Hi I am using Magento v2.1.1 and have Porto v2.3.4.1
Do I need to unzip both of the following files to my magento webroot, or just the first one? It is unclear whether I also need the patch from the install instructions.
Porto Theme.zip
Porto Theme(Magento 2.1 Patch).zip
Since the patch is not labeled 2.1.x like the 2.0.x patch, I am assuming that it does not need to be installed on Magneto 2.1.1. Please respond to clarify this.
Thanks.
Please upload and unzip Porto Theme.zip to your server where inlcude your Magento installation, open your SSh and run command to active Porto. Then apply theme patch for Magento 2.1.
Regads
Thank you for your quick response this is helpful. Please update the installation section of your documents to indicate specifying that patch for Magento 2.1 should also be applied to Magento 2.1.1 after unzipping and activating the Porto Theme.zip.
Yes, you should do that. Pls contact me if you need any further question
Regards
On future theme updates will I need to apply the Magento 2.1 patch again?
You No need to apply theme patch again

I did some testing for load times and the results are not all that great, can you please comment and indicate if you have a plan to improve load times? On less powerful mobile devices the load times may be even greater.
Cart / Checkout – Completion / Page Load times test:
(Range of 3 time trials – without clearing browser cache)
(Test on reasonably powerful business laptop with good wifi)
For all browsers main page loads in about 4 seconds on my laptop. Ideally this should be 3 or under.
Results for the next tests do not look very appealing, especially with adding an item to cart. Most other demos have an items added and number displayed to the quick view mini-cart in 1-2 seconds max.
I like your product and I believe in you guys, so I hope you are working on significantly improving these load times. I have not tested these load times in production (as I just purchased), but I hope they are much better than the demos.

Thanks for using Porto,
The speeed issue is a known issue of Magento 2, it still can not bring customers satisfaction. There are some common reasons:
- Your web server
- Overgrown database & logs
- Slowness of Magento default cache engine,
- Extension overload
- Sizes of images on the site
- Cache

Thanks for you comments. I am just speaking from observations on the official Porto live demos for Magento 2 at
http://www.newsmartwave.net/?theme=porto_mgWhich I assume would be optimized, like other live demos for other Magento 2 themes, so that the bullet points you mention in your comment above have less of an impact.
Six seconds to add an item to the Quick View – Mini-cart (on a Porto live demo) is too long a time in comparison to other live demos that take 1-2 seconds and that operate under the same conditions i.e. Magento 2 (with all its deficiencies).
I am hoping that,
1. The point I am making here is recognized instead of being directed away as a Magento 2 deficiency.
2. So that the source of the issue can be addressed with improvements and updates to the Porto theme, so that item load time are comparable to other Magento 2 themes.
3. On my decent production server, I have significantly better load time performance, that puts me on par or performing better than other Magento 2 themes.
I believe in you, and I hope that points 1 and 2 in this comment are important priorities for the developers of the Porto theme for Magento 2. I you can bring these point up at a managers/developers meeting I would appreciate it.
Thanks.
1. What is the earliest and latest IOS version that is supported? I ask because I notices on my old iphone 4s, ipad 2 – 1024×768 (portrait position) , and ipad mini (from 3 years back), that there were several glitches loading the demos (including that I could not got to the shopping cart from the mini-cart menu, because the bottom of the mini-cart menu gets cut out). (This also happens on my T440s Lenovo laptop (1920×1080) on both chrome and firefox). Updating IOS version is a pain for most and it is common to stay on the stock IOS version if things aren’t broken. People buy more often now from mobile devices so this is important.
2. Are all the demos on your website using the latest Porto release?
3. I also noticed that the documentation in the latest purchase download (v2.3.4.1) is several version ahead of the online documentation. The online documentation is often more easy to access. Is there a plan to keep the online documentation for magento 2 up to date at http://www.newsmartwave.net/magento2/porto/documentation/
Thanks for using Porto,
1. Pls open new ticket at https://smartwave.freshdesk.com/helpdesk to get the check for your issue
2. Yes, we use Porto latest version on all demos
3. Yes, we will update documentation asap
Regards
I appreciate your response. I will open a new ticket for 1.
There is no way to know other than the change log section, if the documentation is behind. ...So people may easily use outdated documentation online without even knowing it. So always keeping the online documentation up to date for Magneto 2 is important.
Thanks.
Yes, we are aware of the importance of keeping the online documentation up to date. We will try to update the guide asap

