I’m receiving an error shown below, How do i resolve it? Each BuddyPress Component needs its own WordPress page. The following WordPress Pages have more than one component associated with them: Members. Repair

Secondly how do i get users upon login to be redirected to the dashboard as currently they are directed to wp admin backend.

- You need to assign a page to the Members page, Settings > Buddypress > Pages, and pick up a page for your members

- Only the Admin members are supposed to be redirected to the dashboard, others will be redirected to your front page. If you want to change this behaviour there are many free wordpress plugins abut this. Just open up a ticket on our helpdesk so we can give you more details if needed.

I updated the theme to version 1.8.5 and noticed the interface changes. Before this update, the vertical menu on the left was narrow and was set to “displayed” by default. The right sidebar was also set to “displayed” by default. Of course people could hide them if needed, but no actions were needed to display them.

Now after the update, both the vertical menu and the right sidebar are hidden / collapsed. The users need to press the pancake icon to display the vertical menu, and click the arrow on the right top bar to display the right sidebar. New users might not even know the vertical menu and sidebar are there. Secondly, the vertical menu width changed, now it is wide. More importantly, when you click the menu to display, it partially covers the dashboard widgets, instead of pushing them to the right.

What I need:

1) restore the default settings to display the vertical menu and right sidebar on login.? 2) Restore the width of the vertical menu bar to the previous default.

I attempted to report this as a ticket, but since the original support expired I was not able to do so. This is very frustrating: I should be able to report basic default functionality issues to the team regardless of the time of purchase. Another thing if I wanted to open a ticket to request some basic theme customization or help with functionality implementations. For those requests, I agree, new customers need to get a limited time (6 mo) after which extension of the support is required. But you need to continue basic support including bug reports without expiration. Very frustrating.

2F, I appreciate your detailed response. If my email was full of frustration it is because I am tired of the routine that every update brakes something. 1.8.3 broke the user names in some widgets, such as Birthday alerts, etc. this latest one again changed the interface (different navigation style and settings). I know the theme will be developed and get new functionality. But it would be great if in the version release notes you would provide your customers with some guides on resetting the styles if the customer preferred the old design. For example, after the last update I went to Theme options and re-saved my settings including the vertical menu width (75px), the sidebar options, etc. However for some reason these settings do not affect the site behavior. The menu is still 200px wide, the vertical nav still does not push the widgets on the dashboard to the right, but covers them on the left side, etc. I cannot reset the defaults to show the VNAV and right sidebar. Luckily, I had a full backup of the previous version. I restored 1.83 and made a note to not update this theme anymore to avoid future bugs especially in the absence of the basic tech support. The only reason I was updating the theme to new versions was not for new functionality, but with the hope the new versions will be more performance-optimized. Back to your comment: you said that only main updates (1.6, 1.7, 1.8, etc) are tested, but all intermediate versions (1.81, 1.82, etc) are released without QA. This would be fine if: a) you clearly explained this policy to customers so they are aware of the specific risks; b) you call them “nightlies” or something like that, so that even the release name indicates a preliminary “at-your-own-risk” status of that release. Then the adventurous customers would still update, but those that prefer stability would wait for the next big release, skipping the intermediates. I am not going to extend paid support to deal with the bugs. Sorry.

No problem, I got it :) It’s just that we spend our whole days working on the same project and helping our customers. Most of the time when we get bad ratings it’s because the customer hasn’t tried to reach us by opening a ticket or made a wrong purchase. But it’s the first time we have a bad writing after support (and 19 tickets), so that’s why I prefer to understand correctly what’s behind so that never ever happen again. But you’ve made yourself really clear and I do appreciate it.

Regarding the updates, well actually I won’t lie to you that if we create updates it’s for customer to update :) so we won’t create “half” updates. And the bug created by an update is 99% of the time visible on less than 5% of our customers and fixed within a day anyway. But, yes I get your point and we’ll seriously consider it.

Then, Woffice comes with several services (changelog, doc, articles, extensions…) and also an online updater (I know you probably hate it ;) ). However, you might want to check the online version :

Hi, thats a great theme and im willing to buy it. Can you help me with a few questions?

1) I was wondering the hardware requirements to run all this in a good performance. Im about to run it for like 500 users.

2) Is is possible to integrate with Google Agenda (for calendar) and Hangout (for chat)?

Sure, here we go :

1. I’d recommand at least a VPS but a dedicated server would be better.

2. There are several plugins already created for Google Agenda. If you prefer to use the EventOn plugin (which is already included), you might want to have a look on this addon : http://www.myeventon.com/addons/sync-events/ However, I’ve never heard of any Hangout integration within Wordpress :/ So I’m afraid it’ll be pretty hard to achieve. Well they do have an API : https://developers.google.com/+/hangouts/ so there might be a way to do that, but from my point of view, it’s a lot of work.

Really depends on the plugins you’ll be using but you can start with 4GB (that’s what we’re using for all our demos).

This is managed by Wordpress, so you can override this quite easily. I just had a look on Google about that and a few plugins already exist about that. I have a quick question before I purchase this theme… Are the colours easily customisable?? I would, for obvious reasons, want to rebrand / recolour most of the elements to suit my companies requirements.

I was interested in your theme for a wiki type site but then I discovered that Multiverso has been abandoned by its developer. File management is a critical aspect of my requirement. Thoughts?

We’ve replaced Multiverso about 6 months ago with the powerful File Away plugin. And there are other plugins available. So Multiverso is still included but not installed by default whereas File Away is.

I’m making a user submitted posts site (with usb pro) and I was wondering if this would be a good theme to use for my site. I want the home page for logged in users to be a regular looking blogging site but with a login button in the tope corner (and then once they log in it’ll look like your demo site) ... is that possible with this theme?

ok I got your blog demo to work (fyi the drop down menu link to enter the blog demo is broken) .. so was that demo was a demo for user submitted blog posts? will I need the USP plugin? I suppose Buddy press is installed on the demo, right? ...when I go to dashboard I see “Author & Post Statistics” ... will my users blog posts show up there?

You have several options : - Using Woffice for the whole site, so you’ll have both a private area (once logged) and a public blog page. – Use a multisite setup to have a second theme that handles the blog view – Use a subdomain with a different Wordpress setup and a simple link to your private area (Woffice). So yes, it’s possible.

This is your call, here it’s just an example. But yes you’ll need Buddypress. After you can pick what you prefer and get rid of the rest.

This theme seems to be more like of a super theme or toolbox then a WP theme, congrats, I love the ambition!

Can I chose which functions to use on your theme or do I have to use it all? I can imagine that if one uses it all it gets pretty heavy to load. Besides, if I don’t need all the functions, why should I have them?

Woffice is built on extensions, so you can keep what you need and deactivate the other extensions (just some buttons to switch from the Woffice extensions page). And yes you’re right it helps for the speed.
