Hey there! Quick question—I updated Salient to the newest version through the Envato Wordpress tool and it broke my site. It used to look like this:

http://allanamato.com/portfolio/billy-bob-thornton/Did it switch to a different portfolio template (with categories on the side..?) or did it just overwrite my customization? I didn’t back it up, and was wondering if it was a simple template switch.

The attributes should still show if defined in the sidebar area – if those are a custom addition of categories instead of project attributes, those mods wouldn’t hold through an update unless you did them through a child theme. The mod would need to be reapplied.

Got it, thanks! The main thing I was trying to fix is that the main image on the Portfolio page was clickable to open the larger version—wasn’t that part of the default template? Thanks again!
You’re welcome! You can choose to have any portfolio display in “lightbox only” mode – if you’re using the portfolio page template, you can control this from the Salient options panel > portfolio tab and if you’re using the portfolio element in the page builder, the option will be directly inside of the configuration options for the element

Salient doesn’t modify your permalink structure to include anything like that – have you checked on the WooCommerce forums or asked your server is something is adding that to your htaccess file in regards?
Hi! I purchased The Salient theme 2014. Now, three years later the Visual composer stopped working. I have no idea why, since i havn’t made any big changes.
So i bought Visual composer again – but when trying to activate it, it says fatal error: “Fatal error: Cannot redeclare wpb_getImageBySize() (previously declared in /home/u/u1075744/www/wp-content/themes/salient/wpbakery/js_composer/composer/lib/helpers.php:15) in /home/u/u1075744/www/wp-content/plugins/js_composer/include/helpers/helpers.php on line 115”
I’ve read in some threads that you have your own visual composer, but i can’t find it in the theme folder?

1. You don’t need to purchase VC separately – you should contact Envato to get a refund in regards
2. instead, you need to update your version of Salient to the current release (8.1.0) and then update your Salient VC via the plugins section of your admin panel to the latest (5.2.1) in order to get the fix. http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/updating-salient/

Thank you for your help. Unfortunatly it didn’t work out fully. When trying to “Add item” in the Envato Market-plugin, i got this message “The item cannot be downloaded.”
I’m not 100% sure that i bought this theme with this account. Can that be the issue?

2. The nectar slider content (caption and buttons) by default fade and slide up when the slider loads and when changing slides – are you trying to remove the slide up animation and just have it fade?

It appears the issue is coming from the minifcation you have on – to fix it immediately, you could add this into the custom css box in your Salient options panel:

the general settings – styling – overall Font Color: This value doesn’t overwrite the color if fullwith is chosen in the row. So now i set the overal font color: #191919 and also included in CSS:

I can’t get a video to upload for a Slider. When I try to upload even a small 2.6MB file, I get this error in the Media section “IMG_4616.m4v exceeds the maximum upload size for this site.” Is there a way I can increase the max file size upload ? Thanks!

Hello, I am trying to configure your template in a website… but there is many problems. 1. I cant import any demo, when i click on the options, nothing happen. 2. The google map shows a message: Oops! Something went wrong. This page didn’t load Google Maps correctly. See the JavaScript console for technical details.

1. Have you opened a ticket in regards yet? We would need to check on your setup to assist.
2. In order to use Google maps you need to generate an API key and enter it into the Salient options panel > general settings > css/script related tab – please see the official documentation for more information https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key#get-an-api-key

Hi guys, I have a problem. I’ve installed The Events Calendar as you recommend in previous comments. I’m trying to design a homepage with recent posts as well as the events. I’ve already checked the “Include events in main blog loop” option in the plugin’s menu, but the events are not shown in the recent post section. Do you know how can I do it?

The recent posts element would require a mod to show a custom post type – however, the main blog element should show them. So you could use that and simply set the posts per page to a lower number

HI, first of all great theme.
I use this demo content to built my website (http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-agency/) but now i see that on chrome (and also opea) the website is not show… (only show it when i deactivated the hardware accelerated on adfvanced options). There is no way to show the website using the defaults options in chrome and opera???
Also the web index screenshot for google is a blank page because i use video… Could I fix this also???
