So I just activated my theme using my purchase code. I noticed afterwards in the Dashboard it says that ” The full version of Ark is disabled until you activate your License for this domain.”. So I’m currently working on a demo server, and when I’m done I’ll be uploading the site to the client’s server. The url will change, does this mean I need to buy a new license again when that happens?
Also, after I attempted to activate, it says “Your License is currently active on a different domain.” Does this mean someone else has my license and used it?

Don’t worry, you have 5 license changes included and if you run out of them, simply shoot us email and we will reset the counter. Also the license is unique for you and can be active only at 1 domain per time. So most probably you activated it on your localhost and then on your production server.

We have 20+ blog variations in Ark, which can be customized into infinite amount of blogs (you never seen this kind of customization before). But your example is highly-ajax-driven blog. In current situation, we do not offer this. It might be implemented in a future, but since we have lots of request and need to prioritize and Ark is really huge and sophisticated theme, it might be a matter of months before we get into this, so I would recommend you to not rely on this feature.

Most probably your server upload limit is too low. I would recommend you to install The Ark via FTP. There is tutorial about how to do it.
Also please make sure, that:
1.) You have PHP 5.5+
2.) You have 128mb+ of PHP memory
If you struggle with anything we got your back covered, just post a ticket at our support center and include your WP and FTP logins.

i have purchased item on 27-Dec. Today i have also download latest version which was updated on 4-Jan-2017. I am trying to install theme from last 2 days. But after Install and Activate of 2 plugin named “Ark Theme Code Plugin” and “Fresh Framework” Wordpress was crashed and give me error that Enable to handle request. and Wordpress got stuck. nothing work until i can delete those 2 plugins files from server through FTP. After removing this 2 plugin files Wordpress again work properly. My Wordpress version is latest 4.7. let me know what should i do? Waiting for your response as i need to make it live this ASAP.

Ark has been carefully tested on various server environments (we take this seriously) and only required criteria are these:
1.) PHP 5.5 + (WordPress recommended is PHP 5.7+, but Ark is not so strict, 97% of web hostings has PHP 5.5+) 2.) PHP memory 128MB+
You can set these 2 things via your hosting settings (cPanel usually). If you do not have access to these, please contact your hosting support and ask them about setting them.
If you still struggle, do not worry, we will do our best assistance keep you on track and running. Simply open a ticket at our support center. I also feel that it is important to note, that we accept all refunds no-questions-asked. So thank you for your trust, we will take care and you are safe with us.

Demo sites (in general, not only at Ark) are full of dependencies. For example there is page which is showing blog posts. These blog posts have images etc, so chunking the content into pages is not something which come out of the box.
But we though this trough as well, so we created a 220+ Section Blocks like About, Services, Contact Us, Pricing etc (and tons of variations of these). You can search between them in fulltext mode, you see their screenshots and you can insert them lightfast by one click, so this is usually a foundation when you start building your site.
Also the demo installer is working smoothly and having progress bar, so you can actually see the status of your demo import.
Anyway we will discuss the idea about splitting the demos with team members and will try to find best solution how to achieve this, while still keeping The Ark as a great user experience

1. How do I change the background images on my site. I have installed the Gym Demo template but I can’t find where I can change the background images. Can you please help me.
2. Also I would like to get rid off the slider in the demo template but every time I try to create a static hero banner, I struggle adjusting the image to fit 100% irrespective of the screen size (full screen/full width).

We take special care to make both things as easy as possible.
1.) Background is set up at Section element, in system tab “Box Model”. This system tab can be found on all elements and allows you to set backgrounds. Video here
2.) Fullscreen sections are in the same system tab “Box Model” as well. At the bottom, you can set height of the element / section as a percentage of window height. For your comfort you can even add or deduct number of pixels to match the navigation. Video here

Any other users here have a trick to getting Fresh Builder to work? I have the plugin installed, theme activated, even increased the memory limit and it never loads.
I have a support request in.
Was looking forward to an easy to use page editor, but really disappointed in this theme so far.
Looks like Fresh Builder is dependent on activation, and even though I activated, the activation was out. Now it’s back and seems to be working, but I’m concerned that if the Builder is tied to activation, and there activation server is wonky, then my site isn’t going to work properly.

