By removing the bottom margin on the column the rows will “touch”.

1. This isn’t something built-into the theme. I actually responded to another comment about this same thing. Please have a look at your last request regarding this dropdown.
2. You can add images in this area via HTML. Log into WordPress and go to Appearance > Customize > Header > Aside Content to add extra HTML to this area. You can also use the Visual Composer and create a new page with anything you want to display here then enter the “ID” of this page into the field and it will display the Visual Composer content in this area.
Making the searchbar bigger will require some custom CSS. Do you want it longer or taller?

I purchased this template recently. I am having problems with the Slider Revolution plugin. I have added YouTube videos to the slider and they work well.
The problem arises when the slides repeat; the thumbnail for the video disappears and the video has a black screen.
For example: when I visit the site, everything works well. I see slide 1 video perfectly, then slide 2, then slide 3 then slide 4 (all work fine). Once it repeats to slide 1, the video thumbnail is gone/ blank.

This actually sounds like a bug the Slider had a few versions ago. Can you try updating your theme and plugins to the latest version. Then clearing your browser/site cache and re-testing?

Hi. I’ve just updated WP and, subsequently Total theme. Now, I am said Layerslider is no more installed and need to install. I clicked on “install” and I’ve got a fatal error:
“Fatal error: Cannot redeclare layerslider_load_lang() (previously declared in /home/.../public_html/wp-content/plugins/layerslider/layerslider.php:91) in /home/.../public_html/wp-content/plugins/LayerSlider/layerslider.php on line 121”
Also, when I try to update Visual Composer I get the following error:
“An error occurred while updating WPBakery Visual Composer: Update package not available.”
I have to mention that I am cleaning the cache both on the website and the browser after each update or installation.
Please help with these very serious issues!
Finally, I managed to solve the problem. I had to uninstall and reinstall both plugins a couple of times. Actually, for whatsoever reason, Layerslider had two installations on our website…
Now, another question. Why is the sidebar, on the product page, showing at the bottom of the page instead of on the top of it. - The LayerSlider error would happen if you had the plugin installed but under a different folder name.
- If you get the error “An error occurred while updating WPBakery Visual Composer: Update package not available” this is actually a WordPress transient error, so all you need to do is de-activate the plugin then you can update it (for future reference).
- Your sidebar has a fixed width of 250 pixels instead of a percentage (which is default) so it’s not going to be responsive and will drop down on some window sizes. The best is to use percentages for your content and sidebar widths in order to avoid this. Please check your settings in the Customizer – http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs/customize-your-layout-widths/
- You should be able to edit the font sizes on the product pages. Please make sure it’s enabled: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtwQMuT4Dho – but if you are changing your font size in many places you may want to consider going to Appearance > Customize > Typography and changing the default “Body” font size. Total uses EM values so all headings and such will “grow/shrink” depending on the main body font size.

I understand your point for the first 3 issues.
As for the last one, the problem is we don’t have the option to edit font size and type locally. I’ve watched the video you mentioned but we do not have that icon either. So, the only option is to do it on the Customizer. However, we’ll still miss the possibility to “personalize” a specific text in a specific location. We did have that option in the past but it’s disappeared at some moment. And this happens on the two websites we have with your theme…

It’s impossible for me to know why those settings are missing. Can you share a screenshot? Did you enable any plugins lately that could be breaking things – please try disabling plugins to test.
Also maybe try clearing your browser cache.

I was working on some ideas for the website you’ve been helping me with so graciously, and I was looking at a older website I was working on and noticed an odd issue with a custom footer.

Is the theme up to date on the installation where you have the error? This was an old bug where the theme wasn’t correctly loading the styles applied in the Visual Composer to elements created with the Visual Composer for the page builder but it shouldn’t be an issue in the latest version.
Everything is up-to-date, actually.
You’ll need to submit a ticket with temp FTP & WP logins so I can have a look – http://wpexplorer-themes.com/support/ – if you want you can request the ticket be forwarded to me, but it may take a bit longer for me to give you a response but my support team would likely not be able to troubleshoot this issue with as much ease since it is a bit complex.
Also make sure any cache is cleared. The theme should be adding the CSS for the Visual Composer edits made on the footer page builder page on all pages of the site in the head.

For some reason I cannot change anything on my pages, all the components to add a row or see anything is missing on all pages? What is going on ? Please help.
Something is wrong with the visual composer I believe. I deactived it and I can see the custom codes when I edit the page, but even when reactivating I cannot see anything on the page or make edits or use the visual composer. I basically cannot change or update my website. Please help.

There was a bug caused by WordPress 4.5 that could cause this but it has since been fixed.
After updating please be sure to clear all browser cache and restart your browser then test. If you still have issues after updating please let me know!
ps: The best way to update is to de-activate the visual composer, update the theme, then go to Appearance > Install plugins and update the plugins then re-activate the Visual Composer.

Hi, I have purchased this theme.
Noticed that since morning, i am not able to access the front end or backend visual composer while editing a page.
I think this happened after i updated the theme and visual composer. The current versions are :
1) Theme : Version: 3.2.0 2) Visual Composer : Version 4.11.2
The Visual Composer plugin is active.
This is a pretty serious issue since i cannot edit or update my website pages! Please advise what could be wrong. Thanks
Looks like you updated your Visual Composer and not the theme. Please make sure your theme is also up to date – http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/changelog/ – http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs-category/updates/
It’s always best to update both the theme and the Visual Composer at the same time.
After doing so clear all site/browser cache and try again. There currently aren’t any known issues with the page builder not working and it should work 100% (working on a new demo as we speak actually).

