Sorry I just noticed a slight issue with this fix – now all h4 are changing colour with hover rather than JUST h4 links. Would I need to create a separate heading and e.g. h4.1 to use for links and h4 to use for standard headings?

Thanks but unfortunately it did not work. It has improved it but the contact menu title still jumps down between a few pixels of the browser size.
