Is it possible to just type my web name/logo? Or should I upload a photo?
Hi dlndolgion,
You will need to upload a graphic as your logo.
Cool theme
Thanks, AdelleSpring!
Awesome theme. Please consider adding author’s avatars on frontpage
GLWS
Hi wbrenner,
Thanks! And I initially included the authors with avatars on the homepage, but removed them because it looked a little too cluttered design-wise.
RTL supported?
Hi themeroute,
That is not a feature of the theme, but it is something I plan to look into for a future update.
Please add it.
Hi themeroute,
Thanks for the suggestion. I will look into it for possibly the first update.
Congratulations! Once again, good job!
I like ‘Continue reading’ function, but ‘Auto Load Post’ increases a lot the page views. That’s why I use Flex Mag theme. Pitchfork, Espn, Qz, TheNextWeb, The Intercept… All of this have the autoload post.
But, is it possible to implement ‘Auto Load Post’ function? I know autoload changes the code, but I think it’s a good feature for news/mag theme.
Anyway, thank you for your work and good luck!
Featured Layout 4 is not clickable.
Hi iamaudience,
The auto load function requires quite a bit of resources and also has javascript conflicts, which is why I have not included it in any other theme since Flex Mag. I think that the “Teaser” posts feature is a nice compromise given that it serves the same purpose without all of the negatives. Plus, it will help increase unique page views whereas the auto load posts feature did not actually count as a new page view.
Infinite Scroll has releases v3. I don’t know, but I think Flex Mag uses v2. Maybe this new version is better and it hasn’t js conflicts: https://infinite-scroll.com
I really think this new (amazing!) theme with an auto load function would be much better (also in sales!).
Hi iamaudience,
The Auto Load Posts function is separate from the Infinite Scroll function and does not use Infinite Scroll. I will look into replacing the Infinite Scroll function with the latest version, but that has nothing to do with the Auto Load Posts.
Very Nice Theme, Good luck with the sales..
Thanks, userthemes01!
Another great looking theme, any chance there’s a boxed version layout for theme? Love your designs, but one thing I dislike is how much white there is in the backgrounds. Would love to have some borders, and options for different colors.
Hi GPunch,
Thanks! And yes, I have considered adding a boxed version, but you can essentially have one very easily right now by setting a very small image (even just a transparent 1×1 square) as the Wallpaper ad, and that will have the same effect. The small image will never be seen since it will be behind the content.
Ok sounds good, you said there’s more featured post layouts on the way. Would love to see something similar to what Gamespot has on their homepage added to Zox in the future. Still deciding which one of your themes I should get, I like your League and Zox themes. Would be awesome to be able to combine them into one theme.
Hi GPunch,
The next Featured Posts layout I plan on adding will actually look somewhat similar to that, but with a third image. It will essentially be three large images side by side spanning the width of the screen. But there is also another layout that is already in the theme that is also similar: http://www.mvpthemes.com/zoxnews/featured-3/
Awesome, yeah I noticed that one and really like the layout of it. How customizable is the homepage? Can I choose multiple blocks to display with the feature post layout? Suppose I go with the 3rd featured layout, can I have the more news tab underneath it, and then have videos underneath that tab? I would also love to be able to have the trending tab on the right sidebar.
I would be able to combine featured post layout 3 with 2, here is what I mean.
Hi GPunch,
Thee 4 posts underneath is not a feature of the Featured Posts 3 layout, but you could add a widget underneath that displays 4 posts from a specific tag or category, and the posts in the Featured Posts area will not be duplicated in the widget.
Will it appear like it does in the Featured Post 2 layout? And does the theme include the widget? Can I also change to a different header than the one in the featured post 3 layout? I’d rather have it be dark. Also if I decide to buy the theme, can you give me a code to reduce the size of the images in the news block? Would like it a bit smaller than in the demo.
Also if I set a small image as the Wallpaper ad, will it appear boxed like it does with your League theme? I’d like to see a border around the post layouts, and the homepage. That way it isn’t all white around. Thanks!
Hi GPunch,
It won’t look exactly like it does in your image, but on the homepage of the demo, everything you see from the “Entertainment” section to “Tech” section are widgets that come with the theme. You can add as many or as few widgets as you’d like.
Yes, you can use either header layout and you have complete control over the colors of the background and text color of the nav.
Reducing the size of the images is something you would need to do on your own.
Setting a Wallpaper Ad image will make your site look the way it does here: http://www.mvpthemes.com/zoxnews/wallpaper-ad/
Except there will be no background image, but you will be able to set the background color to your site.
Ok sounds great, I’m fine changing the image size on my own. But can you give me the CSS code to be able to do that? Once I purchase the theme of course. You’ve previously provided me with a CSS code with your Click Mag theme when I wanted to change something. As for the Wallpaper ad, will it make the posts appear as they do with your League theme? Meaning it’s bordered.
I feel pretty confident buying your theme, think I’ll get it later tonight. Thanks for answering all of my questions. Good luck on future sales!
Hi GPunch,
Unfortunately, changing the size of the images isn’t a simple fix, so you would need to come up with and change the code on your own. As for the boxed version/wallpaper ad, it will appear the same as the homepage. I’m not sure what border you are referring to, but the background of the site will show on the sides just like the homepage with the content area having a white background, the same as both themes.
