I feel sorry for this inconvenient but please notice that you are using such a too old theme’s version and it’s deprecated, sorry! Plese, notice that if you want to bring best theme results, you should use the latest theme version which is Newspaper 8.1.

Please keep in mind that what you should do is a BIG update and the theme will be broken because it is totally another theme, sorry!

In order to achieve the best results after you will install the latest update you have to follow some rigorous steps like this -> you have to delete both of your themes, child theme, and main theme. All your customizations from your Newspaper 4 theme will do not work because all the files from this were changed in Newspaper 8.1 and as the main theme and also you lose all changes.

The Newspaper 8.1 is a whole new theme so an update from 4 to 8.1 may cause the same issues as switching to another theme (but we did try to maintain compatibility where ever possible).

Always make a full backup of your current installation – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups and then do a clean update, meaning that we recommend that you delete the old version of the theme before uploading the new one – http://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ update also the plugins that come bundled with the theme files from the /plugins folder. In the “how to update” guide is specified that you will have to run the script that will import from database your settings.

The shortcodes have been changed so old ones will not work anymore. Please note that old files customization or custom CSS will not work with the new version and you will have to adjust or re-add them. Bottom line is that newspaper 8.1 is a whole new theme built from scratch.

Unfortunately, you will have to clear your agenda and spare a bit of time to adjust all your settings to the new version of the theme.

In order to remove more from author you can use 2 methods: The css method:

.td_block_related_posts .td-related-right { display:none; }

You can add the code in the theme Panel -> custom CSS box.

Did I state the question wrong? I mean the photos I add in to posts. Size of those. Not thumbs or is it the same thing?

The theme uses thumbnails for every spot an image shows up in. On posts, on pages, on categories, they are all thumbnails. The full image is rarely used, in special post templates that require large images mostly such as https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-2015-awards-all-of-the-best-and-worst-moments-from-the-show/ The image itself cannot be controlled by the theme. The theme cannot change sizes for the image, just the theme thumbs. If you want to change the image size, you will have to do it manually. As for the gif’s. please use this guide: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-add-animated-gifs-in-wordpress/ Make sure your gif’s are always inserted in full size and not thumbnails when importing them through the media library .

Something not quite right with the editing of widget sidebars in TD composer? Deleting the sidebar and adding another seems to of sorted it but the process needs looking at.

Please use google’s structured data testing tool as it’s a much more reliable test. We have stopped testing with the w3 validator a long time ago as you can test any at all site and it still provides errors. Try to test the biggest websites you can remember and you will see each and every one has errors in this test.

Is it possible to keep the same post template while adding the caption? Also, another unrelated question. How do you set the social counter to look like that? On my theme, when I add the social counter widget to my sidebar, it shows the old social counter.

Two other questions:

1) What is the widget you used for the social counter on that demo page? My social counter still looks like the old one from Newspaper 7.

2) After I switched to the gadget theme, I noticed that all the colours and format changed on my desktop, but not on the mobile theme. How can I switch the mobile theme over too?

1) Sorry but there is no simple way of getting the caption to show up properly on the templates that do not have captions. They were removed for a reason. 2) The colors will switch on the mobile theme as well, you might have had caching enabled and did not get cleared when you tested. Try it again now.

Please understand the theme was never advertised as compatible with Facebook instant articles. You cannot judge a theme by it’s inability to do something it does not have implementation for. Yes this is a very requested feature and we will look into it for future updates. If the theme would have been advertised falsely as compatible but then turn out not to be. That is a case in which it deserves 0 stars and I would have agreed if that were the case. Please reconsider your judgement. We trust you are a reasonable person.

Pai si eu daca dezactivez toate astea, cu optimizarea cum ramane? As prefera sa folosesc w3 total cache pentru ca e singurul care ma ajuta ca site-ul sa fie rapid.

Am rezolvat cu varianta desktop, acum pe telefon incarca doar varianta de desktop. Imposibil sa nu fie o rezolvare pe acest plugin.

Ideea de a dezactiva toate optimizarile era sa testezi sa afli de unde vine problema si sa inlaturi exact cauza problemei, nu toate optimizarile. DIn pacate w3 total cache nu este testat cu tema noastra si nu putem oferi solutii pentru plugin-uri netestate. Noi putem recomanda doar wp super cache dar fiecare alege plugin-ul pe care il prefera doar ca unele nu sunt compatibilie si pot crea neplaceri.