Additionally, I would like to ask about:-

In product view for demo 8 with Magento 2.1.0 and Porto 2.3.2, I want to:-
1-Move compare/wishlist to top (before custom block) 2-Show social share icons
Related product in side bar seems to have some js issue because when I mouse over on related products images, the rollover images shows beneath base image. It should show in place of base image
Thanks for using Porto,
1. You should edit file app/design/frontend/Smartwave/porto/Magento_Catalog/layout/catalog_product_view.xml
2 . Sorry, social share feature is not currently available
3. Regarding related product hover issue, how can i check this pls?
Regards
3. check thedevelopers.website

After customer login, the mobile ‘Account’-menu shows all links twice (the ‘Sign Out’-link even 3 times). Tested this on your demo pages where this also happens.
THanks for using Porto,
Could you please purchase support extension to get further support? Your 6 months of support period is now expired. Once you purchase support extension, please contact us through themeforest support page again with your issue details.
Regards,
Good morning, I have to decide about the purchase. - I found a difficulty when you visit a page of an article from a cell phone, it’s hard to to scroll the page because the picture occupies almost the entire screen and does not allow vertical scrolling of the page. - For the installation there is also a complete quickstart magento 2? - SSH access is strictly necessary?
Best regards
Thanks for interested in Porto,
Let me answer all your questions here:
1. We have checked our theme on several browsers of devices, pls share me the link you are refering now.
- For the installation, there are a complete quickstart package for Magento available.
2. It’s quite impossible to have a Magento2 running without access and some knowledge of SSH. The amount of work going in to server configuration and the actions that can only be run via SSH like file deployment, setting development/production modes etc would be near impossible to run without SSH access.

Thanks for your reply,
Could you pls let me know which device you are using ? We did test Porto on several devices and it works well.

I tried on Xiaomi mi 5 chrome and firefox, samsung s3 chrome. If you want I make a video like demo.
Thanks for your video,
We will check this issue and update to demo

Good morning,
I look forward to the change, so I proceed to the purchase
thank you
This is not theme issue. On mobile device, its same for default Magento theme. If you have Luma theme installed, you can check how product page scroller works on mobile.
Regards
I saw that with the default theme Luma the Pages of products scroll.
So I thought that if it works with the default theme and does not work with the theme Porto the problem is the Porto theme.
I did not understand whether it is one demo problem or even if you purchase the problem remains.
I think is a big problem because it restricts the use of the mobile.
Regards
Its maybe because you are trying to scoroll on product image, which allows only horizontal scroll.
Regards
I wish it worked well as in default theme Lumia.
If your finger goes horizontally to change image, if it goes vertically to scroll the page.
I think I explained well. I apologize but maybe I do not speak English very well.
Regards
We will check this issue carefully and get back to you with any update on this asap
Regards
We have tested this issue in Magento Luma default on Android and IOs mobile for several times. But how scroll function works, is same in Porto theme. Could you pls check your Luma theme again ?
Thanks for your time and your patience!

This issue still exists in native magento files. Pls refer this post https://github.com/magento/magento2/issues/5302
Regards
thanks for the reply. I do not know why but to me using the default theme also works well vertical scroll. Tomorrow I make you a video for you to see.
Yes, but this is a problem in Magento files surely. Pls feel free to ask us any question you may have.
Regards
Good morning, I made a video to show you that the Luma theme works well
https://youtu.be/3KoY0Zz_fGgI apologize for the insistence. My comment was just to make you improve your theme.
good job Best regards
This is surely an issue of Magento. Did you try to check this post https://github.com/magento/magento2/issues/5302? Could you pls send me the link to your magento luma. Then i can check this also

How can I change the cart icon in the header ? I understand it is a font and styling is done via the files in: \app\design\frontend\Smartwave\[mychildtheme]\Magento_Checkout\web\css\source\module\ , but I am not sure exactly where/how to add another icon and where to select it to be displayed instead of the shopping bag.
Using Magento 2.1.1, Porto 2.3.4.1 with header Type 8.
Thanks for using Porto,
You can chang cart in the header using below sample css into Customization Setting:
.minicart-wrapper .action.showcart:before,
.minicart-wrapper .action.showcart.active:before { content: '\f814'; }
REgards
Thank you very much, it works perfectly. Are there other options for the cart icon, or how can I add a custom icon ?
Also, it seems the code above doesn’t apply the change when browsing from a mobile device ?
Pls open new ticket at https://smartwave.freshdesk.com/helpdesk/ to get the check for that
REgards
Not seeing the change on mobile devices was a caching issue and was fixed. However, I’m still interested in editing/replacing the cart icon with a custom design, is a ticket necessary for that ? Maybe others are interested in this as well.
So, you will need to edit file app/design/frontend/Smartwave/porto/Magento_Checkout/web/css/source/module/_minicart.less
Regards
Can you please explain what to change exactly in _minicart.less so I can change the icon used ? I tried to change these two lines but to no effect:
@_dropdown-toggle-icon-content: @icon-mini-cart,
@_dropdown-toggle-active-icon-content: @icon-mini-cart,
At the moment I am using Font Awesome 4.6.2 for some other icons across the page but not sure how to change the cart one with one from Font Awesome.
In _minicart.less, y ou will see the following content
@_dropdown-toggle-icon-content: @icon-mini-cart, @_dropdown-toggle-active-icon-content: @icon-mini-cart
theme will get the icon from: app/design/frontend/Smartwave/porto/web/css/source/_variables.less

