Loving the theme but would like to know if there is anyway to put a bit more space between the options. I prefer the push buttons overall, but find except for image options, the rest have no space between them. Makes it harder for customer to see the options. I have made the font bigger, but would prefer a bit more of a buffer. Is that possible|?
Also, is it possible to have diferrent image sizes for different options? I know I can change the image size, but wouldn’t want that for all choices as some I need to have images the customer can actually see very well as they are embroidery designs.

p.s. also if I have more then one language I wish to have capability to export/import custom Journal language translations. Because each time I have to go to Journal admin and copy paste translations for (quick checkout module, etc.)

That’s not the cause with the icon – FontAwesome is also loaded in the admin by Opencart so it will work either way, it’s the same icon. I think that’s just a cache issue on your end as we don’t have such issue with that icon, see any of our demo admins.
Regarding the language import/export we don’t think it’s possible unfortunately but we’ll look into it.

Please consider to fix in 2.8.9 the bug we discussed in ticket BGZ-TWE-EYD9. Some languages need longer headings. The theme is super!
Hi, you’ve closed that ticket yourself but indeed the product page has it’s page title options so you can fine tune the title line height there.

Please try it: Settings > Product Page > Title Overflow Keep long names on the same line – turn to OFF = the result is nonalignment in titles and lines in Product page, and all title options settings can help. Not in Product page, not in Carousel, nowhere. You do a great job with the theme! Regards.

Hi, the title container changes its layout if that option is off so it may not have the same height as other titles. This is because the height becomes flexible to accommodate multi-line text.

Hi, you will have to ask the module’s developers how to add it to your site, most likely you just need to add the embed code in the footer template file, which you’ll find in “catalog/view/theme/journal2/template/common/footer.tpl”

As mentioned before by 3 more users, items per row doesnt work correctly on the latest version 2.8.8 (1.5.6.4 oc) When clicking ok button then it resets to 1 and can’t be changed. Please check, I have already reuploaded 3 times the files.

We believe this may have happened with 2.8.8 so please redownload the theme again now and do the update again. Let us know if you have any other issues after the update. Make sure to clear all caches after you do the update.

Okay so I have updated to Newest Journal V2.8.8 and there is still some issues going on with the theme. Also very important question does having quick-view active affect seo in a negative way. I’m wondering this as the majority of the content is simply duplicate from the product page?
(Below are a few problems that I have spent many hours trying to fix and would appreciate if you can help me solve them.)
1. I noticed after the latest update that my sign up newsletter that is in the footer within its own column now gets squeezed in onto itself on phone and smaller devices as the accordion menu does not extent the full width of the window which also causes the side icon to overlap onto the text.
2. Again changes made via setting>global-pages are not reflected on the maintenance page this goes for the footer title and text links as well. when enabling maintenance mode the footer text turns from its regular color and goes light grey regardless of what font color or settings set in settings/global/pages/maintenance page.
3. Still no change since the current update, contacts put into the footer shift completely to the left even though in footer settings the Center Icons Display has been set to on. This happens in maintenance mode only. When turned off the icons align back again into the center and footer text goes back to original color.
4. I continue to have a small black line that appears at the edge of where the menu would be when maintenance mode is activated the main menu also disappears. Again this only happens in maintenance mode.
A fix to these problems would be much appreciated Thanks

The latest theme version includes those improvements, lease redownload the theme now and do the update again. Although rare, a connection issue may affect the zip upload or download. The support system has a pretty big issue. I can’t seem to find any feasible work around either.
I’m an official Opencart support partner. I handle many clients that have Journal installed and, in fact, I have referred and recommend Journal to MANY store owners. I probably have at least 20 clients that personally have used Journal and licensed it under their own name.
If one of my client sites has a problem, the support system requires that requests be made by the person who actually licensed the theme… which in the great majority of cases… will be under my clients name, email and account.
So, in this situation, how do developers hired by the client request support when working with a clients license?
Hi, we need to verify purchase in order to combat piracy. We get lots of emails asking for support from people who can’t prove purchase.
In cases as you describe, the owner of the license can file the ticket on behalf of the developer or entrust the developer with purchase code, it’s the license owner decision.
We’re working on a better support system where we can streamline the ticket access via account creation but at the same block access to non-verified buyers.

Yes, a decision my clients don’t have time to make or even care to think about.
Why not just include a license code field right in Journal itself along with a ‘request support’ button from within the Journal admin. Then, when they request support, you can automatically check the license against the domain in question. Super simple and I don’t have to task my clients (who are usually busy running their businesses) to find all the data necessary to submit a support request.
I understand this isn’t anyone’s concern, I was just telling you our reasons. I also said we’re working on making the ticket submission process easier for all genuine users, I just don’t have an ETA right now.

Hi! Is there a way to show outofstock products at the end of a list? By changing catalog/model/catalog/product.php it works just for the first page. When you browse farther it will be messed up. Of course you need it if you have Journal 2 theme installed. For default opencart you should fulfil just first step.

Hi, that’s not CMS Block issue, it’s the html editor “CKEditor” which may remove some entities from source code (that’s how WYSIWYGs work). We’ve modified its config and everything should be fine in v.2.8.8. Make sure you have the latest theme version installed and don’t forget to clear your browser’s cache as well. I updated to the last version 2.8.8. in opencart 1.5.6.4 but now products in a category ovelap pagination, if I have more than 8 products per page in a category then they also overlap footer.

My Journal theme still won’t update to the latest 2.8.8 My FTP client has worked correctly as the Journal files in opencart now show the correct update date & time in cpanel. You regularly mention clear all cache to solve similar issues. I have cleared cache in my browsers. Is there other cache that needs clearing, if so what cache ?

My web host says that all the files in cPanel have updated correctly via FTP. They have suggested that you might not have changed the text string or field name and that this is why it is not updating correctly ? I’m using opencart 1.5.6.4
Hi, there’s nothing wrong with the update, everyone can update just fine and the version is changed to 2.8.8 as you can see in our demos. Most likely you are missing some files from the update by not overwriting the old ones with the new ones. Or it’s caused by some sort of cache you may be using like CloudFlare or mod_pagespeed. (There’s no way for us that caching system you use).
Try uploading the folders directly via an FTP app like Cyberduck https://cyberduck.io/
