The search option at the menu bar, loads up with a full screen and show’s “start typing” this is really cool but doesn’t fit with the style I have on the website. How can i make it basic? like classic style. I think I have the agency demo imported.

I am having an issue where at screen resolutions between 1480px and 100px cause the menu to shift down and cover part of the home page slider, which makes the menu hard to read. Is there a way to have the menu scale with resolution so that it always stays where it is supposed to?

Just curious if we’ll ever see possible integration with the existing Portfolio Post Type plugin (https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/portfolio-post-type/).
We realize that Salient registers it’s own custom post type but if a customer wants to leave Salient they lose all their portfolio work; which isn’t very user friendly (I know this is a general theme practice but it’s awful from an end-user perspective).
On the other hand, customers coming in to Salient with established portfolio’s (using the above plugin) also have to re-do them (huge pain). We are actually seeing more and more individuals (more than a handful) utilizing the above plugin and picking their theme; however this causes conflict with themes using their own “Portfolio” custom post types.
We’d love to recommend Salient to some of these customers but know they aren’t going to want to re-do their entire portfolio.
The plugin mentioned and salient appear to register the same name for the custom post type and we can easily use filters to change the Category/Tag slug to mimic the structure that salient registers (i.e. project-type, project-attribute).
If direct integration is off the table do you think the portfolio function would still work if we used the plugin, disabled the Salient portfolio post type creation, and mimic’d the slug structure (as mentioned above)?

After looking at this more closely, due to the fact that the plugin and the Salient custom post type are identical, it’s really easy to make this work with the plugin.
We installed/activated the above Portfolio Post Type plugin and added some modification snippets to our child theme functions.php to match the category/tag structure that Salient is using in it’s Portfolio custom post type.
We then commented out lines 2466 – 2563 in the functions.php file of the Salient parent theme.
All appears to be working without issue so far knockonwood.
One question we have is that we want to display our portfolio using the VC element on a “Work” page (slug = work); we’d like the portfolio items to have that “work” slug as well so we changed Salient “Custom Slug” option to “work”. However, this causes a conflict and the normal work page no longer loads properly; it loads as an archive.
Is there any way to get around this? Possibly change the archive slug via a Salient function/filter?

Hi, I was using a temporary domain to show on demand to my client the updates. Now that i finished, im moving to the original server, BUT the portfolio itens (which is large) is not importing the media, just the content and categories… Am I doing something wrong?

No error, just the wordpress with that message to choose which user will be delegated as admin to that posts, and the check box to mark if you want to download the content ( which i checked ).
Then after the importing, when I check, all my itens are there, perfect but without the media files. ;/

I purchased your theme last week and so far I’m very impressed with this. This is by far the most powerful theme I have ever bought, so congratulations for the good work
I’m just having a few issues that I would need to fix, so any help on this would be awesome:
1) Force transparent header: I need my header to be the transparent one througout. I managed to have it transparent for all pages except for the single portfolio pages? Is there anyway to accomplish this?
2) Hide all portfolio project titles: All my single portfolio pages will have a nectar slider (fullscreen and parallax) on top of the page. I would need to remove the project header and title and force the header to be transparent, so the content is fullscreen with the header on top of the slider (as all other pages).
3) Nav color change issue: Currently in my website, if you scroll down the page, the nav eventually changes the color, from light to dark. I have set up all my content to have “light” text. So I would need the nav to stay white all time.
4) Link to gallery: In any nectar slider, is it possible to have a button to open an image gallery in a popup fashion? I need an View Gallery button that leads to a popup showing image A with prev/next arrows to image B and C. (I’m using the magnific popup from your options by the way).

Edit: Activating the Permanent Transparent Header option available from Salient Theme Options Panel won’t make the header transparent for any of the single portfolio pages. Also, in the wp editor for single portfolio pages there’s not an option to Force Transparency On Navigation.

1. If you set a page header in your project page it will trigger the transparent effect
2. Add this into the custom css box in the Salient options panel:
body.single-portfolio #page-header-wrap {
display: none!important;
}
3. Make sure you also have the rows set to full width background for the type wherever you want the nav to display light
4. Unfortunately this wouldn’t be possible as of yet without some custom development

Thank you so much for your reply and help. Now I understand a bit more the mechanic of your theme and I managed to solve the issues above.
The only issue I’m having now is the following: clicking the hamburguer icon will make the footer appear on the page for 1 second before the menu is revealed and it will sit behind the full screen cover and will stay on page for 1 second after having closed the menu.
There shouldn’t be any footer on the page until users reach the bottom of the page.

Hi, I have a problem with the Page Builder not working. When I click on Page Builder and when I try to click on any elements, it is not working.

the only version of Salient that is compatible with the latest WP is Salient 7.0.8, and the only version of Salient Visual Composer that is compatible with WP 4.5 is 4.11.2. If you’re using older versions of these and have updated to WP 4.5, your visual composer will not work.
Once you’ve updated Salient, head to the plugins section of your admin panel to update Visual Composer. If you’re having issues after using both the current versions, check for third party plugin issues – WP 4.5 added a new version of jQuery and a lot of plugins broke because of it.

2. You can use the .po file for WooCommerce in regards – however you can also find the string directly in salient/woocommerce/cart/cart-shipping.php
