Hi There, I took a look at your theme and I have a question. the fusion builder has some pre-built templates, When I choose the home shop 1 for example, it says: are you sure you want to change as this action cannot be reversed. Why is that ? and more importantly, it will only change for that current page right ? Also the one I have doens’t seem to come with woo commerce plug in. If I want to create a single shopping page, can I just create a new page with that pre-built template and then activate/configure woo commerce ? Your help is highly appreciated Many thanks Andrea

We’ve not tested that ourselves so cannot guarantee it, however it should be fine. If an issue does arise, we ask that you contact the plugin developer to see if it is a known issue with themes and if there is a resolution. And you can post on our support forum with any details and we can check it out and see if we can resolve it. A majority of the time it is something minor that can be changed.

Previous comments brought me to your website with the explanation how to solve this with your host. I contacted my host and everything should be fine. When I use the architecture theme and change the fusion slider to layer slider on the home page then it does not display the slider – (as per settings at bottom of home page in fusion builder)?? Also, how do I change only the home page so that the menu displays on top and does not slide from the bottom?

Yes the sliders are assigned per page, so scroll down below the content field, and make sure you change out the slider type to “layer slider” and then choose your “layer slider name” in the drop downs.

Slider placement (above or below the slider) can be done in theme options in header sections, or individually per page in page options.

Yes… I have done all of this, but when I do change the settings to the layer slider then no slider displays!!
I even tried inserting it as a fusion builder element at top of page instead of the aforementioned method and that don’t work either!!!! Is there not a specific setting somewhere on this page since the home page menu styling differs from the rest of the pages???
and yes… I did create a layerslider with unique name first…
As long as both slider type and slider name are selected, the slider will show, for example, see both fields in red: http://d.pr/i/1dzEM
tHe field in blue controls if the slider is above or below the menu.
As long as those are set it will work. If they are not, then something is messing with it, 3rd party plugin, or simply a slider configuration issue.

It feels like I speaking to the deaf. Yes I know how it works, and yes I did set it up perfectly! And now my support has apparently lapsed and I refuse to pay the cost of the template again to get support when I only use it for one site!!!! Why dont you send me a mail I can reply to, then I will give you back-end login.

It sounds like a possible JS error, which would prevent the slider from loading. It’s likely specific to your site/page, not something that we can debug for you via this medium. We do require all support requests to be submitted via our ticketing system. If you purchased Avada after September 15th 2015 and your support period has expired, you can find all the steps on how to purchase an extension here:

The paid support program is an Envato initiative, not something that we introduced ourselves. Thanks for stepping up and giving everyone a little feedback regarding v5.0! Always wonder why no beta tester never posts anything here on Themeforest 
After I read the blog posts about v5.0 I come to think it was only to release a plugin to go up against VC etc and not so much about theme advancement and improvements. After waiting for v4.0 to be released and being disappointed with the progress I didn’t jump in and purchase. One only hopes that v5 will give us very…very patient buyers some good reason to push the button.
I really need to build and release a site asap but still awaiting after months, which now puts us behind the eight ball leading into the Christmas season. Once hope this changes very soon!
Almost forgot to ask. Which slider included with Avada is the lightest? Regarding speed.

The first intended purpose behind building a brand new Fusion Builder is to:
- Create a vastly improved foundation for builder extensibility and 3rd party modularity
- Significantly improve performance and the overall resource footprint
- Significantly improve customisation options
- Significantly improve usability, design and layout options for page/post content
- Significantly improve the number of configurable options and combinations thereof, for builder management and design decision making
- Significantly improve and streamline the Avada codebase
- Stand alone modularity
- Foundations for the new Front End version of the builder, in development
- Post Type management
And the list goes on.
Before adding in tons of new elements to the builder, we have to lay the foundations for logical and sensible future development. Simply lumping in a host of new builder elements for the sake of fanfare and fireworks is unwise and defeats the entire purpose of this exercise.
It is evident that some have zero understanding of what is involved in creating a product that is long term in intention and by design. The developmental process to undertake something like this is colossal, intricately planned out and strategically executed. Man-hours stretches into the tens of thousands of hours
We have not created a product (Fusion Builder) to compete with other builders. We have created a product (Fusion Builder) that propels Avada as a design and management tool beyond what is currently possible, and as it stands, Avada is already highly flexible. An organic growth path for Avada and future developments.
Now to answer your question:
“Can you name a SINGLE new ‘builder element’ you have introduced for V5?” [SIC]
Well, it is evident that you spent hardly any time testing the new Fusion Builder for the sake of a blindfolded need for bells and whistles.
Here are a few:
- New Portfolio element
- New FAQ Element
- New section separators with unique design and styling cues
- Nested Column management
- The Builder library – whereby you can save and manage saved content, not limited to, saving individual elements, columns, containers and/or entire pages for reuse, anywhere, any time.
- History state control
- Demo management – Import entire demos or only a page from any one that you choose
And the list goes on.
The Builder aside, the improvements and new features added to Avada itself as a result of all of the tireless development work undertaken for Avada 5.0 is significant as well, and not limited to, performance improvements, custom color scheme management, a new header 7 version, a 70% smaller file footprint, new demos, element visibility dependent on screen size options
And the list goes on
The Fusion Builder 1.0 (for Avada 5.0) is simply the beginning of an amazing product that is going to continue and get better and better. One of our main goals was to create it in such a way that it’s modular and extendible. There will be entire sets of add ons that you can use with Fusion Builder. We are already working with 3rd party developers to start and build an add on library.

In addition, the reason why beta testers do not post comments, is because beta testing is private, and the guidelines state it is suppose to stay private. This is a paid product, and every beta tester we add is suppose to follow those guidelines.
It is often talked about in the Facebook Group, and that is allowed since it is a private Facebook group made by and controlled by Avada customers.
That all sounds great, excellent detailed summery! but just wanted to know which slider included with Avada would be the lightest regarding site speed? I have read some tests but not all sliders you include I can find tests on.

I believe the Fusion Slider is the lightest. It has the least amount of features, but it is a good option for full screen/width sliders with a background and some text overlay. For anything more advanced, I would recommend using Revolution Slider. It has the most features and still seems to clock reasonable load times.

We are starting a new project with Avada, and this one has quite a lot of things that we are going to edit via child theme, I see that Avada 5.0 is coming.. Any idea if we are talking about months? weeks? days?

Does Avada have automatic update from within Wordpress? I’m so tired of the update procedure I have on a current theme and would like to know how Avada theme is best updated?
Also with my current theme I always have to update the language files for strings that hasn’t been changed in the update, like “view cart” and other things in the theme that is just the same. This really annoys me, and I would like to know how Avada function in this respect, with the language update?

Hmm, this parameter isn’t added by Avada itself, it’s most likely coming from your multilingual plugin (WPML/Polylang). Do you have your site translated into multiple languages?

If you are on WP 4.6+ you do need to be on Avada 4.0+, which is probably the issues you see, jQuery was updated in WP so had to be updated in themes and plugins also. This also depends on how you built your site, for example did you customize code by making a child theme, or just just use our built in options?

You can translate Avada’s backend strings using a .po file, you don’t need to use WPML. Our translation files are curated by the community, so while some of the languages have been fully translated, there are some that are only partially translated. You can find the .po files in this GitHub repository:
