Hey, I just clicked “update automatically” and got this message:
Updating this theme will lose any customizations you have made. ‘Cancel’ to stop, ‘OK’ to update
How do i update without losing all the customisations i have made? It would be very disappointing to lose days of work in order to run the update…
Hey – did you make modifications directly in the theme files? If so there’s no way to update without doing it manually – using a child theme for core editing is the only way to avoid this
the only modifications i have made are within the wordpress and theme options, i haven’t directly altered any code, or even added any custom css yet, so am I safe to continue?

That’s fine – your WP settings and the theme options will persist, it’s just referring to file modifications
We are running Salient 4.5.22
URL is http://rareairpark.com The issues with the website caused by the Wordpress 4.5 update are related to using nectar shortcodes for full width sections and columns, as well as the nectar slider shortcode, all in the normal Wordpress editor. I need to be able to fix just this issue, and not have to update to the new version of Salient, which will cause many other issues. Please post a solution. Can this simply be fixed by editing the VC files to use an older version of Jquery?

There’s no known jquery issue in the theme itself with 4.5 – I haven’t been able to replicate the error showing on your site. Could you please open a ticket in regards with your admin credentials so I can take a further look? https://themenectar.ticksy.com/

Support license is expired. I emailed you credentials. I suspect that many of your customers are having this issue, so you should consider taking a look. I don’t think your latest update has solved everything.
Hi my Salient theme visual composer no longer works after i Updated your theme to Salient 7.0.8 and i updated Wordpress to the new version of 4.5?. I no longer see the visual composer assets/boxes in the page builder field see here: http://prntscr.com/arwgg0? but the code is available in classic mode http://prntscr.com/arwgur? and the page is live http://goo.gl/wWStMj however, when i tried to erase all the classic mode code and add new boxes/assets in page builder mode, this option comes up see here: http://prntscr.com/arwhve? but when i click one of the options, NOTHING happens and it doesnt allow me to use the page builder any longer. lets resolve this!
Hey, you need to update your version of Salient Visual Composer to the current one (4.11.2) in your plugins tab of the admin panel in order to have compatibility with WP 4.5
OK visual composer seems appears now but when i tryed to open a row or element never load!...

Just updated to 7.0.8 and still not seeing VC elements in Page Builder view for the portfolio or for pages.

you also need to update your Salient Visual Composer in Appearance > Install Plugins after installing the latest Salient theme to get the current version of that as well
Actually the Installed Plugins does not show under Appearance. You actually have to deactivate and delete Salient Visual Composer FIRST and then you will see the Intall Plugins under Appearance. You should let others know the same so they don’t run into the same issue. Once I did this it works just fine. Thanks guys.

I mean, just upload photos, create gallery and asset theme to some page that will have set masonry style.
I am asking because to achiev this now I have to create page, insert gallery, turn on the lightbox and then create portfolio item for every photo and sorted in category.
Hey! As of now the masonry layout is only achievable with a portfolio element. You’ll have access to most the other portfolio styles and options with the image gallery though and the idea to allow masonry in that is indeed on the wishlist

Hey, all of the other portfolio styles can be chosen when you select “Image Grid Style” for the “Gallery type” in your image gallery element

WP 4.5 is not compatible with old versions of Visual Composer, an update that includes the new one will fix that. If you’re encountering issues other than editing pages with Visual Composer please share your URL
VC has been updated but we can’t use it with theme as theme author has edited the default VC files. Can the Author give us a time scale on a fix, I have a client update to complete and would rather not roll back. I am totally gob smacked the Beta has been available for over 2 weeks, there is no reason for this.

I updated to Wordpress 4.5 and then Visual Composer is not working. Pages are running well but in edtion mode I cant’see Visual Composer panels but I can HTML and Shortcodes in classic mode.

Just like @guete, I also can no longer see the Visual Composer edit panel after upgrading to the new WP version. Pages on the site run well though.
