Hi – I would like to get the MB.YTPLAYER PLUS working on my site but something in the theme obscures it. What would I need to do to make it work? plugin: https://pupunzi.com/wpPlus/go-plus.php?plugin_prefix=YTPL site: starfleetcomms.com

You can use media queries to limit the transparent-ness to certain screen sizes only. Not sure at what pixels the cut off point is, but you could wrap the custom CSS in something like the following:

@media only screen and (min-width: 768px) { ...your css here … }

Change the min-width to the cut off point for the background video. That way, it should default to the standard settings in narrow mobile versions.

Oh My God. That is beyond cool. I’ve just implemented it and it works great. Thank you!

Happy to hear it worked :)

Hi, I have updated my hosting to a new Hostgator hosting. Since they transferred my site from one hosting to my new one, none of the changes in the theme options has worked. I have a logo to show for example on the front page, the links should be red not the blue colour and so on. I have tried to upload my previous settings and this did not work. Any idea how I can get my settings to work?

Sorry to hear that is happening. One question, did you export/back-up your theme options by going to Theme Options > Import/Export and saving the .json file from there? Unfortunately, WordPress’s regular backup system does not include theme options. Those have to be backed-up separately.

If you did that and still can’t get them to import by using the theme option import, please get in touch through support@themestation.net. Send me a copy of your theme options back-up file and create a dummy account for me. I’d me happy to take a closer look.

Is the slideshow advance functionality automatic? I can manually advance the feature episodes just fine, but the slideshow won’t slide on its own.

Hello, unfortunately there is no way of changing this through the theme options at the moment. If you are comfortable working with code, I can give you pointers on how to customize this however. Also, this sounds like a great idea to be included in a future update. Will definitely add it to the list.

Hi, I’m trying to get rid of the “Related Posts” sections, but can’t seem to get rid of everything. I can get rid of the title, categories, date, etc., but not the links themselves. How do I just removed the whole Related section?

Replied to your email, but I’ll answer your question here as well :)

The related Posts section (on the single pages I assume) seems to be coming from a third-party plugin. Please check which plugins are currently active and deactivate the one that adds related posts to single post pages.

Any advice on the fact that the ”@import” function while setting a child theme is no longer best practice?

Hey there, this looks like something that will be taken care of in an upcoming update. Are you looking to use the child theme right now and need help setting it up?

Yes, I am. Or at least I should do it as briefly as possible and don’t know anything about child theme (just reading docs to perform this). Can you help?

I can give you the instructions on how to switch to the new way if you like:

1. in the child theme’s style.css, please comment out the @import line.

2. paste the following: https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/advanced-topics/child-themes/#3-enqueue-stylesheet (in the last code textarea) into your child theme functions.php. If the child theme doesn’t have a functions file yet, simply create one and name it functions.php.

3. Save and you should be ready to go. I’ll do an overhaul of the child theme in the next update, but for now this is a way to go about it. Let me know if you run into anything :)

Hi, my site is nextlevelguy.com and last night I back up my site using the tools > export after making some big changes to the colours of the text, the look, layout etc. I always save the website after some changes and weekly in case anything goes wrong. I considered trying to change one of the preset layouts and tried a new one. I didn’t like it so I changed it back by uploading my save XML wordpress file. When it uploaded, it is showing a bizaree mix of changes to some of the widget codes but no changes I made to the layout, colour of text etc, also, it is not showing all my posts but only some from one particular category. I have lost a lot of work on the site. Can you please check my site and let me know what I need to do to go back to the way I had it? I literally saved it right before I changed the preset and it has gone crazy in about a few minutes so hopefully easy to fix! Thanks,

Sorry to hear about that. From what you explained, it seems like there was a mixup with the back-up. The back up you made was for your content only, it does not include theme options. The theme options back-up is created by going to Theme Options > Import/Export. It only backs up your theme options settings.

