Hey there!
Loving Salient, but looking for a tad more customization. I want the off canvas menu to be 100px wider. I tried all the usual suspects in CSS and had limited success. I even tried your suggested editing of init.js (replaced all instances of []300px with []400px and []301px with []401px but it’s still showing up at 300px wide. Any tips?
Thanks!
Hey reticen1, please share your URL in regards so I can take a look
Alas, there is no URL as I’m developing locally at the moment. I’m curious what you meant when you told the other fellow (months back) to edit init.js. I searched the file for “Slide Out Widget Area” like you said, found the section, and replaced all values that matched the current values with my desired values. Nothing. Perhaps this is something for the wish list? Do you have any other suggestion as to how I can go about making the slide out widget area wider?
Thanks!
Please help! I’ve accidentally reset my theme and now my site has lost all its customisation. How do I revert / roll it back????
Hey idej_jedi, reset it in the theme options panel with “reset all button”? If that’s the case the only way to restore it would be with a database backup. If you or your hosting company has one, that would be the only way
The alignment of the Service template is really off when importing it. I am not sure how to line everything up like it is in the demo so it is not overlapping with the header bar.
Also, how do I make the sidebar appear on mobile for the one page scrolling?
Hey jtnadams,
1. Since this isn’t a known issue could you please share your URL in regards so I can take a look at your setup?
2. Which sidebar are you referring to?
Cheers
URL is vrtxagency.com
The right scrolling sidebar present on mobile views on the product demo
I modified padding to make some things fit but it still messes up a little on mobile
You can select the Off Canvas Menu Style in the Header navigation > Off canvas navigation tab of your Salient options panel. I’m not seeing the alignment issues you were referring to, could you possibly provide a screenshot depicting it?
I reimported the demo here https://vrtxagency.com/home
And the sidebar I was referring to on mobile is the indicator showing what section you are on when scrolling through the front page. It shows on the product demo but not service demo
Hey,
1. Make sure you’re using Salient VC 4.12
2. In the Header navigation > Off canvas navigation tab select “Slide Out From Right Hover Triggered” for your Off Canvas Menu Style
Updating the plugin fixed it thanks!!
But the section indicator still doesn’t show with that setting
I was misunderstanding what you were referring to until now – the tooltip is hidden for mobile only with the “tooltip alt” style since it’s a larger element. If you want it to show on all devices you must use one of the other style
Hi!
This isn’t a request for help, but (hopefully) more bug spotting:
Using the canvas menu, right-side (not hover), if you use a browser/device at a width smaller than 1000px and stop over a light background, then tap the menu hamburger icon, the menu will slide out as expected. Now, while the top and bottom harmburger lines change to white (since the background has darkened), the middle line remains black.
(I noticed this on my website, https://nathanmfarrugia.com)
Unfortunately, I couldn’t confirm this on a Salient demo since none of them use the right-side menu without hover. But I assume this isn’t just for my website!
Nathan
Hey again! It only would occur with the permanent transparent header
Add this into the custom css box located in your Salient Options panel:
#header-outer.side-widget-open.transparent .midnightHeader.default .slide-out-widget-area-toggle[data-icon-animation="simple-transform"] .lines-button:after {
background-color: #fff!important;
}
Cheers
Hmm, no dice unfortunately! I tried as normal and also with a max-width of 1000px. This is frustrating because they don’t properly show in Chrome’s Dev Tools. In fact, I can’t even add a rule into Dev Tools to test, because this canvas menu makes everything flicker.
So I can only guess at the Salient rules. But I can’t even see my own rule and whether it’s being overridden. It’s almost as if my rule isn’t there at all—although I have checked and my style.css definitely includes your suggested rule.
You can find it at line 120 at: https://nathanmfarrugia.com/wp-content/themes/nathanv2/style.cssI even added body at the beginning of the rule to help override, but that didn’t work. Sorry, but I couldn’t get it working!
Hey, anyway you could open a ticket with your admin credentials so I can take a further look why the snippet isn’t working for you? Just let me know the ticket ID here once you’ve done so
Sure! I just gave credentials on a ticket yesterday, so if you’d like to login again: https://themenectar.ticksy.com/ticket/634709
Much appreciated!
Hi!
Quick question: I’ve learned how to influence the color of the transparent off-canvas menu icons (row background or text color), but I have one particular Nectar Slider that is proving very stubborn. The second slider on this page, with the blue sky: https://nathanmfarrugia.com The header social icons remain black, regardless of how I try to force them to change to white. I have even set the default header scheme to light. I’ve noticed this CSS rule in play for the header social icons while browsing over this particular Nectar Slider:
#header-outer.transparent .midnightHeader.default header#top nav > ul > li:not(.button_solid_color) > a {color:#000!important;}
I’m not sure what the solid button color is referring to, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Nathan
Hey Nathan!

