“On the Product-Landing theme I’m experiencing bugs when trying to upload self-hosted videos in a portfolio. When I click on ‘watch video’ the video appears but doesn’t play unless i clicked it, and there are no play control options, no play button, no time slider, no play full-screen etc, just a black screen. Suggestions?”

Hi, I was wondering whether its possible to add a secondary menu aligned to the right of the main menu i.e. next to the search button. Also is possible to have the search button as text instead of icon or either have the aligned right menu linking to the search function?
Lastly, is it possible to have the headers shadow/border disappear only when the menu is at the top of the page and then reappear when the page menu isn’t scrolled to the top?

1. As of now these items would require some custom development – namely modding to the header.php file

Is there a way that I can run a slider on a page that shows a series of posts of a certain category? I know that I can use a Home Slider or Nectar slider to add slides to a page. Im jus tlooking for that look and feel – but have it just read from a specific category (like Featured) to run those as posts… something similar to http://www.aboutrc.com/

Hi, Do I really have to upload 1 image at a time to use the portfolio feature? Is there a way to display a gallery like the one you see on this landing page www.studiolaflamme.com using salient? Do I have to buy another plug in, or is there a way to do this now. Is there a work around to uploading each image to a poortfolio?

Also if you want a spaced gallery such as the one shown on the demo landing ( http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-promo/ ) similar to the one you’ve linked – it’s also available in the image gallery element. It’s called the “Touch enabled and spaced” gallery type

Hi, You must have commented on this in the past, but I can´t find any info, I have the impression that the header grows to infinity and there are no limits on the site. The header can either be full width or contained, the option to change that exists in the Salient options panel > header navigation > layout related tab

This template rocks! Quick question. How can I add a short code for a button or ad text above the “Menu” bar. What file do I need to edit to add a button code or text to that area? I want to add a clickable Book Now link to clients can see it on all pages and in a mobile view.

Hi I am feeling so frustrated. I have the Salient theme but I can’t see any widgets at all. When I switch themes I can see them but not with the Salient theme. I have BuddyPress installed, I am not sure whether the problem is related to this? Best, Nadia

My Visual Composer seems to be “broken.” I can’t add any rows or elements and in general the user interface is totally not what I’m used to. I’m using a Dutch-language version of wordpress 4.6 (16-08-2016 update) and I’ve updated to the latest version of the Salient Theme. What am I doing wrong? I’m getting pretty desperate…

Are you also on the current version of the Salient Visual Composer plugin (4.12)? Any older versions won’t work with WP 4.5+ If so, please verify that no third party plugins you may have active are causing the issue

You could either change the column number to be greater than 2 – which would make the image smaller and allow it to show in better quality. Or you could edit the nectar/tinymce/nectar-processing.php file and in the nectar_recent_posts function change this

Hi Salient,
There seems to be a little bug with the “Centered Logo Between Menu” header layout option with “Use Transparent Header When Applicable?” option enabled.
When I selected the option initially (I was already using the transparent header option) it pushed my navigation links to the middle, under the centered logo.
After playing with it a bit, I noticed that if I moved the “Header BG Opacity” (which was originally set to 80 – under “Logo & General Styling”) to 100 and also turned off transparency, saved, reloaded the page, then set it back to 80 and turned back on transparency and saved, that I would display correctly.
Unfortunately this back and forth is required every time I add a new menu item, change my logo, or do anything at all really with the header.
Not sure if the bug is on my end, but thought I’d give you a heads up.

Our FontAwesome icons are failing to display in every instance we’ve added them via “Add Element” -> “Nectar Elements” -> “Social Buttons”
The “Nectar Love” icon displays; but none of the social media ones do (Facebook, Twitter, Google +, LinkedIn, Pinterest).
Font-awesome icons will load if we hardcode them but we have 12+ pages built out that are using the “Nectar Elements” -> “Social Buttons” functionality and we’d really rather not have to switch every page and icon over.
Any idea how we can fix this?

Hi,
I’m encountering a problem with the new fullscreen row feature. Our website uses autoplaying and loopable videos instead of pictures for our team members (Harry Potter style). When I’m using the new fullscreen row feature, the videos don’t autoplay and they just appear as a still images. I have to right click on the video, to display the controls to be able to have the video play (which is not hat I want our visitors to do).
Any idea what might cause the video to not play with the fullscreen row feature on?

Video BGs have a known issue when using the fullscreen feature – it’s going to be sorted in the next release which will be out within a couple weeks

There’s no way that this could be achieved without custom css to target the elements and resize them according to your specific setup. If you can share your URL I could see how complicated that would be to help out
