Hi – pre-sale question.
Our client sells very niche vehicles and wants a search form that has just the max & min price, plus one custom drop-down option (red or green). Can this be done using your theme.
Also, a LOT of the fields in the back-end listing section aren’t relevant to our client – is it easy to remove and/or edit them?

Hi Keith – Yes you can decide what fields to show in the Search Our Inventory section, and the Listing Categories are also completely customizable to suit your customers needs. We just have the Listing Categories setup as an example, but you can easily add/remove/change as necessary. Thanks for your interest!

I have a suggestion and was wondering if this would be a feature you would consider for a future update. First off, this theme is AMAZING. Have been super happy with it. Is there anyway to add a toggle to the Add Listing page that would allow you to turn the finance calculator on or off for that specific vehicle? We offer financing for some vehicles, but not for others. Looking forward to your thoughts!!
You can enable/disable it under Listing Options > Single Listing Page > Financing Calculator, however we can definitely add it to our Feature Request list where it could be enabled/disabled on a per-listing basis. Thanks for the suggestion

I’m considering using this theme for a client of mine that owns a trailer dealership because of the inventory management. These aren’t RV’s or travel trailers, just pull behind work trailers. I’m wondering how customizale the inventory management is and if you think it would work for this type of application. Thank you!

My theme and plugins are updated, but I can no longer see or access the Listing Categories. It worked fine before updating the Automotive Listings plugin.
Please try going to Listings > Listing Categories and click the button at the bottom labeled Regenerate Terms and let us know if that resolves your issue
Hello,i hope you are doing well. I am having a really weird problem with my site.I dont know exactly when it happened(if it was before or after updating the theme and listings plugin) but every time you go to a listings page in my site,the arrows leading to the previous and next page show up as emtpy squares.Even the loading circle that would show as you change category listings shows up as a rotating square.I tried to find something that may fix it,but to no use.Can you please help me? They work for me, and the loading circle also loads the rotating circle. Try fully clearing your browsers history and cache as likely it’s just a caching issue.
Clearing the browser history and cache didnt do the trick for me,but installing an extension called “Allow-Control-Allow-Origin” solved it. Thank you for the fast reply

Hi, something strange is happening to my site. If I make any changes at all to the ‘INVENTORY PAGE’, then all my Listings are disappearing from that page. I have tested this by cloning my ‘WIDE FULLWIDTH’ inventory page. As long I don’t go to EDIT or QUICK EDIT, even the clones show all my listing, the minute I go into to edit the page, even if I don’t make any changes, then publish, then the listings disappear. Without realizing what was going on, I have lost my listing on a number different inventory formats (eg: Wide Sidebar Left), Now I am down to the only wide bar that I am half happy with. Has anyone had this problem? Is it a bug? Thanks.

I could not create a ticket as my support has run out.
I was able to update the Listing plugin – I am now able to make changes to the cloned listing pages and still not lose the listing. I have not tried to change it on the actual listing page I am using – which is WIDE FULLWIDTH, I will do so when I am confident that the problem is fully resolved.
However, I do not have WIDE SIDEBAR LEFT, and WIDE SIDEBAR RIGHT listing pages, I might have deleted them when I was having problems before.
How can I get them back?
I could not update the AUTOMOTIVE THEME. It says “UPDATE FAILED: DOWNLOAD FAILED. FORBIDDEN”
Even if could, will that automatically update the AUTOMOTIVE CHILD THEME?

The child theme won’t change in a theme update, only the theme. You likely don’t have an API Key setup in your ThemeForest account to do automatic updates. You need to go under Settings in your ThemeForest account and create an API Key, then place this information under Theme Options > Update Settings.
As far as getting the missing pages you deleted back, you can check the Trash as they may still be there. Outside of that you would to need to either reimport the demo content, or manually setup a new page using the Inventory shortcode.
I’m not sure about the other issue you are having, you would need to renew your support and open a support ticket with your website details for us to have a look at this for you.
Thanks for that. I have recovered the desired types of listings from Trash, thanks for the tip. However, the BADGES on the listings are missing.
Also, I had earlier done the API key thing, and I was just now able to update the AUTOMOTIVE theme succesfully. Do I have to manually do anything with the AUTOMOTIVE CHILD THEME?
Another strange thing has happned, I am not sure if it did before I did the udates or after. I can’t see content of 2 of my pages (Team & Mission, and Contact) in live and preview modes. But I can see them in Edit mode. (they were working fine just 2 days ago).

Hi, things are not going well at all, luckily I had a half decent version backed up. I have tried many restores, but after I make a few changes, other things stop working. I have spent so many hours trying to figure it out, I have IT background, there clearly are bugs in this thing. I shouldn’t have to pay to get support to fix the bugs.
There are sorting and searching issues, and I have learned to work around the issues with the Listings, although not to my complete satisfaction.
But to start with, I am just trying to get the lay out to my liking. The minute I move my Menus around, 2 of my pages stop showing content on live mode, I can see them in Edit mode.

