when using the permanent side navigation, such as with http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-business/ is it possible to add any other content besides just the logo, menu, and social icons? For example, I’d like to be able to put the company phone number under the logo.
Hey, you can still add menu items normally, but there isn’t a header layout available that has a widget area directly under the logo, that would require modding to the header.php file
Part of the text get’s cut off on mobile. Is there a setting that is causing this?

Saw the issue with iPhone 7 and Google Pixel
Hey, it seems in your heading line you have html non breaking space entities – causing the browser to see the line as one word which prevents the clipped word from going onto its own line. Can you double check and remove those http://pastebin.com/g19ZiJ5v also – another way to fix it would be to slightly decrease the font size by a few px

Regarding my last question about image hover effects… Can you please add that to your wishlist? It would be great if we can have some kind of hover effect on small images when we link to large ones. Right now when we link to a large image, it is just flat image. The only indicator is the mouse cursor changing to a “finger” click. It would be great to see some kind of visual effect.
Also, can you please focus more on the blog in your future updates? Like for example, it would be great to control the main content’s and the sidebars width and paddings. It would be great to add a separator line on the left of the sidebar to separate it from the main content.
It would also be great to see a new Next and Previous post option. I like how the portfolio is done. Maybe something like this for a blog?
New single post look would be appreciated too.
And more global options in the Salient settings. Instead of page by page options.

And Google is warning now that these AMP pages will not show up in search.

I see, I will ask my boss and see if he would allow me to share the link with you. And no, I found the issue on Google Search Console’s Accelerated Mobile Pages section. The message on GSC is Critical Issue. Fix invalid AMP tags on your page to follow the AMP specifications. AMP pages with invalid AMP tags may appear in Google search results without AMP-specific display features.
Then I tested with https://search.google.com/search-console/amp and it said Missing URL for attribute ‘srcset’ in tag ‘amp-img’. then after testing with this tool I tested with w3c validation tool and saw that it was also giving error for the srcset.
When i look at the source code its empty like this srcset=”” not sure what needs to go here to. It is saying Missing URL for attribute ‘srcset’ in tag ‘amp-img’.
I have tried to upload a different image but that did not help.
The weird thing is its only 3 pages that give error. The rest of the pages are fine and they are validating with AMP testing tool

baught the theme 3 years ago, but just got around to using it.
after installing it, it doesn’t have the demon importer option nor import/export option
Hey cboisworld, if you’re using the theme version from 3 years ago..there was no importer at that time. You’d need to download the current version (8.0) to have access to all the features currently shown

Is there the ability to offer a push and pull/source ordering option, as seen in Bootstrap or Foundation?
I can see the responsive offsets, but unsure this is what I actually need (it also doesn’t appear to work for columns inside full width content rows).
Basically, we should have the ability to decide in what order columns are stacked at certain breakpoints.
Visual Composer doesn’t offer this feature yet, but as soon as the plugin implements such a system – Salient will also

There’s no best size for the Nectar slider or image gallery, it depends on your settings i.e. the height for the nectar slider you’re setting and the width (full width or non). I would suggest you check out the performance optimization guide in regards since what you’re essentially looking for is how to optimize images for the web http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/performance-optimization-guide/

I’m running into a minor issue and I need a solution. I thought this would be rather simple, but I have spent a good deal of time searching these comments hoping to find a similar scenario. I am trying to create a simple link/button that will trigger a image gallery to display. I will probably hide the gallery via css, but I need the link/button to trigger the image gallery to open. The gallery would contain a few images but will only be seen when someone clicks on the link. I would prefer this be done via prettyphoto lightbox. Is there an option I am missing for this? I can trigger prettyphoto to load, but only for a single image. I need several images to be loaded into the gallery. Below is a link to where I am trying to make this happen. – http://www.whitetailbluff.com/rates/ . Within the pricing table I have buttons that say “View Buck Photos”. When the user click’s on this, it will trigger the lightbox photo gallery.

Use magnific for your lightbox script – this can be set in the Salient options panel > functionality tab. Then for your custom gallery call, simply add the classes “magnific” and “gallery” to each of your desired gallery links

Hey Victor, that’s a blog element used in the masonry style. You can set the masonry style from the Salient options panel > blog tab via the “Masonry Style” option. The first URL you’ve listed is using the “classic” style and the second is the “meta overlaid”

This is great. I see that there are only two choices for full colors: Button accent color and Button Accent color #2. Is there a way to add more choices of colors? For example, if I wanted 4 buttons of 4 different colors …
Question: Is there a way to make those colors touch the top and bottom (bleed) of the header?
I’m assuming I can chance the spacing to pull the buttons close enough together for the colors to touch (or is there a way to extend the width of the buttons)?
Hey, more colors would take custom css as of now, but I could provide that for you if you can share your URL where the buttons are added – also making them sit flush on the top/bottom would require some custom development as of now

Hello, wondering what the smartest way is to add new functions to a Salient theme so that it doesn’t get overwritten by WP or Salient updates? Saw the documentation regarding Salient child themes, but also noticed the functions.php file in the child theme is very different. Anytime I add anything to it that works fine in the parent theme, it breaks within the child theme.

I have embedded Instagram into a page, http://www.twotheking.com/media but when I am going on the backend to edit the page, I can’t edit the other rows/columns that have been setup. It appears that once I embed the Instagram code to display the Instagram feed, the other column/row, “Photos” and “Twitter” disappears. Hey one9ooh6, there’s probably some script it’s loading which is causing the issue in the backend – have you tried to use the raw HTML element instead so it doesn’t parse in the editor?
