Any way to style the Standard Blog w/ Sidebar “Blog” as two columns instead of just one?

Hey,

Add this into the custom css box in the Salient options panel:

#post-area article {
    width: 45%;
    margin: 2%;
    display: inline-block;
}

Cheers

Hi – This is a pre-purchase question. On the slideshow that comes with theme – can you embed youtube videos?

And, we really prefer the Revolution Slider. Can we use Revolution Slider and do you have easy instructions to follow on how to switch it out?

Thank you, Stephanie

Hey,

1. You can embed an external video if desired

2. You’re free to use Revolution slider if you’d like, if you don’t want to use the themes slider you don’t have to use it (it’s just an element in the Salient Visual Composer). There’s no guide for using revolution slider though it shouldn’t be different than in other themes

Cheers

Hello,

I am working on a site for a client using this theme. I am using the child theme and the one page design. The one pager navigation doesn’t seems to work in the child theme. If I use the parent theme, it works. Could you verify that the one pager navigation works or not?

Thanks,

Hi there, is there a way I can send you a message with the url privately? Let me know. Thanks!

Hey, you could on themenectar.ticksy.com/ – just let me know the ticket ID here once you’ve done so :)

Thank you so much. Here is the ticket ID 761682. Looking forward to your response.

hey guys, going a bit nuts here please help. So here is the dev site; carpetcleaningcare.co.nz i have the padding set to -80 which pulls up the padding below the nav. but does not do anything about the padding / gap between the top of the nav menu and the bottom of the logo. i have this logo in the center alt style. i want the nav sitting right under the logo, maybe only 5-10px between. what is the css to achieve that? would be great to see this feature in the backend in future versions. in a lot of websites you want no gaps between your logo image and nav then top content! ive seen others asking about this but no clear answer.

Thanks so much for your help, I need to get this sorted asap for the client.

Cheers

thanks for your time! worked a treat. will be great to have these css codes for future developments.

Hi, Great theme, I use it for most of my projects. Which leads me to ask: I have the header setup as “dark” with a 72% opacity, with transparency on. I have a white logo uploaded for all sections where it asks for logo (“Header starting” regular and retina, and “logo upload” section of “logo & general styling.

I’m using a Nectar full width video slider and the logo appears perfectly when page first loads. As soon as you scroll, the black 72% transparent header box appears but the logo is missing. (I think it’s also not shrinking properly.)

Please advise, here is link http://compasshosting13.com/

NEVERMIND, PLEASE DISREGARD. My shrink was setup too much. Thanks!

Hey, glad you got things sorted :)

where is fonts folder? before salient theme ver. salient/nectar/potion/fonts.php add fonts. i want add google fonts salient theme into typography option panel

Hey,

the font list is now at nectar/redux-framework/ReduxCore/inc/fields/typography/googlefonts.php

I cannot figure out how to control the size of an image – particularly the single image within VC. I have tried adding a class to CSS & naming the element, along with inline CSS using img tags within the WYSIWYG editor. Neither works. I need some type of support for retina screens on laptops. Please help.

Hey,

Please share your URL and let me know which image on the page you’ve tried to control via CSS so I can inspect why it’s not working

Cheers

Hey Support -

Not sure what’s happening… My visual composer stopped working all of a sudden… There is content on the front end of the website but in the backend, visual composer states: “YOU HAVE BLANK PAGE START ADDING CONTENT OR TEMPLATES”

Salient Version – 7.0.8 WP – 4.5.1 Salient Visual Composer – 4.11.2

please help! Dave

So weird. It fixed itself. It now works. You can disregard my initial email.

Hey, glad to hear you’ve sorted it out :)

Cheers

Hello,

I’ve got a bit of an interesting Question for you. I’m trying to make my Website look neat, in the sense that I Want everything kind of to match up, box wise.

I recently set up my Site with Salient , and it looks like this at the moment.

www.paulanthonyshow.com

The First Blog Box you see is my Latest Work, Which is great, however the box is slightly shrunk due to the ’ love ’ icon on the left of it.

I removed the love Icon with the CSS code you provided. However the Blog Box is still acting like its there and thus it shrinks the First Blog Box a little so it does not fit/match the 3 below it.

I was wondering how I might go about fixing this?

Here’s an image of what I’m trying to achieve, Essentially I want the blog box to be the size of the pink outline.

http://imgur.com/UjSUnvP

Thanks!

Ive also tried to do Masonry for the setting, which kind of works, however it makes the blog post ’ test post 5 ’ so big that it overlaps the twitter/sidebar.

I found the CSS Code on the right that seems to be the problem, I’m unsure as to what I need to do from here.

( The Green Area on the left needs to go, I want the single blog post bigger )

Hey,

It seems you’ve edited that to have 0 left padding already at this time, did you have any other questions?

Cheers

Hey guys!