Not sure if I’ll be able to help, but I’ll try my best. Please create an account for me using the email support@themestation.net and I would be happy to take a look :)

hi! I wonder how to change the Itunes Link and RSS Link on the header, i put links on the theme option but it doesnt work. it only shows/redirect to the homepage, please help.

Hey there, sorry to hear about that. Could you send me a URL so I can take a closer look at what you are looking at on your end. You can send it to support@themestation.net and I’d be happy to take a look. :)

Hi, I have resolved it already. My question now is how to change the header into reaponsive fullscreen. I want my listeners to be greeted with a simpler full screen latest episode. And another, how to put skip/back icon in the player as well as download button.similar to smart podcast player. I really love the theme and it’s just the player that somehow bothers me.

Hey there, it looks like the shortcode plugin you’re trying to use isn’t supported as of now. I’m looking into this and will get back to you. Thanks for your patience.

Hi there,

just wanted to ask some questions before buying:

a) I see the three versions of Podcaster are similar but with some good differences, mainly in terms of colors and menu mobility: do I have to choose one preset or can I mix those features as I prefer?

b) Many people asked about the homepage player when audio files are stored outside the server where WordPress is installed. Your usual reply is to check direct access to the raw file. I use Archive.org, which allows any user – not only me – to access the .ogg/.mp3 file to be downloaded freely: is that all I need or am I missing something?

c) What’s the difference between podcast library and a simple blog category? (The category archive page in the live demo shows me a column with “recent posts”, which contains nothing but the podcast library)

d) How possible (and easy) is to translate some of the buttons/titles (i.e. “Recent Posts”, “Recent Comments”, the “Listen” button, etc.) and what would you recommend in order to do it properly (child-theme? Other options?)

e) Is there test version or a way to enter the back end and make some minor editing to the theme (just to see how it works)?

Thank you very much.

Hello, thanks for your interest in the theme! I’ll get right to your questions:

a) The features can be mixed and matched as you please, the demos are merely examples for what can be set up.

b) Yes, that is all you need, nothing more.

c) The difference is merely the layout, both pull up the episodes by category, so if you prefer that layout to the podcast library, you can use that one as well.

d) Podcaster comes translation-ready, but you have to do the translation yourself. You can create custom translation files using a software such as PoEdit.

e) Unfortunately no, there is no backend demo as of now, I’m afraid. But if you have any more specific questions about the theme options, I’d be happy to give an answer.

I hope this answers all your questions :)

Perfect, thanks very much indeed!

Here are some issues:

the subscribe buttons css on the main page with the next-week class. At md and lg breakpoints the buttons are floated all the way left instead of center.

There is an also an issue with i think md and lg breakpoints if you use an image for the logo. it doesn’t resize the image and it instead goes as large as possible and looks terrible.

I’m also getting an error in podcast posts saying: Fatal error: Call to undefined function SSP_Speakers() in /home/content/67/11239067/html/PODCASTNAME/wp-content/themes/podcaster/post/postfooter.php

Hello, thanks for the feedback this is being looked into.

Is there any way to have the dark theme on the home page and the classic on the podcast/blog page?

Hi there, unfortunately not through the theme settings alone. If you use custom CSS and your child theme, you could get it done.

Hello, I would like to ask: in this theme is it possible to add a PDF file to every podcast so that a user could download it?

Hi there, you should be able to upload a PDF file and link to it in your text, just like you would to any other link. Is this what you mean? :)

Hi, I’m seeing an issue with the homepage static text (below nav) on screens with max-width 480px. I tried fixing with custom CSS, but I can’t seem to figure it out. The static text is bleeding into the social bar above. Again, this only appears on mobile devices. You can test on your mobile device at https://keepingitrealpod.com. Can you send me the CSS fix to move the text down for that screen width only? Thanks!

Hey thanks for the feedback, this is being looked into!

How can I make my homepage image large as per your demo? The website is zwiftcast.com

Have you set a static front page and made featured podcast posts? You can find out how to do this by following the instructions within the “Getting Started” section of the documentation. (http://themestation.co/documentation/podcaster/#getting-started) Let me know if this helps for you.

