Cannot add shortcodes columns or images inside text block. Please help me figure out why

I haven’t opened a ticket but need a solution.

There’s no known issue with shortcodes not working in the way you’re describing – if you’re already verified that no third party plugins you may have active are causing this please reach out in regards with your admin credentials so I can take a further look

This theme disables control+left click to open a tab across the entire website, this is a crucial feature that saves a lot of time and hurts user navigation. How can this be disabled?

Im having a problem with the video background nectar slider. Whenever I resize the screen smaller black boxes appear underneath and above the video. Ive tried quite a few things but am struggling to find the answer.

Hey – you need to supply the video in a 16:9 aspect ratio as the field states, you’ve uploaded at a custom extra wide aspect ratio
Thanks for your response, does this ratio work for the nectar slider? as when I have tried this the video doesn’t show up and is just a black rectangle. Does this only work using the home slider option? Thanks for your help
Hey, yes that aspect ratio is also designed to work with the Nectar Slider – currently on your URL i’m seeing the video display without any black bars, have you changed things since posting?

Maybe the problem comes from the combination Salient + Contact 7, because I am using this plugin on so many other sites/themes and it works fine on any mobile devices.

You’ll need to activate the option to disable the full page effect on mobile only – when using forms the touch event on mobile devices will be blocked by the scrolling when keeping the effect on

Good Day, I am having an issue with getting my submit button on my page to work on mobile. I am going through mailchimp and started with support from them. We could not resolve it. Does the VC Widgetised Sidebar not work in Salient 8? I don’t see it in VC and the original shortcode doesn’t work… that was a pretty cool feature. I was using it to add filter widgets for WooCommerce category pages (just added the shortcode in to the category description so it appears at the top of the page).

I keep getting an error message when making any changes via the Salient tab within WordPress admin. “There was a problem with your action. Please try again or reload the page.”
I did upgrade from the original Salient theme to 8.0. Because of the error message, I’m unable to make theme changes from the Salient tab.
Also, when I try going to Appearance > Themes > Salient > Customize, I get this is error: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 77824 bytes) in /home/content/17/10327817/html/wp-admin/includes/media.php on line 2428
I also have 2 different portfolio tabs now in the admin menu. Is that because of the update?

1. The PHP running out of memory issue is likely what’s causing your issue of not being able to save changes as well – you’re just barely running out of memory, you could ask you hosting company to set the max amount allocated to PHP to be just a little more to fix the issue
2. There should only be one portfolio tab in the admin panel, if you’ve verified that no third party plugins are adding the second one please open a ticket in regards https://themenectar.ticksy.com

You can disable the theme lightbox script in the Salient options panel > general settings > functionality tab – have you tried to do so yet?

This did not solve the probelm. It seems that the theme code is interfering with the Ess. Grid plugin’s code so it cannot generate the light box correctly.

Hey there… I really like the crisp look of the non-sticky version of mobile. However, I also like the slide-in feature of the sticky version but NOT the look of the fonts.
Is it possible to have the default, non-sticky look BUT in the sticky menu format? Hope I’m not too confusing.

1. I want to activate the full screen row style, and I love the scroll to each section but is there an opportunity to have fluid/continuous scroll like usual websites?
2. I see the logo changes color when it’s on a dark or light background? Is this a standard option in the theme functionality?

Hey Nat!
1. You can use the regular fullscree rows in VC for this – however there would be no side dot navigation in that scenario, you’d have to make menu links to the sections
2. In the fullscreen row setup, you define which logo (light or dark) will show on each row

Feature request: Email icon in header navigation
Under the ‘Enable Social Icons’ section in the header, it would be very useful to have an ‘email icon’, that way it be have a ‘mailto:’ item.
Additionally, it would be nice to have maybe a generic ‘square’ or ‘circle’ icon that can be used for random stuff (like a website link).

There’s seems to be some issues since the last update. I’ve noticed that my cart icon and search icon are missing on some pages (in the header) and there are some font inconsistencies.
I wish I could upload some screen shots to show you …
But if you compare these two pages – you’ll notice the differences that I’m referring too.

FYI – They are the exact same pages but with just different content.
I also just noticed that there used to be proper spacing between each thumbnail on the product pages … but now there is not.

Some of your pages are loading https and some are not, on the ones that aren’t the browser is blocking the request to the icons since they’re trying to load over a different protocol – the error shown in the console is:Access to Font at 'https://www.kennethcollection.com/wp-content/themes/salient/css/fonts/OpenSans-Semibold-webfont.woff' from origin 'http://www.kennethcollection.com' has been blocked by CORS policy: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'http://www.kennethcollection.com' is therefore not allowed access.You can fix this with an htaccess mod
2. It appears you’ve updated to WooCommerce 3.0, that major release just came out yesterday and causes issues with Salient. Salient is currently only compatible with WooCommerce up to 2.6x, the update for compatibility is coming out tomorrow

Oh I see … you know how to click on the magnifying glass in order for the lighbox pop up window to appear. Hmmm … that must be a new feature.

Yes but it still doesn’t properly show vertical images. Surely there is a way to properly format both vertical and horizontal images instead of having to just pick one format. It used to work perfectly, I don’t know why there was a need to change anything.
Have you tried to change to or test with one of the default WordPress themes or WooCommerce storefront? When using the default lightbox functionality option Salient should not be changing how the WooCommerce plugin is setting the styles

1. There’s many different carousels on that page – which were you looking to set up? You can also add carousels from the Salient studio onto any page
2. Combining both of these would require custom modding to the theme files at this time