The Fresh Builder should fully work without any license activation, out of the box. Its related to your server configuration. If you still experience the problem, please open a ticket and include yout WP and FTP login.

Great theme. Is there a way to add just a simple icon from the icon menu (custom fonts). All the icon elements have global formatting that I don’t need in certain instance. Just trying to create a simple icon box

Yes, of course. Every icon element is fully customizable and you can set tons of colors (icon, background, border, hover stats, etc…). So simply do this:
1.) Insert “Icon” element
2.) Inside the element select “Icon type 1 (static)” (1 of 4 variations)
3.) Select your icon from icon picker (with fulltext search, containing more than 4000 icons)
4.) Select your wished colors by color picker
This way you can create icon style of your wish. And I’m not even talking about the possibilities to customize font sizes, paddings, margins etc just by the builder interface.

Hello, I had 1 licence of Ark and I want to use it for my customers web. Problem is, that this customer had his own webpage full of content and wants to build sample of new web on my domain. What could I do, If I want to build new site at newweb.com and if the customers approves it, than move it to oldweb.com? I need to activate licence of Ark to build sample web, bud I worry about moving to customers web – this licence it will be activated on my sample web. Its any chance to do that? Many thanks.

The licensing system is pretty simple but though-trough, so do not worry, you are safe, because there are 5 domain transfers possible.
You simply do this:
1.) Activate license at new-web.com
2.) Build your web
3.) Move your web to old-web.com
4.) Activate (the same) license on old-web.com
5.) Tadaa, the license will be automatically active only at “old-web.com” now

You need to configure your site URL in WordPress to match your real URL, which you are using. Your real URL is “www.brandbox.asia”, but your site url is “brandbox.asia”. So the icon fonts are loaded from brandbox.asia and the loading is prevented, because of your server configuration.
You can change this in WP Admin -> Settings -> General

This is pretty easy, you simply need to select your header type to “Vertical Classic with Submenu”. The option is located in WP Admin -> Ark -> Headers.
For better comfort, we create 15 pre-defined headers, so make sure that you are editing the correct one. The vertical headers are also pre-defined, so you can simply choose the “Default Classic – Vertical Left” or “Default Classic – Vertical Right” headers in your Sitemaps / Page settings.

Also most probably you are uploading the theme via your WP Admin screen, but you do not have PHP file upload limit big enough. So I would recommend you to Install your theme via FTP

Regardless of how I configure an author.php file, the …/author/username page does not change.

Fastest way for your changes will be using the Sitemap system – Blog Archive and conditioning your code with statement like “if is_author()”.

Do you mean adding in an “is author()” conditional in the PHP for custom loop in the sitemap options? Does that mean I’ll have to condition it for other taxonomies like categories etc as well?
What if I’d like a different page configuration for author pages? By extension, for categories and tags as well. How should I configure this, or is this on the roadmap for release?

In current situation, all the archives ( author, category, tag, etc) are merged into the “Blog Archive”. We tried opposite approach in our old themes, but almost no-one was interested in this functionality and it was only confusing users.
Anyway we figured out 2 approaches for this:
1.) Fastest – Is the IF element with dropzone, so you can differentiate your archives and categories, as I wrote in my first answer
2.) More time demanding – we will add plus button into the sitemap, which allows you to define your own sitemap, which will be shown in case when your custom conditions are met.
1 will work and the IF will be delivered in next update. #2 is much more time demanding, so we cannot give you exact time frame for this. If this is a dealbreaker for you, we will of course accept your refund, no questions asked.

Just released the version 1.5.0 containing IF element. You can simply add the IF element to “Blog Archive” in “Sitemap” and then create your conditions, like “is_author(35);”. It should be pretty straightforward when you see the IF element.