For everyone who hasn’t seen the announcements,

In regards to WordPress 4.5

The only version of Salient that is compatible with the latest WP is Salient 7.0.8, and the only version of Salient Visual Composer that is compatible with WP 4.5 is 4.11.2. If you’re using older versions of these and have updated to WP 4.5, your visual composer will not work.

Once you’ve updated Salient, head to the plugins section of your admin panel to update Visual Composer. If you’re having issues after using both the current versions, check for third party plugin issues – WP 4.5 added a new version of jQuery and a lot of plugins broke because of it.

Hey, seems like everything is great on the site but it doesnt have smooth scroll. will you have this?

And does your version of VC allow the VC addons?

Hey,

1. There’s the option to turn on smooth scroll in the options panel

2. It’s up to date so they should work however there could be css conflicts – also be aware that the grid builder in the raw VC is not in the Salient VC

Cheers

After the latest update, the logo is not hiding when scrolling past the Nectar Slider in mobile. It appears correctly in desktop, but the logo doesn’t hide in mobile, and the header never appears when scrolling back up.

Hey,

Try adding this into the custom css box in the Salient options panel:

@media only screen and (max-width: 1000px) and (min-width: 1px) {
header#top, #header-outer:not([data-permanent-transparent="1"]) {
    height: 150px!important;
    background-color: transparent!important;
    box-shadow: none;
}
}

Cheers

That adds the header, but incorrectly. It should only add the header when scrolling back up the page: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/347435/mobile-fix.mov

Hey, try changing it to this

@media only screen and (max-width: 1000px) and (min-width: 1px) {
.detached header#top, #header-outer:not([data-permanent-transparent="1"]).detached {
    height: 150px!important;
    background-color: transparent!important;
    box-shadow: none;
}
}

how can I have the header menu/logo transparent and the slider beneath ??? can’t seem to find that :/

Hey,

Do you have the header option on for “Use Transparent Header When Applicable” in your Salient options panel and the Nectar Slider set to full width in your first row in the page builder?

Cheers

Is there a way to add the Social Media Buttons onto the main menu ( not the secondary one ) with CSS?

I’d love to replace the ’ search ’ area with the social media buttons.

Hey,

This will be possible in the next update – as of now it would indeed require custom development, modding to the header.php in a child theme would be easiest

Cheers

This is my home page after importing a Demo: http://i.imgur.com/b3zeiUZ.png

forget it, already fixed

Hey, glad to hear :)

How do I change the Nectar text to be larger on mobile devices? http://atxguitarrepair.com/

Hey, the current version has a tab for “Mobile Text Sizing” http://i.imgur.com/XUhpm1B.png

Cheers

oh that’s perfect!!! Thank you : )

You’re welcome :)

Hey ThemeNectar,

I’m using the solid color button in my top menu, as a one-pager all the menu items change color when I am at their respective div#ID. These light up in the primary color, the button is also in the primary color. This means that the text inside the button is not readable when I am at it’s div#ID.

I haven’t found a way to fix this yet, do you know of a way? Thanks!

Hey,

Could you kindly share your URL so I can provide the temp fix :)

Cheers

Hey, add this into the custom css box in the Salient options panel

#header-outer:not([data-lhe="animated_underline"]) header#top nav .sf-menu li.current-menu-item.button_solid_color > a, header-outer:not([data-lhe="animated_underline"]) header#top nav .sf-menu > li.sfHover.button_bordered > a, header#top nav > ul > li.button_bordered > a:hover {
    color: #fff!important;
}

Hi, I love your theme, thanks so much. When I view my one of my blog posts on my mobile, I don’t see my social sharing icons, but they show on a larger screen. Can you advise how I can make them visible? My blog is: http://www.cathellis.com/blog

Hey,

Add this into the custom css box located in your Salient Options panel:

@media only screen and (max-width: 690px) {
body .row .col.section-title span:not(.share-count-total), html .single #single-below-header span:not(.share-count-total) {
    display: block!important;
}
}

Cheers

Thanks so much, it worked, however it is only showing Facebook to share. Can you think of any reason it is doing this?

Try adding this in as well

@media only screen and (max-width: 690px) {
.nectar-sharing, .n-shortcode .nectar-love, .nectar-sharing-alt {
  display: inline-block;
}
}

Hey Nectar, quick question, for the testimonial sliders how do we keep the structure the same whenever someone resizes the browser? If you take a look at my demo page – http://luciotailoring.lnbbroductionstest.com/

Scroll to the middle and you’ll see that when you resize the browser the testimonial container becomes skewed and so the typography looks awkward on desktop and mobile. How do I keep it from resizing to the responsiveness?

Hey,

It looks good! Since your header is kinda tall you could consider using the “Hide header until needed” option and possibly also use the option to remove the border on the transparent header to give the landing header more space

Cheers

Nectar, thank you for the feedback. I will use the transparency but I’ve tried making my header a bit smaller by using a lesser value of 100 in the header padding option it does not seem to make it any smaller.

Your logo appears to have space on the top/bottom of it in the image file itself – if you remove that so the top of the image file is at the top of the logo it will help

Cheers
