All right, I’ve been playing with this theme for a week and I can say that it is by far the most advanced theme in terms of layout possibilities. Unbelievable. I’ve been buying themes since 2013, and for the first time I have a feeling that the theme doesn’t tell me what I can do and what I cannot do. You just “mold” the site into whatever shape you want… In a way, it resembles Toolset Layouts plugin but the workflow is much faster. Normally, I have to write quite a lot of custom CSS to customize themes, but in Ark it is not necessary! Convenient settings are practically for every element and the interface is amazing!
Having said that, I would love a filtering option for blog grids with custom taxonomies/fields (similar to portfolio filters). That would be great and I suppose it would not be difficult to do.
I also sent two tickets for minor things. If you have developed such an advanced theme, I suppose you won’t have problems with solving them.

Thank you very much for your kind words! This was exactly our goal when building Ark, we are well aware of the shortcomings of other themes on the market so we have tried to create something better. This is just the beginning though, we concentrate all of our efforts on Ark and completely stopped developing other new themes like we used to in the past. Now that we have Ark, there is no point in diluting our development on other themes since it’s so versatile you can create almost anything. Regarding your blog filtering question, one could bend the portfolio to work and look like a blog in a way. You can create a portfolio category called for example “blog” and then customise the output to look like a blog and have the filters on top. But we will keep your suggestion in mind for future updates and see if we can offer native filtering for blog grids. Yeah, I thought about adapting portfolios. But I will have multiple custom-post types, some of them with cross-type parent-child relationships, so that would get very complicated. Right now, on other sites I use Toolset Views for creating loops with advanced AJAX filters. I like Toolset very much, but the workflow in Ark is very fast, and I can create nicer custom post grids and do it much faster in Ark. I suspect that integrating Toolset Views filters with Ark grids may be difficult or impossible (haven’t tried yet).
At least simple filters based on custom taxonomies would be very helpful at the beginning. I could finish my sites much faster and buy more licenses from you guys.
I also tested a few grid plugins from Codecanyon, and your custom-post grid builder has a much faster workflow and is simply nicer. But the only thing that it misses are filters.
If you go in that direction, I think Ark will be the ultimate theme.

Got most of the elements back by disabling the Fresh plugins and enabling them. Just cannot do anything with any element as the page just refreshes. Can open any element such as Text, header, etc, and can change things, but when pressing Save, background refreshes and changes do NOT get done.

When I click Save Changes under ANY element from your builder, the background just refreshes and the main box I have open does not do nothing. I have tried everything and it was working and stopped just in the middle of doing updates. Frankly this really burst my bubble! I have way too much work on my website to use another theme…

what the heck! I was working on my website and now I cannot even save anything as each element just refreshes page and does not save, This is not a browser issue as I tried several different ones. I was working and making changes on several pages in my multi site network with 50 sites. I did 10, then got to one and could not do anything as it just refreshes. I tried other sites and sites I already made changes to and its the same darn thing.

Hello! Great job with this theme! Just a question for a point that really can’t figure out. I’m using the Default Classic – Static header. I’ve flagged “Make Header background transparent before scrolling down”. Scrolled down and changed the wrapper background do transparent too, but background is always white. How can i have static transparent header that doesn’t scroll with the page? It seems impossible to me Thank You

hi, i have couple of videos which i use Video Lightbox Button to show them on the page, but the issue is that when you click on video, the Lightbox is so big and it goes underneath the header (header cover some portion of the video). is there any way to change the size of the lightbox screen?

Looking to purchase this theme, seems really up my alley as a html coder who has to use wordpress. Question, though, does this theme have a recipe card-like section that sets up the information in an easy to read recipe format with a print button in order for viewers to easily print the recipe for home use, or do you recommend a specific plugin to add this functionality?

As a HTML coder I am sure you will enjoy the freedom Ark offers, especially in terms of being able to customise small details when needed without changing any source code. Regarding your question, we don’t have recipe feature built-in but you could try using a plugin for that – it’s more of a plugin territory I think.

I’m a newbie at creating websites and is currently in learning the whole gig of creating an online store. I’ve already installed plugins such as WooCommerce and AliDropship and have managed to import some products.
The problem is when I view the products, there no button to add the product to cart or to checkout the product. Is there something I’m missing here?

Just below average, you PHP 5.4+, 64mb of memory+, but recommended is at least 128 (for backend editation. For your clients it takes just a 20mb or so).

First of all congratulations for your theme, it is great!
I would like to modify the header to be able to add title tags for example on the logo and add a text next to the side menu. I modify the ark_nabigation.php files in builder / helpers / but nothing is updated.
No cache installed.
What is the problem and what is this file well?

Thank you very much. We do not recommend you to modify the header directly. With the Alt text to logo image – you got us. This is the only image on whole website, which does not support Alt out of the box. But we will add this in next update.
The rest of the things can be done via inserting “Templates” into proper places

Apologies if this question has been asked and answered before…While editing a page, do we need to use the Wordpress built-in Page update button after making changes in the Freshbuilder and clicking the Quick Save or Save buttons? I asked because, every time I use the Wordpress built-in Page Update button, it reloads the entire Fresh builder over and over again, adding more time to page creation/editing. Please let us know the implication fusing the Wordpress Page button or not

So today, somehow my freshbuilder said that it doesn’t work anymore after trying to add a heading to a section. I didn’t think much of it and just refreshed wordpress. Now everything in the backend is still the same and the heading has been added aswell but nothing shows anymore on the page. Not only the page i tried to edit, nothing works at all on the page. It just shows a blank page. Please respond as soon as possible because i only have limited time to finish this project. Thanks.

First please try cleaning front-end cache at:
“Ark > Dashboard > System Status”
On a second try, disable any caching plugins.

Last week you announced to release a new update with advanced gallery functionality (here in comments) and nothing happend. maybe you should proritize your tasks better or avoid announcing / promising something you can’t make.
You need to consider, that some of us also have costumers and have commited to accomplish our work in time..
Don’t get me wrong, your theme ist great! I’m just a bit disappointed about your imformation policy..

We were actually just changing the preview image here (on ThemeForest item page). But due to Envato system it looks like there has been issued update.

@sale972 – I can confirm to you that I am also in the middle of a site migration from another theme to The Ark theme. While it requires some attention to detail and there is no automation involve, the process and output is so seamless. In fact, the migrated page is looking much better and functional than the source. If you will like to take a look at the before and after, I will be happy to share with you privately. You can’t miss it with the Ark theme.
