After migration, options are migrated in database, but maybe were not loaded. In that case, it’s needed to “Save Changes” in Qode Options > General, and static files/js/css files will be saved and loaded from database.

Anyway, you can export/import options manually by using Qode Options > Import/Export Options feature.

You could define specific/custom menu for home page by using Custom Menu Widget in Appearance > Widgets.

Then, try to use either sidebar for home page (page back-end Qode Sidebar) https://www.screencast.com/t/SO0jLWFmpP and add custom menu widget (with desired menu) in Appearance > Widgets https://www.screencast.com/t/QPa94fcs , or add Custom Menu Widget in Header Top Right/Left widget area https://www.screencast.com/t/tkOfVxBii6wn .

So – Side menu is not an option – that is not the site design.

and using the top header section creates a very strange situation withe 2 “menu menu”

its quite basic to have this ability – for a landing page for example….

That is incorrect usage. When using filtering option, only one portfolio can be displayed on a page because filtering will occur on both portfolio lists, so use only one portfolio list with filter on a page, or if need to have to lists, then disable filtering.
