You may have to contact your hosting provider to update your site to support the sslv3 for this.

I just downloaded the latest version of this theme and noticed that the version of layer slider it comes with is 5.6.2. It appears there’s a vulnerability in layerslider versions older than 6.2.0 and that the newest version is 6.2.1. Are there any plans to update this theme in the near future to include the latest version of layerslider?

I am trying to edit this theme that we did for a client many years ago but the page builder is just showing a blank white page. The theme has not been updated since we installed years ago (client won’t pay for upgrades). The thing is I did loads of changes to css file and some other files and if I update the theme all the style is wrong. We did not keep a track of changes but we do now and also use child themes. Anyway…I temporarily updated the theme to see if page builder would load and still not there when I update theme files.

Also when I try to look at media files that page is blank also….in order to delete any blank files. I’ve looked at image uploads via FTP but can’t see any blank or corrupt image files.

Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

Could you try checking to see if there’re any extraordinary large images in the media library ? May be some images is too large ( over 2 mb, or 2000px wide ) for the resize process and brakes some part of the theme.

Hi there, i am trying to use the shortcode [gdl_gallery title=”gallery-sep” width=”205” height=”210” galid=”1” type=”1”] to display one thumbnail of a gallery and when clicking on the thumbnail, all the images in that gallery are displayed in the lightbox – its not working though, what does type do? If i remove type=”1” then all the images are displayed and not just the one – adding in type=1 and nothing is displayed. Am i doing something wrong?

Is there another/better way to have one Gallery page with a thumbnail and caption displayed for each gallery – clicking on the thumbnail should then display the photos for that Gallery….a bit like a parent gallery page?

The “type=1” does not has the caption option. BTW, since there’re only 1 images, you can use plain text as an image caption instead.

Hi there, i want to upgrade my modernize 3.16 to 3.21 (latest version i presume?). I have created a child theme (modernize-v-3-16-child) and customised the theme a lot so don’t want to lose all this. I have read your instructions online for upgrading a theme, but if i do delete the existing modernize-3-16 theme and upload modernize-3-21, the child theme will still be based on the old version won’t it? What is the best way of upgrading a theme that i have customised with a child theme, but without losing the customisations? Thank you

- There’s no need to rename the child theme, the ‘template’ keyword is how the child theme knows the parent theme location.

- Options from the Theme Options Panel are stored in the database, which is why you need to save these settings once after you add the new parent theme.

Thanks for that – that all worked very smoothly. I did have to re-activate the layer slider though and in doing so had to then re-assign all the sliders that were previously defined in sidebars. Is there any way of avoiding this in the future?

Do you mean the slider widgets were lost during the update? You can avoid that by backing up the widgets before the update: https://wordpress.org/plugins/widget-importer-exporter/

I purchased this theme a few months ago and just got around to installing it to build a client site and noticed that when I’m updating the theme colors such as links, hovers and top navigation bars I am able to select the color however the theme then appears to break a little. After looking through the CSS in Chrome I can see that there are no ’#’ symbols in the style-custom.css file for the colors. I went through the editor and added them in and the theme worked correctly until another color was edited then the entire css was reverted back. Seems like a weird issue and didn’t see anyone else on the comments talking about it so I thought I’d mention this and see if this is a known issue?

Can you please try deactivate all other plugins (except Goodlayers pluigns) first and see if it’s fixed or not.

The modernize purchase code isn’t accepted by the layer slider. How can I fix this? Thanks!

Hmmm I thought I could spare the 20 usd for a seperate license, so I bought it. Now I found that the theme doesn’t recognise Layer Slider 6.05 and sends me to the required plugin installer..

Edit: updating to 6.05 from the version that came with the theme doesn’t work. Removing the pre-installed layer slider and uploading the seperately purchased layer slider plugin does work.

The purchase code for slider is not necessary. It’s used for auto updater. However, the slider that’s included in this theme is being used as ‘Extended license’, it’s considered as a bonus file which doesn’t support auto updater. If you need to use auto updater, you have to purchase slider’s regular license separately. But as I said, It’s not necessary, you can still use slider that come with the theme like its’ regular license and we still keep pushing slider’s update in future theme’s version as well ;)

Hi! I have a problem with modernize font setting. In the setting shedule (font style—> font size) it’s all blocked! Only in this shedule. I would like to change content font from 14 to 15 pixel but it doesn’t work. I can’t move the bar and I can’t type number dimension font. What’s happen? How can I do? All other shedul works.

Are there any issues with upgrading WordPress from 4.5.2 to 4.7.1 with the Modernize theme. I am running Modernize 3.1.6 but have manually replaced the include/plugin/custom-widget folder with the new one that comes with v3.1.9 when upgrading from WordPress 3.9.2 to 4.5.2. Am trying to avoid updating the theme?
