I know this is a repeated question, but I am using Buddypress with multisite so people can create their own subsites using the subdirectory method. Is The 7 theme ok with this? Will people be able to use The 7 theme on their subsite if I network enable it?

How can I install this theme in a dev environment and still use the demo and plugins? to get those I need to activate the theme, but the domain I’m using for developing is not the final domain. Help please, thanks.

You can install a testing site in a subfolder of your live site. This will allow you to have both instances of The7 active at the same time.
yes, but what about a subdomain like dev.mysite.com or even a local installation like mywebsite.dev? those won’t work, right?
We can whitelist your domain to allow simultaneous The7 instances registration.

so, I installed your theme on this domain https://www.theseven.kilinkis.me where I’ll do the development, and then move it to the final domain (I’ll probably keep using this installation as a dev copy of the website) So I’d need this domain whitelisted please and I can tell you the final domain too. We can white list a domain name so theme can be used on its subdomains. Not entirely different domain names. Should we whitelist the kilinkis.me? Please advise.

Like otmar100 has indicated, the new update adds the microwidget “cart” icons twice to the tablet mode header. It also won’t add the icon to the mobile version. Only the search icon seems to be showing up. If you tell the icon to be placed next to the logo, it doesn’t work.

A quick pre sale question as I’m between your theme and Jupiter or whatever it is on sale. Out of the box, how fast is your theme? I understand some speed settings, yet I’m just curious if your speed is fast or pretty slow like over 4 seconds by default? Also in terms of seo, is the code pretty clean? Thank you so much. Chris

All multipurpose themes perform equally out of the box. Identically set up with page caching and server-side .gzip The7 will perform even a bit faster then standard TwentySeventeen theme.
However when you start installing plugins situations changes dramatically. Claims of competitor(s) about being “fastest” cannot be adequately verified. Because on certain pages it will be indeed faster and on other slower then other themes.
A general rule of thumb is to consider all “theme is the most [term]” claims as a marketing BS. Even our “The7 – most customisable theme on the market” slogan can be disputed using other “measurement method” (we compared The7 to competitors by number of theme options).
Again, in terms of code standards, The7 is suited well for SEO.
My advice would be to compare different theme demos; find ones that you will most likely use and compare them in terms of performance with disabled caching in browser. This way you will get a rough approximation of what your visitors will see.

Hi, I am setting up a new website for a client.
I have downloaded the theme zip file.
Wordpress dashboard – upload theme – and selected the zip file.
Installation is successful but when i click to active the theme it give me following error message.

The issue is caused by usage older version of PHP on your server. In order to resolve it, simply replace the file in question by this one: https://gist.github.com/bigdigital/9bf0a752636d1c1a68932b5400cf9dc8
Alternatively you can upgrade your PHP version (which will yield significant site performance boost).

No longer works with WPMU. Impossible to update, since updates to theme specific plugins require a redirect to the network plugin installer, and there is no manual way to do it since plugins are no longer included with the theme. I have my own separate license for VC and all the sliders. But your core plugins are no longer accessible for network updates.

Theme demo – the7.io is a multisite WordPress instance. As you see, theme works pretty well there.
As for multisite in general, in most cases ThemeForest licenses does not allow such theme usage..
HI! I did figure it out….thank you very much We have technically one site but we use WPMU so that we can more easily manage permissions for each department in the organization. To that end though, we will be picking up some additional licenses for other sites that we intend to manage…because this theme is absolutely the best out there

I’m also glad to hear that you were able to resolve the issue.
However note that licensing is not a question of being “technically” one or multiple site(s). As far as I know when a buyer wants to use the theme for a multisite install – they will contact Envato support; describe their use-case and get a clarification whether they need 1 or multiple licenses.
Please don’t get me wrong – I’m not trying to frighten you or something. After all, we deliberately made The7 compatible with multisite instances knowing that in many cases it is in line with the license and perfectly legal. I’m just saying that you may want to get in touch with Envato to clarify your use-case.

The Parallax feature on my website looks very wonky all of the sudden. As you scroll down, the Parallax image should move at a slower speed than the foreground. What is now happening, the image moves up as you scroll, and then when you stop scrolling, it “slides” back down to its original position. Please see the website www.humphreyac.com

Not exactly. There is an option to “Collapse to one column after (px)” in Footer & Bottom Bar Options.
