does anyone know why my header top might have the wrong font type and the font not centralising?

In Select Options -> Fonts -> Header Top, you should define styles for Header Top area.
And also, you can set direct styles if you use Text widget for example in header top.

What file do I need to edit to change the main Blog Standard “Title” of Hawthorne template from the Cabin theme?
Right now it is pulling the main Wordpress title, and I want custom text… the theme allows custom text on every other page…

If you’ve set that page to be your posts page in Settings -> Reading, then it’s displaying site title by default.
That’s why we recommend keeping that setting empty, and to create your Blog page as an actual page with desired template, then the page title will be used for title area, like for all the pages.
However, if you want to keep this structure as well, just write to our support at https://select.ticksy.com , and they will tell you where this title can be changed in theme files.

What should be the size of the default Hawthorne page headers? I’ve been making them 1920px (width) by 350px (height)... there seems to be some sort of weird zoom or something and the header details on the images cannot be seen.
Advice?
The right side of the headers can’t be seen on my screen resolution when my browser is maximized.

For that demo, we’ve used 1920×600px images. 350px of height is way to small if you want to have parallax effect, the photo should be about twice higher than the title area height.

Hello, been looking at the vertical slider option for a client. However, I’m concerned that the vertical slider may not work well on mobile devices. Particularly if they have a lot of text on the slide. What do you suggest as a workaround? I’ve just looked at the vertical slider demo on mobile and on yours text cuts off too.

We have taken a look at this, and as you can see on the screenshot the text does not cut off on our side: http://screencast.com/t/yGyk9BTiw60 . But this might depend on the mobile device it is being viewed on, as well as on the amount of text you have. If you have a lot of text, perhaps the vertical slider is not the best option. Unfortunately there is no alternative that is similar to the vertical slider. Perhaps a more standard site layout would be a better option.
However, if you submit a ticket to our support forum with a link to the page on your site you have the vertical slider on, our support team can take a look and see if there is anything they can do to help you out with this.

I’m having same issue – logos disappeared all of the sudden, now posts feature images are not displaying past a certain date, AND blog items not showing unless window size is touched and they all appear. Theme has too many bugs – not to mention it loads extremely slow. Change to other theme and content/page loads super fast.

We’re sorry you feel that way. However, please note that there was a major WordPress update that caused certain issues, and all issues can be solved by updating your theme and the Visual Composer plugin to the latest versions
To update Visual Composer, after you update the theme you need to deactivate and then delete the visual composer plugin. Then you should see a notice at the top of your dashboard that a required plugin needs to be installed. Install the new version of VC via this notice and you will receive the updated version. You should also empty your browser cache after you update Visual Composer.

Thanks for the recommendation. I’ve removed Visual Composer, reinstalled the latest version, and deleted WP + browser cache. I also tried uploading a new logo, switching off and on the logo display option in the Theme Settings and deleting WP cache after each action, still no luck.

For me VC is not working since a couple of weeks, any solution to reinstall Cabin theme, update, reinstall WP, clear cache is not working. As there is no solution for this moment I’ll edit the pages with another theme ( VC is working with other themes ) and then switch back to Cabin as this theme suits our needs ( for now )

There is already a ticket, Ticket #722735, but like I said, there is no solution. Also provided wp-admin access and ftp access, but the closers looks so far do not give an answer with a solution.

Clear cache and disable plugins…, that’s not helping…. For now I’ll leave it as it is and switch theme where VC is working to update the pages and then revert to Cabin. The Cabin theme is awesome ( in happy flow ), but with issues it’s a disaster.

It’s not worth for me to put anymore effort in the repeating the so called solutions, each time the same, reinstall Cabin theme, clear cache etc etc etc. I’ll edit the pages with another theme where VC is working and then revert back to Cabin. The only reason for using Cabin as I really like the looks and feel, but as soon I’ve found another theme I’ll delete this theme. This theme is perfect as long it stays working, but with issues there is no solution ! And yes it’s a theme issue as any other installed theme on my website is working with VC.

I am very interested in your Split Slider demo “Oak”, but it’s seems to have some issue on responsive display. When I look it on my smartphone, “picture slides” are in background of the text, but it’s will be better if it simply not be displayed because it’s not easy to read text on a picture background… The visibility is not good… Do you see what I mean ?

The theme is responsive, and on mobile devices the responsiveness for the split slider works in the way you initially described above, with both sides of the slider combining. We understand that the visibility might not be great for all slides, and we will take your suggestion for the split slider responsiveness under consideration, but currently there is no option to enable responsiveness such as you suggested for the split slider.

I’ve just updated to the latest version of the theme. I see in the change log it includes latest Visual composer too. I believe I have to deactivate, then delete current VC, before installing latest VC. Will I lose my page layouts that I’ve already created with VC when doing this?

make sure your main Cabin theme is activated, not child.
Then in your WP admin -> Plugins, deactivate and delete Visual Composer plugin. Then you will see a notification at the top that it’s missing, so click on it to install/activate it again.
You will not loose any pages/content you have already created this way.
