figure out the code to use.
Thank you.
Hi,
Can you please share the URL with the buttons so I can have a look at how things are setup? Any reason not to center them by default (desktop and mobile).
Sorry I can’t disclose my url just yet. I am trying to get two buttons in line with each other and centered. As soon as I center them they stack on top of each other.
So I created two columns and have one aligned right in the first column and the other button aligned left in the second column.
What do you think is the best way to get it done?
The buttons will always stack on top of each other while in the front-end editor because the the Visual Composer works by draggging/dropping sections they can’t be side-to-side in the actual front-end editor but on the live site they will be next to each other. Make sense?
I made a little video for you I hope it helps!
http://cl.ly/2j0M3w2I1g1UThanks, I needed to use the class textcenter. I kept trying to center the buttons using the button alignment settings and it wasn’t working. Cheers!
Oh yes, the center setting in the option will wrap the button in a block then center just that button.
Sorry for any confusion! I hope you are having a great weekend
- AJ
Sorry to bother you again … Now, I have an issue with the image LayerSlider … There is a space on the right of the image and I have no idea to how remove it … I even met a comparison with one of my other website which use Total but I didn’t find the solution …
Please share the URL so I can have a look, thanks!
Hi,
In “Dezignr” demo, you can not navigate through the menu once in the blog.
Eg.: http://totaltheme.wpengine.com/dezignr/2016/03/#hello
Best regards.
Thanks. I will update the demo right now. We weren’t planning on anyone actually testing the demo and looks like my partner forgot to remove the sample post
Basically the URL’s right now in the header are local like this ”#services” and don’t include the full url ” http://totaltheme.wpengine.com/dezignr/#team ” which does work on another pages (in fact you can click it from here and it should work).
Thanks for the heads up!