Great work. GLWS!
Presales queries:
[1] Is it possible to add Google Adsense Ads below the post?
[2] Can I add native ads (Taboola or Outbrain) below the post?
[3] Is it possible to display all sharing buttons in the mobile by default? Or may be implement the ClickMag style sharing buttons?
[4] Can I use FB comments using a plugin? If yes, will native and FB comments co exist? Or can I just use the FB comment instead of Native and if yes, will the comment system behave as it is shown (click on Click to comment’ and then the FB coment box will be revealed)?
[5] Can you share the demo saple post which has pagination?
[6] Can I add the Newsletter sign up form (using Mailpoet plugin) below the post and in the side bar?
Regards
Hi buy_23,
Thanks for the interest!
1) Yes, you can add any HTML or Javascript code in that section. In the demo, you will see an ad there now.
2) Yes, same as #1
3) I’m not sure what you mean by this. The sharing buttons on mobile should be visible at the bottom of the site while scrolling. Are you saying you cannot see them in the demo?
4) Yes, you can use Facebook Comments plugin, and hiding the default comment system will depend on what plugin you are using, but I believe most of them replace the default with the FB comments.
5) The Theia Post Slider replaces the native pagination on posts, and can be seen here: http://www.mvpthemes.com/zoxnews/the-9-worst-mistakes-you-can-ever-make-at-work/
6) This is not a feature of the theme, but it is something I may add in a future update.
Congratulations. Excellent theme. Good luck with the sales
Thanks, CizThemes!
Difference between this and Click Mag ?
Hi DanielGomez41,
There are major design differences, including the addition of a widgetized area on the homepage with 4 different widgets you can use in that section. There is also a “Teaser Posts” feature in this theme that is not in Click Mag, as well as the parallax Leaderboard Ad feature. There are a few other functional differences including additions to the Theme Options, but mostly differences in design.
Any plans on having social site profile shares to be displayed in posts and home page ?
Hi DanielGomez41,
Are you asking if the social sharing buttons will be available on the homepage like in Click Mag? If so, there are no plans to include that in this theme.
Amazing Work, Good Luck With Sale
But I’m not sure why on earth you guys keep on neglecting google AMP and Facebook Instant Articles.
These 2 features are driving insane traffics to websites and your theme doesn’t support that, I asked you the similar question on your previous theme and you said “we will think about that”, sounds like you don’t care about what’s going on in present tech world and how it’s effecting the publishers.
Thanks
Hi Trendsin,
This has not been included in any of my themes for a few reasons, one being that if this is something you want to add, there are plugins that can do that for you. The second is that there are plenty negatives to both features and not even every major news site utilizes both features, likely for the same reason. It is also not a given that there is any direct benefit to either feature as long as your site already loads quickly on mobile devices, which each of my themes do. Here is a list of some reasons why I have not made the jump to making sure thsee features are included in any of my themes: https://www.advancedwebranking.com/blog/consider-adopting-google-amp-for-your-website/
With that said, it is still something I will cosine as new Information comes out, but right now, there is no compelling reason to do so other than it being a popular thing to do. But functionally, it may actually do more harm than good to your site, especially if you are trying to monetize your posts.
Hello,
Plugins integration for AMP doesn’t work out of the box and it doesn’t look good if it’s not a part of the theme.
I’m not sure what’s your source of info, but AMP websites are getting as much as 30% more traffic from google, I can tell you from my exp and big publishers don’t need AMP because they are authority in their business so you’re not getting the difference between two.
Thanks
Hi Trendsin,
I understand the potential increase in traffic, but there are still also potential negatives to the service as well, as I have outlined. As I mentioned, this is absolutely something I plan to keep an eye on and possibly include in a future update, but as of right now, there are no clear cut advantages to including the service as long as your mobile delivery is fast and efficient, as this theme is.
Congratulations, excellent theme. Good luck for more sales
Thanks, janxcode_team!
Congratulations! Nice Work, Good Luck With Sale
Thanks, ThemeCuriosity!
Can I have a demo account credentials? As I am thinking to make a multi-anther platform with the theme.
Hi Denimbs,
Unfortunately, there is no backend demo access with this theme, but there is a screenshot of the Theme Options when you click on the Screenshot button on the main theme page.
Awesome guys!! Truly professional!! Bravo. What about speed and seo?
Thanks for creating
Hi xrisxal2000,
Thanks so much! This theme is SEO Optimized and includes Rich Snippets. It scores an 85 on Google PageSpeed Insights, and I am always looking for ways to improve on that score and make the site faster and more efficient. Thanks again!
Dear MVP Themes, can i have a news slider on top of the page below the banner area? like this… http://tinyurl.com/zlaqlev There is a way to do that?
Thanks!
Hi xrisxal2000,
This theme does not come with a slider, and for good reason. Mainly that visitors very rarely scroll through sliders, so your featured content ends up never being seen unless it’s on the first slide. This is why the Featured Posts area on this theme is laid out the way it is so visitors can see all of the Featured content. Here is more information about it: https://yoast.com/opinion-on-sliders/
AWESOME!!! Thanks guys!!
You’re very welcome!
