I’m trying to get a html particle header but it just isn’t working at all. I’ve got a fresh install of Salient but all I’m seeing is the title of the image I upload. so no particles in the header. Just a live text title…

Hi, as always, I have love the theme. I’ve recently run into a problem that I can’t seem to fix. What I want is a carousel of images to go by within separate Tabs. Since carousel and clients are not an option, I’m instead using the Image Gallery – Touch Enabled and Spaced. Each image is the same size: 310×430, and I enter that size into the settings. But when I preview it on the site the physical size of the Image Gallery is huge: 820×1140. Even if I change the image size in the settings to be the smallest possible, it just makes the images extremely pixelated and the Gallery size stays the same: 820×1140. I’ve tried using this Gallery in the Tabs as well as in a separate row and I still get the same results. I’m not sure what’s going on. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Here’s what’s weird, when I put your images from this demo site http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-promo/ from the top of the page (which has the dimensions of 1000×743) into my gallery everything looked fine. Does the Touch Enabled and Spaced Gallery require the width to be at least 1000px because it only shows three images at a time? I’m thinking that might be the reason. Correct me if I’m wrong. Thanks.
Sorry for all the messages. Without any other solution, I’ve decided to use the 1000×743 template for the Image Gallery and that seems to work okay. But…the problem now is for whatever reason I am unable to place a second Gallery in another tab. The alignment gets all out of place. All I see is the navigation and the images disappear. Is this a bug? Is there any update maybe?

Could you please open a ticket in regards so I could inspect the setup further? In general the touch enabled and spaced gallery will have the images occupy the space of the column they’re located in. Could you please share your URL so I can see the current setup you’re using?

Hi, I am planing on buying this theme and use it for my architecture portfolio. What I am not sure is there is a page type I could use to present each individual project. Masonary styles of porftolios you offer are good, yet I don’t see single post pages which I could use? For example, for each project I would like to make horizontal or vertical slider with fixed with (or full screen) photos to go through. Could you make some suggestions or direct me to some additional info. Tnx

The single project pages allow you to use any element Salient offers – therefore an image gallery or Nectar Slider element could be used in this case

Hey Im having some issues with my template:
1. I am using one of the pre-created demo pages (corporate demo). Now when I edit one of the pages, the template automatically activates ‘Parallax header’ and creates a grey ‘Page Header Background Color’. And even when I remove these options and click save, the template reverts back to the active ‘parallax header’. I have tried creating a fresh new page, but this still occurs.
2. For some reason, my pages will start to show other pages content. For examples, I have created a draft ‘coming soon’ page, but whenever I publish one of my other draft pages, i.e. my ‘About Me’ page, the ‘coming soon’ page shows all of the content from the ‘About Me’ page.
I have a few more issues, but if you could help me with these two first, that would be great!

Since neither of these items are known issues, have you verified that no third party plugins are causing this? Also was this an existing site before Salient was installed or is this a fresh WP installation?

This is a fresh wordpress install – i wiped my previous wordpress page. I have deactivated and deleted jut about every plugin I have installed. The only other plugins I have running are SUMOME, Facebook instant articles, contact form 7. These plugins were running on the previous website with now issues.
Any advice? Would really like to get my wordpress published soon

I’m looking to create pages where I have an image background that is ‘full screen’ and responsive to the device. Then have the text over the top. Is this possible? The Nectar Slider doesn’t really work as I want to add the page content on top of the image. Sort of like this http://weddingvideosbyfreezeframe.co.uk/test-page/
Here I’ve just set a centre aligned background images and added Padding Bottom pixels, but it isn’t really fullscreen and responsive to different device screensizes.
Hey, the closest thing you could do for this would be to use a regular full width background visual composer row – however for the padding top/bottom use a percent value instead of a px value. e.g. “15%”

You can set a BG color in the column which holds the text – a semi transparent BG is also allowed and you can use the column padding option to make it appear like a box

Hey, have you considered turning off the styled scrollbar in the Salient options panel? That’s what is causing the slight px offset when using boxed mode. You can then also remove the snippet I listed above – your scroll performance will also increase noticeably

Hi there. I am trying to get a background on my nectar heading. I have tried the below code:

Problem is, the darker background behind the nectar heading clashes with the nectar caption and creates a darker section. I’ve tried changing the line height and padding but nothing is working. Any ideas?
Actually think I’ve figured it out! Changed the line height and needed to force a refresh in my browser. It was caching so changes weren’t updating.

You made a lot of changes to this update. One change that ANNOYS the heck out of me, is that you added a project navigation on the portfolio with only two choices…on the footer or on the header …I don’t want it on at all, or I want to change the words from “next project/previous project” to previous or more or something else. I’m showing dogs, and not PROJECTS . Let me make the decision of that word or make it possible for people to EASILY change it. I’m not happy with a lot of the update choices on this. It was a nightmare having to fix everything. Please let me know where I can change this dialog.

The portfolio navigation has existed in since the initial release of Salient, an additional option was added to move the nav to the footer location (previously it was forced to only be in the header) due to popular requesting from theme users. If you’d like to hide it all together add this into the custom css box in the Salient options panel:
.bottom_controls, #portfolio-nav {
display: none!important;
}
You can also translate the string via the .po file if desired. Please let me know what other issues you’ve encountered when updating

Try to change your page transition method from AJAX to the standard one available in the Salient options panel > page transitions tab

It was on standard, so I changed it to AJAX and everything started breaking. Now when i switched it back to standard, the logo disappeared, and my logo transition is broken.
Also now I have a show next project showing up on the bottom of each portfolio piece. Just from going from standard to AJAX has seemed to break my entire site.
Strange, I had to reupload my logo, loader, and edit the CSS again, but everything is back to normal, just the tiles are still overlapping in the standard option.
Also the down arrow that blinks is now missing on my site after all of this.

The original skin is the only way to have this functionality – the ascend skin shows the cart all the time. You can change this in the Salient options panel > general settings tab

1. When using the nectar slider before the image loads there’s a dark background with angled lines running through. How do I just set this to black and remove the lines?
2. I am using the ‘Title overlaid w/ zoom effect on hover’ setting for the portfolio. I would like to keep the zoom animation but disable the follow mouse movement animation. Also how do I slow down the zoom animation?

you must love me by now. Is there a setting that prevents the nectar slider image when in full screen mode to not cut off the sides of the image. if u look at www.satavtar.com in vertical mode on ipad for instance its cut off

Hey, have you also checked for third party plugin conflicts? If you haven’t – try deactivating any you might have except the Salient VC and theme recommended ones (if you’re using them) such as contact form 7/woocommerce

Hi, I have both a regular main navigation and a secondary (top) navigation on my site. On a mobile device however there is too much menu at the top (taking up too much real estate) but I need the links in the top navigation still accessible, I can not just hide them on a mobile device. Is there any way to add the secondary(top) navigation options in the off canvas menu as well??

Unfortunately there’s no way to add the secondary nav items into the off canvas menu yet without custom development – maybe some css could help making the secondary header take up less space on mobile. If you could share your URL i’d be glad to take a look
