Two quick ones (I hope)! Searched and couldn’t find any information to help me with this.
1. Using fancy boxes to display images, on mouse over there’s a thin bar at the bottom of the image that comes in from the left. Is it possible to disable this bar?
2. Is it possible to customize the masonry grid sizing? I know it’s possible to change between square based (500×500 px default size) and photography based (450×600 px default size), but I’m looking to display more items per row in full width masonry mode and get a better overview of several items.

1. Add this into the custom css box in the Salient options panel:
.nectar-fancy-box:after { display: none!important; }
2. Changing the column number further would require some custom development at this time – but the photography sizing does indeed allow for an extra column to be shown as compared to the square based grid

2. I suspected that would be the case. Is it possible to (easily) adjust the height of the photography sizing grid? Otherwise I’ll might some other workaround!
(To clarify, the photography allows an overview I’m happy with, but the standing format of the photography sizing I find is not optimal for displaying laying photos!)

Hey again! You could customize the sizing in the functions.php file at the nectar_add_image_sizes function – but after doing so you’d need to run this plugin to regenerate the images https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

It’s the MemberMouse plugin that uses the jquery UI script. I can see on the site that the script isn’t being loaded… if I switch to any other theme the script loads correctly? Thanks in advance!

Salient does indeed use jQuery UI for the admin panel meta boxes – but it’s enqueuing the WP included version so it should work with other plugins which use it as well. Since it’s not an open source plugin could you email me a copy for testing so I can look into the issue further?

Glad to hear! I don’t know what caused it to occur on your site but I added in a CSS fix and will investigate further as to find the root
On your “Classic” demo (http://themenectar.com/demo/salient/), the mobile menu is not of of the flyout variety. A recent download only gives the flyout option; where can I choose to go back to the classic menu, rather than the flyout?

Is sorting the blog by categories/tags/type possible? Would love to see it done in the same way as the portfolio items. We have a mix of video posts, written posts, interviews, whitepapers etc that we’d love people to be able to dynamically sift through like the portfolio section. Any chance of this any time soon?

The “save” button is not working with visual composer. When I’m editing text on a page using visual composer I’m unable to save anything. Yes, I am using Salient VC version 4.12.1 and WordPress version 4.6.1.
And was it previously working for you or since you’ve started to using the theme have you been encountering this?
I was previously using the Avada theme, and then I switched to Salient. Salient Visual Composer has not been working correctly since installing. I’m able to use the “save” button on certain elements like when using the “button” element, but it is not working on several others like the “text block” element.
If you’ve also ensured that no other third party plugins you may have active aren’t causing this, could you please open a ticket in regards with your admin credentials so I can take a look at what’s going on? themenectar.ticksy.com/

Hello, i have a question about text with icon element. I have created a page where there is a row of these elements. i have divided the row to 4 columns and each has individual text with icon. One of the elements has a heading that is 1 word and is very long, when the window is getting smaller, the element on the right overlaps the long heading. is there a way to fix this? Do i just have to use hyphenation to have the heading on 2 lines? Hey, the business demo came out in Salient v7.6 – if you’re using an older version you would need to update in order to get access to it and the new features such as the fullscreen team member style

You’d either need custom javascript to set the height or you could set all the parent elements of that frame to all be 100% to allow it to scale up correctly as you’d expect. If you got for the parent method, you could also turn on the full page row option to make it easier (less items to target)

Found a new bug – when tapping a phone number link on mobile (tel:number) and clicking “cancel” the whole site turns white, and you can’t see it unless you reload. Safari iOS and Chrome iOS.

After doing an SEO audit on my site http://stambaughdesigns.co it shows an EXTREMELY low HTML to Text ratio on pages that have mostly text.
Is there an SEO fix in the works for Salient? I’d hate to switch themes (been with Themenectar for 4 years) but I need better SEO. Perhaps removing embedded scripts and styles? Thanks.
Hey, there’s no quick thing that can be done to change the ratio. Using different elements could help a bit, however any theme that uses Visual Composer or another page builder like likely have a similar amount of markup used on the front
Well that’s a shame now, isn’t it? If a theme isn’t SEO compatible in 2016 it shouldn’t be on the market.
By no means does that one factor alone make the theme incompatible with SEO, and again – quickly checking any of the themes on ThemeForest through an online ratio calculator will yield similar results. Please try out some others to compare using your own tool or a free one such as https://www.site24x7.com/text-ratio.html – even running the WordPress stock theme shows only a few single digit percentage points higher, which is not including any elements you’d find in a premium theme.

Not ready to show my site just yet. However, I can show you the same issue on your demo themes themselves. Does not really have to be my own site.

However, it does not work. After blocking the files I checked a day later and google robots.txt tester tool says allowed!

Hey seseskiz, are you talking about the exact URL placed above with the string “{query}” entered as the search term or are you saying that whenever a query is searched for that does not exist, you’d prefer to send the user to a different 404 page rather than the default no results found page?

What is best solution to block these urls from search engines so they wont return a 404 not found error.

I have just replayed to this and some how my replay does not show. So, I’ll type it again. If for some reason decides to show the first replay too, and you have two replays just blame it on themeforest lol

I have read what you sent me. And that article is using a code that was written and tested for Genesis themes. And the author advices to check the code if we are using a different theme before making permanent changes. Would you please check the code and see if it will work with salient and all the plugins that came with salient? I want to be sure before I thought the functions.php, i to avoid breaking anything on the site
My goal is to return an actual not found 404 for those urls. Not a 200 OK page that has 404! which is what I have right now.
If you know an alternative way to make those actual 404 pages please do let me know!

If it was a simple url, i could delete it and have it return a 404. But in this case I am not sure how to do that.
Hey, that snippet actually wont work as is in Salient but it shows the method needed to accomplish it – unfortunately I can’t provide the mod here because it goes outside of the scope of the theme

I found a way to fix this. and It looks like it was theme issue. Can you double check my code and see if its all good? I modified the search.php file