Sure, thanks! The ticket is https://themenectar.ticksy.com/ticket/634709
Hey, it turned out you had the nectar slider in a full width section shortcode rather than a visual composer row shortcode. They appear almost the same in VC, the vc row has more options though and allows the midnight header to work correctly. I switched it out for you and it seems to work normally now
Wow, I never would have figured that out! (Although if I was smart, I would’ve added a fresh row and tried again.) Thanks for solving the mystery!
No problem
Hello, I should create a portal with many, many pages. Can you please answer these simple pre-sale questions?
1- Mega Menu: how many columns and is there the possibility to customize it even with small photos?
2- Inside a page: in addition to the main menu, can I have another menu linked to other pages or linked in the sections of the page itself (the classic anchor links)?
3- Can I get in my website, multiple pages created using your theme One Page, linked to the general home page?
Thank you very much for your answers
Hey RodGC ,
1. You can choose between 3-6, photos would require custom css
2. Yes, you can see an example of the page submenu here: http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-corporate/about/
3. Yes you can

Hi,
Recently updated to Salient v7.5
I’ve tried to use the new header layout labeled “Centered Logo Between Menu”. Once activated with my header logo height at 100px, the header loses its responsiveness.
Is this a known problem and are there any fixes for this?
Appreciate your response in advance. Thanks.
Hey Marketingnetwork,
Please share your URL so Ic an take a look at what you’re referring to

Hi!
Both the before and after states for my social icons seem to be visible, but only on the portfolio pages. The rest of my website is fine:
https://nathanmfarrugia.com/novels/helix-episode-1/Is there a CSS rule that I need to fix? I tried looking for it myself, but had no success.
Thank you!
Nathan
Hey Nathan!
Do you have this custom css added? It looks like that’s what effect it
.single-portfolio header#top nav>ul>li a {
padding-bottom: 17px !important;
}
If you can’t find it and just want to overwrite it, use this:
html .single-portfolio header#top nav>ul>li a {
padding-bottom: 0px!important;
}
Cheers
I couldn’t find it in my child theme, but I added your override and it worked perfectly. Thank you very much!
You’re very welcome
Hi,
I’m using your awesome theme for a website but I got a problem on the page where I’m using transparent header. If I scroll down and then I scroll to top very quickly, the header doesn’t show or only a part of it is showing. I tried to fix it but no success. I think it’s caused by the CSS transform property, can you help me?
This is a page where you can see the bug : http://dev.treize.pro/regine/services/
Thanks
Hey TREIZE,
If you update to the current release of the theme you’ll get the fix for this issue

Hello,
1. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, but I can’t find the option to display the portfolio items in lightbox.
I have the Portfolio page set up as ‘Portfolio’ template (in Page attributes). Each of my portfolio item is either single image or video (Vimeo embed).
I can see the Lightbox option in ‘Portfolio’ element, but ‘Portfolio’ element doesn’t have the sortable categories list.
2. Ideally I’d like my portfolio to have the same functionality as full page Nectar slider, so when on portfolio page, I could see thumbnails of portfolio items and the sortable categories list. After clicking the thumbnail I’d initiate Nectar slider with portfolio images from the current category (starting from the image I clicked on). Is there any way to achieve this?
Thanks
Hey YoZeeto,
1. The option is indeed only available in the portfolio VC element, however the category list should still be there. Could you please open a ticket in regards with your admin credentials so I can take a look at what’s going on
themenectar.ticksy.com/ Also let me know the ticket ID here once you’ve done so
2. The lightbox only option provides navigation through the images in the same category once clicked on, but it doesn’t have swipe functionality like the Nectar Slider
Cheers
Hi!
Is the new version of Salient still compatible with WPML plugin?
Hey! Nothing changed that would hurt the compatibility – just let me know if you run into issues
Hi Theme Nectar, Before the update my Timetable plugin was working great but after the Salient update the Hover Text Color stopped working. I want the Hover Text of the Upcoming Widget become white but because the footer font is set to gray is not allowing the plugin to work. Please help. www.loureirojiujitsu.com
Hey maurinoloureiro, add this into custom css box located in your Salient Options panel:
#footer-outer .tt_upcoming_events_widget .tt_upcoming_events_event_container:hover {
color: #fff!important;
}
Cheers
It’s working again! Thank you!

Hello ! How to replace the svg in the demo “agency” (blue screen) ? thanks !
Hey janazuki,
When editing the text block you can use the nectar shortcode generator to create new icons – the ones used there are in the “Linea” icon family
Cheers
Question. I added new project categories but its not showing up on the portfolio filters. When i edited the existing ones, they drop off as well so i’m not sure why this is happening. So currently my portoflio is not showing up as the categories i have assigned is not showing as well.

But the result still the same, can you help me on this, i am using the latest Nectar 7.5

Updated to 7.5.02, indicated in the theme options. However, the social media options for the header navigation don’t appear for me either, like someone posted earlier.

Hi,
I’ve updated the theme to version 7.5 and entered google api key for google maps, but that hasn’t resolved issue. Please see ticket #852307

I had to clear the cache! sorry I should’ve been a bit more patient.
Hey, glad to hear you’ve sorted it
Hi, one thing I just discovered now is when displaying products in Woocommerce, if you click on the image on the product detail page to open the lightbox, (see an example http://www.orimoloye.com/product/woman-and-husband-in-flowing-agbada ), it opens a cropped image! Please how do I get it to not crop the image but display it with the correct aspect ratio (ie in the lightbox at least)? Also please how do I hide the title and price under the image in the shop page – I only want it to show those details when the user is on the detail page. Thanks again
Hey theexpert1,
1. I’m currently seeing it display the image uncropped in the lightbox, have you changed anything? If not, please let me know which browser you’re seeing it occur on
2. Add this into the custom css box located in your Salient Options panel:
.woocommerce ul.products li.product.classic h3, .woocommerce-page ul.products li.product.classic h3, .woocommerce ul.products li.product .price {
display: none;
}
Cheers
1. Yes indeed! I found this somewhere – where you had apparently helped someone with it previously:
body, .container-wrap { overflow: visible!important; }
Thank you so so MUCH!

ie body, .container-wrap {
overflow: visible!important;
}
Ah, yes that would only be needed if your page height was shorter than the image height
Glad you’ve sorted it