Thank you !

I already opened a ticket with you over a week ago, posted my ftp and admin details and you’ve done nothing to address this issue.
this is on MAGENTO 2.1.1
You should read my ticket – Porto was installed on a FRESH magento 2.1.1 installation on a staging site. No other themes were installed, so don’t know what you are talking about “ultimo” ? By the way, layered navigation WAS buggy when I first installed onto fresh magento 2 and I could never get it working properly – I am referring to SW Extensions layered nav. Also, please update your documentation to reflect 2.1.1 . I found that when importing the demo it never seemed to match with your online information.
Thanks for your reply,
Everybody know that In magento 2.1.x, they moved some elements’s position . However, Import function fof theme on Magento 2.1 is same with other versions. Pls check the comment in your ticket.

I’m interested in purchasing Porto theme for a ecommerce website in operation since 2011, but I want to know if all theme elements are compatible with Magento 1.7.02, and if with the license I can install to 2 different instances. I have a test site set up on a different server, so I can test design element changes and then if satisfied make changes on our ecommerce site. Please let me know. Thank you.
Thanks for interested in Porto theme,
Yes, our theme is fully compatible with Magento 1.7.x. Regarding your question about license, cccording to the ThemeForest license each regular license entitles you to use the theme in a single website, but you can also install the theme on your test server (e.g. on localhost) for testing purposes (that version shouldn’t be available to the public).

Is it possible to reduce the height of the image on the product page? my pics are horizontal so I’ll have a lot of blank space…
Thanks for interested in Porto,
In Porto M1 theme, You can configure the theme to keep the original aspect ratio of the product images. Height of the images will be calculated automatically based on width.
The theme can also resize the image to make it square (Magento’s default behavior) – empty space will be filled with white color.

Hi,
I am about to purchase theme for Magento 2. If I purchase it directly from here, how will I get to know if we have downloaded it for M2 or M1.
Also, the sizing swatches seems to be an extension & not part of the theme. Why are you showing it as part of the theme when it isn’t ?
Thanks for interested in Porto,
Let me answer all your questions here:
1. Once purchased, You will get the theme package including both M1 and M2 package files directly from the Downloads section in your Themeforest page.
2. No, we dont use any 3rd party Color swatches extension. We use Color Swatches of Magento default. However, you will need to apply theme patch for this feature if you want to use it on your Magento 1.9.x
Regards
Awesome, thanks.
Pls feel free to ask us any question you may have. It’s our pleasure to support you.
Regards
Hi,
Thanks.
Just in case if we go with M1, do you have any guide to apply the theme patch for the color / size swatches theme ?
Is it possible to make size/color options visible in the category page as it is visible in M2, where as the same options aren’t visible in M1.
Thanks for your reply,
We offer the patch theme for Color Swatches Products. You will need to upload this theme patch if you want to use color swatches features. This is core functionality of Magento default. Pls try to refer this http://www.venustheme.com/configurable-swatches-guide-for-magento-1-9-1/

HI, How to show Sold Out instead of the add to cart button?
Thanks for using Porto,
“Out of stock” message is also displayed in the category view. If product is out of stock, the message replaces the “Add to car” button. You can change Out Of Stock message to Sold Out by using Translate Inline feature of magento default.
Regards
Hello i have set the quantity to 0 but on frontend is displayed “add to cart button” Regards
Thanks for using Porto,
This is not theme related, You may need to flush Magento cache to see that message ” Out of Stock” in your store.

1st 2 Sliders repeats when you reduce view to 67% and less. I can’t get support to (1) fix the code or (2) send me the demo image so I see dimensions to make my image the same size. If anyone here can help PLEASE email me the solution to shebafoods at gmail dot com. The site is africanmealsonwheels.info, same image on slider 2 & 3. It repeats on slider 2. Thanks in advance for your attention.
replaced all < and > with = so the code shows. The code for the 1st 2 sliders is:
