I have just updated to version 2.10.8 but I notice that Visual Composer is still at 4.2.3 when 4.12.1 is the latest version. I also did not find the VC plugin in the zip I just downloaded from Envato.

updating the theme alone will not update the plugins. Plugins need to be updated manually, so once you update the theme with it you will have the latest VC release available, now you just have to update it from the theme’s “Related Plugins” page.

We just completed the latest theme update and it wiped out all of the custom fields for the Revolution Slider 
. On every page of the site we used the udesign_add_slider_revolution field and after the update that field and the sliders are gone from every page We’re going to have to add these back in manually on almost 80 pages, so can you please let us know how to prevent this from happening again with future updates?

sorry to hear you lost those slider assignments, this should not have happened, something must have gone wrong during the update. The custom fiends were not wiped out but rather they were all moved to the “U-Design Options” metabox just below the editor. Your slider options should have been properly transferred and assigned to that respective option in the metabox and the transition should have been seamless for you. There were thousands of other users that went through this update and nobody else reported such an issue to my knowledge so this could have been specific to your setup or hosting.
Having said the above, it is important to keep up with theme updates and to not fall behind as then the impact of jumping over many updates could potentially cause issues.

We do see the Udesign options box and the related sliders that used to be in the meta fields are properly selected in the drop downs, but they do not display. So it seems they were transferred, but the new drop down selection functionality just isn’t working.
Have you also updated the Rev. slider plugin? Make sure to update Rev. slider to the latest version v5.2.6

Yes, v5.2.6 is in place, Wordpress and all other plugins up to date as well. We’ve been using this theme for over a year and the sliders have never disappeared with theme updates until this update.
yeah, that’s odd… What happens after you save that post or page again, do they re-appear?
Also, if you have any sort of caching enabled for this site make sure to purge it and then “hard” refresh the page in the front end.
1. Saving the page/post again does not trigger it to re-appear
2. Caching plugin is disabled
3. If we manually re-add the slider through the udesign_add_slider_revolution meta field, then the slider appears again, but if you remove the meta field it disappears again, so the issue seems specific to not working from the new drop down.
Manually re-adding all of these doesn’t feel like a good solution – first because we have sliders on 80 plus pages we would have to hit, but also because we assume this could break again with the next theme update if we don’t get these working properly as the theme intends :\

After updating to Version 4.6 of Wordpress, There is a jQuery conflict that is causing issues with multiple plugins. The error is below. There’s a new issue. Everything is updated, but now I can’t edit anything in the pages with Visual Composer or Classic Mode. There are multiple errors when trying to edit anything.

Presales Queastion: I currently use a theme that allows selecting whether I want a row displayed on mobile/desktop/tablet so i can make a row on a page for mobile and one for desktop. The settings are on a tab in Row Settings inside Visual Composer …. does uDesign have this similar functionality? Thanks!

as far as i can tell, that is not a feature in visual composer, the theme designer has modified the VC elements. None of my other sites with VC have that feature. Do you have a backend demo available?
Oh, I thought you were asking about a native to VC feature, in that case it wouldn’t be available with my theme if this is something being offered specific to another theme. We don’t have backend demo, sorry.

Are there global navigation menu options to arrange the horizontal navigation menu at the top to have a multi-column link list? For example, what is done on https://www.wellcentive.com/?

if you’re talking about “Mega menu” style navigation, then no, the default theme menu is just a single column simpler menu just like you see it in the demo sites. If you need mega menus there are many plugins that offer that functionality that should be compatible with the theme, one such plugin would be “Uber menu” for example.

I’ve inherited a website using the U-Design (version 1.4.2), from what I can tell the original developer made a lot of changes to the CSS etc since the site looks nothing like your demo. Is there a way to update to the latest version of U-Design (for security reasons) without losing these customization?

please refer to the update instructions HERE.
First you need to know what changes previous developer did, for that I’ve referenced (follow the above link) a couple of tools you could use to determine which files were changed and how. If you need that older version 1.4.2 for comparison please email me, You can send me an email through my Profile page.
Once you know what changes were made you will have to try to re-apply them using a U-Design “child” theme which is also available in the support forum, if you can’t find it just ask there and we’ll give you further instructions.

Hello my costumer wants to purchase this theme but we have some questions about this theme before. are you theme supports the folowing wish that my costumer asks me? if not can you tell me what item supports and what not: Maybe you have another theme that supports most of them items.