I just searched out support system and I can’t find any other instances of anyone experiencing this same behaviour. Here’s a few things you should try:
1.) Update your theme, plugins, and WordPress to the latest versions.
2.) Make sure you fully clear your browsers cache after you backup/restore anything.
3.) Disable all of the 3rd party plugins you have enabled (except for the plugins included with the theme – Automotive Listings, Visual Composer, Slider Revolution)
4.) If you have any customizations to the core files try disabling these during testing
5.) Check your browsers Console log for any errors or conflicts
6.) Check your servers error_log (usually located in the public_html folder) and see if there are any errors occurring
7.) If you are still having a problem after trying these things you will need to open a support ticket with temporary WordPress and FTP login details if you need further assistance.

The Revolution slider is asking for a Purchase code to set up auto update – i can’t find a way to manually update it.
The Visual Composer is asking for a Visual Composer License Key to set up auto update, I can’t find a way to manually update this either. Should I have thse two code / keys as part of my orginal purchase? Please help. Thanks.
By the way I am beginning to think that my problem is with the visual composer, as both Contact, and About Us pages are made with visual composer I believe.
Both these pages are stopping displaying on preview / live straight after I update the Automotive Listings Plugin. I have observed this a number of times now.

4. Deactivate and delete the the existing Revolution Slider <—if i did this, will i lose all my slides and configuration? will I have to re-create my slides from scratch?

- You can just make a listing category for ‘type’ have ‘bikes’ ‘cars’ etc.
- You can easily make a form for someone to submit with the type of vehicle they are looking for.
- The ‘saved search’ is not currently an option so you would need to do some customization for this one
ok so dont need multistie just type with subtype like vehicle then cars bikes trucks ….?
No I don’t think so. If you wanted the inventory completely separate you could do 3 different WordPress installs in the sub folders like /bikes/ /cars/ etc but its not a requirement
My site preferredimports.com runs extremely slowly. Everything takes 10-12 seconds, I’ve upgraded the server and purchased the theme but I’m maybe its a CSS issue because its a pretty large file. Do you provide any services for slow functionality fixes?
It looks like your issues may be tied to your customization/addons. If you review the console logs you will see the errors tied to these things you have added on, and in the footer you can see a PHP error relating to a live chat script. Then after you fix those things, I would recommend fixing at the 175 code validation errors (that are not coming from our theme our plugin): https://validator.w3.org/nu/?doc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.preferredimports.com%2F . If you are still having a problem after fixing these 3 things likely it is relating to your web hosting. Hi. I currently manage an RV dealerships inventory on their website. This website is built in Joomla and uses the EZ Autos extension. We would like to switch to WordPress and use your plugin. How would we go about the migration and does your system have an XML feed for the inventory that RV Trader can link to, to grab our inventory?
Thanks for your interest! We have a lot of customers using it for RVs and it works quite well (if you want some examples let us know). As far as the ‘migration’ goes, probably it would be easiest just to build the website on WordPress and manually move your content over. There isn’t really a Joomla-to-WordPress migration path that I know of, but the WordPress page builder we use is very easy to use. We do have an Automatic Exporter plugin that can be used to export your inventory to CSV or XML, but it is sold separately from the theme/listing plugin. Hey, can the finance calculator to be modified following way: displaying the frequency of payments by annual and monthly? Does the code allow hiding Bi-weekly and weekly options and adding annual payment option?
You would need to do some customization to make this work, there is no way to do this in the option panel. We could give you a quote on customizing it if you aren’t sure how do PHP and javascript, if you are interested just send an email to sales@themesuite.com with the details.,
I have updated this theme to the most recent version as well as visual composer and now the simple code i used in the text fields of the flip cards and vehicle scroller is not working.
It is showing the actual code e.g the bold tags instead of making the actual text bold.
This only started after the last update i made. Is there a quick fix?

Haven’t run into this before, are you also using version 11.1 of the Listing plugin? If not I would suggest updating it as well and then clear your browsers history/cache. Hi, we are on version 6.6. Our listing carousels are not limiting results to the category selected. A theme update fixes this, but we are running a large site we would rather just fix the exact piece of code that is causing the issue. If we renew support, could you provide a spot fix? Many thanks.

You probably don’t need our Front End Submission plugin for this, you could likely just us a plugin like this: https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/pagerestrict/

Hi Nick – Every loan application is a little different, especially between different countries etc. The good news is though that you can easily build one in Contact Form 7 using the drag and drop form builder.

I try many time install theme content, but can not install. Even I try manual import, stop step 3. How to install theme content? What is my mistake?

If you are also having problems installing the demo content manually step-by-step then you have a bigger issue with your hosting and will need to review the error logs with your web host / server administrator to pinpoint the exact cause of the problem.

I am very impressed with the demo and I am looking to use this to sell travel trailers and later also have our automotive inventory added (or perhaps maintain 2 sites). Frazer is a huge plus to me! I am wondering about removing the MPG section on our travel trailer listings and also adding a credit application to the page. How can this be done? I’m sure others have already figured this out.
Thanks for the kind words! The MPG section is easily removable. We include all the demo forms, but you can easily build custom forms using Contact Form 7 for a custom credit application.