Hi guys

We’re using your theme and RSS plugin on our new podcast.

Everything’s running smoothly, except I noticed today that the feed is only showing the six latest podcasts. I can’t see any settings to change this, but I’m not sure why it’s happening.

This is using Version 1.4.1 of the Theme Station Podcasting Feed plugin.

Please can you help us resolve this issue?

Many thanks

Alex

Ah, I’ve found the source of the problem.

The Theme Station Podcasting Feed plugin reads from the wordpress Reading Settings. If your feed is being limited too, look at the “Syndication feeds show the most recent” option under Settings > Reading Settings. Ours was set to six. Change this to your preferred limit.

Alternatively, the plugin reads that number using the get_option(‘posts_per_rss’) function. In the thst-feed.php file, change line 266 and 272 from ”’posts_per_page’ => $rss_posts” to ”’posts_per_page’ => -1”. This will remove the limit regardless of what your Reading Settings are.

Hey there, I see you managed to figure out the issue. I’ll take it the question is answered and I can disregard your email. :)

Sounds good to me! :)

Hello, and thanks for the awesome theme!

Quick question – I’m using “template preset N3”, is there a way to use an image with caption for the home page slider area instead of the latest episode? Similar to the “Classic” theme with image/text header.

Thanks again.

Hi there, happy to hear you’re enjoying Podcaster. As for the image with a caption header: you can do this by going to Theme Options > Front Page Header > Header Type and selecting “Text”. After that you can add text below and add an image by going to the “Backgrounds” sub-section. You can edit the padding there as well, to make the header bigger or smaller.

I hope this answers your question!

I’ve asked a similar question to this one previously but on my post pages to the right side of the page is this message (This is your single post widget area. Please go to Appearance > Widgets to add new widgets). How do I get rid of it? On pages I have an option for “full width page”, this isn’t an option on the podcast page.

It worked great, thank you for the help.

So sorry to bother you again and too be honest it my ignorance but I created an app for the website. how do I put download and instructions on the main page?

Hey there, don’t worry about it! You could use the rich text area in the footer to add the links and download instructions. If the instructions are longer, you could create a separate page and link back to it from there. I hope this makes sense!

Hello! I was hoping that there is a way to add a side bar or widgets to the home page. Is there a way to do that?

Other than that, I am LOVING the theme! After lots of searching for something that works for our shows, it’s great to have something that looks good and is easy to navigate.

AMAZING! IT TOTALLY WORKED!!! BEST THEME EVER!!!!! I have been looking for years and never got all the features/look I wanted. This update has made me so happy!

Oh! Any chance we can get a Twitch icon added to the social media listings or an add-custom?

Happy to hear it’s working for you! The Twitch icon request has been noted!

Podcast Archive. How can I make it show more than just that like I put some text inside the podcast page. Can I make that show???

Hi there, just to be sure, you don’t seem to have purchased Podcaster using this account. Please log into the account you used to make the purchase so I can attend to this support request properly. Thanks!

Hey!

Question: My logo seem to have some kind of transparency on my navigation bar. Can I remove that? Just want it to be bright white, not greyed out :)

It works! Fantastic, thank you. Can I also center my logo? It has my title in it, so I’d like to see how it looks in the center with a tagline under it :)

Another question: There seem to be some kind of transparency/opacity/frame thing going on around the subscribe-buttons. Can I remove that? :) Thanks!

Hi there, centering the logo would break the way the layout is set to be displayed, unfortunately. As for the subscribe buttons, this might help you:

.next-week .buttons a:link, .next-week .buttons a:visited { opacity: 1; } .next-week .buttons a:hover { opacity: 1; }

By the way, not sure if you are already using a developer tool such as Firebug, but it can help you figure out your CSS customizations. Just a little tip.

Hello, is the frontpage slider just for podcasts? I try to put standard posts and I can not. How can I solve it? Thank you!

Hey there, do you have a live URL where I could take a closer look at what is happening? Thanks!