I have a text layer on a Slide (Slider Revolution) and I am trying to make it a local scroll link that will trigger a “scroll” down to the first row on that page. I read your docs and I’m a bit confused as to how to make this work. I have this working on my site already but not from a slider link. I am hoping you can walk me through it please.
From reading the doc on this, I am assuming that I’ll need to go to the “row” settings and add a local scroll id -> I’ll use “about” for this example.
So what would the url look like on that text layer in the slider??? I tried putting “#about” at the end of the url and that didn’t work.

Hi Mike,
Because the Revolution Slider uses div elements and data attributes for links and such it’s not going to work with standard methods. The best way to add it is using a link inline like this: http://cl.ly/230n3O0j2T2n
I will have a look though to see if I can include some functions in the next update so the local scroll function can also “listen” for Slider Revolution buttons/images/etc with custom data-link attributes added. The problem I see though is that the Slider Revolution javascript may override the theme’s.

Thank you for your response AJ. I’ll give the method you recommend above a try. I guess my only concern is will I be able to apply changes to the font in an inline link (size, line height, color, etc.) like I can with a regular text layer?

For anybody else wondering: I used this (below) to make a text layer on my slider (Slider Rev) do a local scroll to the first row on that same page. It also removed the link color (made it white) and removed the underline on hover as well.

I need to designate a certain sidebar to a specific category. I’ve seen the theme allows to do this, by editing the category (http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2016/02/term-sidebar.png), the problem is that I cannot see this option. I have the latest version of the theme (3.4.0), any workaround this problem?
Is your WordPress installation up to date? Total uses the get_term_meta function that was added in WordPress 4.4 so if WordPress is outdated then you will not be able to see the option.

Hi there, I updated the Total-theme and Visual Composer at the same time. Total Theme is on version: 3.0.5, the Visual Composer on version 4.11.2.1 – it seems, that the Total Theme isn´t working with Visual Composer Version > 4.8, isn´t it? Thanks – no i have the following error. I have a page set as blog page and a “home” set as startpage.. WHen i want to edit the home page with visual composer, visual composer opens the blog page insteat. I can only edit the home section in the backend.
Please double check your settings at Settings > Reading. The only reason I can think of that this would happen is if your Static page and Posts page are set to the same thing. Please make sure it’s not the case.

Is it possible to change the design of the portfolio filter buttons? (not just the color, but shape.
I found some options in “portfolio grid settings”. If I wanted to have more options, can I do that? Are there plugins that you recommend maybe?
The filter function is a Total theme function so there aren’t going to be plugins to add more styles. However, it is possible to use the theme filter to add your own unique styles via a child theme please see here: http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/snippets/add-custom-button-styles/
You can also customize the default button styles via CSS, but adding your own is probably best

You don’t have to buy the Visual Composer at all (it’s optional). Updates for the plugin are included with the theme. Please have a look here – http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs/updating-visual-composer/
Basically whenever there is a Visual Composer update. I will download it and test everything with the theme to ensure there aren’t issues. If there are issues I will fix them in the theme or if it’s in the plugin work with the VC developers to fix it. Once the plugin is bug-free I update the theme with the updated VC plugin and send it your way so you can update it (you can always go to Appearance > Install Plugins to view available updates through the theme).

There is 1 update available for the Slider Revolution that came out very recently (right after I updated Total to version 3.4.0 unfortunately) which I will update with the theme in the next version. Because it isn’t a crucial security update I am not pushing out an update right away, it will most likely be around Friday/Saturday this week.
If you want automatic updates via the Slider Revolution developers you will need to purchase a stand alone copy. Or you can simply wait for the theme update
I don’ like to push out updates too often as it pisses customers off when doing so (unless it’s a crucial security update).

Hi, I like Header Style: One – Left Logo & Right Navbar, but I want to remove the search from the right side of the menu and put it on the Top bar. Is that possible? Thank you in advance.
There currently isn’t any built-in option for adding a search to the top-bar…However, depending what style you are using it can be very easy.
If you are using the “Overlay” style for the search on the site you can actually toggle it by using the classname “search-overlay-toggle” on any link. So you can add a link with a search font icon in the topbar with this class and it will trigger the overlay search function.
If you want an actual input field, this isn’t possible unless you setup the topbar using the Visual Composer on a new page (create the layout you want for the topbar) then enter the ID of that page in the Customizer for the Topbar “Content”.
Another customer actually already requested this, so I will be adding a shortcode in the next update that you can use to easily add a search form in the topbar

AJ, I have a silly question… I followed your advice, prepared a page for the topbar and finally entered the page ID for the Topbar “Content”. Now, how do I disable the default content of the topbar? THe “Style” does not have any option to hide it… So either I end up with duplicate content or with no topbar at all…

Sorry I don’t understand the issue…If you delete everything inside the Topbar Content field in the Customizer and enter your Page ID it should only display the content from the page.

I have not tested those plugins because they are premium plugins. But any plugin should work with any theme as long as it’s coded correctly. If you purchase their plugin and you have issues they should be able to assist you in fixing their bugs. And of course if for any chance there is a compatibility issue with the theme I can help fix it as well.

I would still advice reaching out to the plugin developer. Because plugins should work on any theme unless their plugin requires specific functions and they would know that better than anyone else

For the top bar you can change the color via the Customizer as long as you select the correct style because some of them already have built-in colors that can only be altered via CSS. Go to Appearance > Customize > Topbar > Social. If you select the “None” (which is default) option under “Style” – http://cl.ly/2M30101a280X – you can change the color and hover color.

Sounds like your version may be quite a bit outdated, so I highly recommend before making any updates that you first make sure WordPress is up to date, then de-activate your Visual Composer plugin, then update the theme, then update your Visual Composer then re-activate the Visual Composer. By doing it in this order you can avoid any possible errors.
Updates for themes sold via ThemeForest should always be provided whether you have a support license or not. This is for all items on the marketplace.
