I think you are using the old porto theme created by “Spyropress”. We “SW-Themes” have developed the porto theme with the new design and with all new features added.

If you want to use the latest and updated porto theme then you have to buy new licensed theme from ThemeForest here:

Error 500 is mostly related to the server issue. Please contact the hosting provider to solve this issue.

Error 500 is an internal error caused by the theme. The site works fine when I revert back to the previous version. Passing the buck to the hosting provider is an easy out.

Sorry to say but this is related to server issues For more please check Optimal Server Requirements For Theme:

• Server Type: Linux with cPanel ( Bluehost hosting Recommended ) • PHP version = 5.4 or greater • Apache = 2.2 or greater • MySQL = 5.5 or greater • PHP Memory Limit = 256mb • PHP max_execution_time = 600 seconds • mod_rewrite Apache module = Enabled If you are installing through WordPress Theme section, make sure your PHP Upload File Size limit is 40MB, since the theme .zip file is around 40MB

You can use the WordPress Reset plugin to remove the totally from the site. https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-reset/ After reset please simply go to Appearance >> Theme >> and delete the Porto theme.
