I’ve had this issue with other sites using Salient as well, but when I use the Innovative Gradient Hero template (or any other header/hero images), and select full width background, there’s a weird empty space on the top between the row and the nav when viewing the page on mobile. Also, the custom headings becomes lop sided instead of centered on mobile.

Hey cgroce93, this issue is caused by using the header resize effect in a combination with certain other settings – to fix it without changing your header effect, please download the latest version of Salient and use the “material” theme in the Salient options panel > general settings tab

I’ve just noticed that the chronological order for the Masonry Portfolio isn’t maintained, apart from the first and last options (Meta Below Thumb & 3D Parralax). Any chance that this can be remedied ? I rarely have issues with your wonderful theme so happy to renew support for this and do it via ticksy if need be.

Hey adk_kda! This is because the masonry layout uses a packery filling method https://packery.metafizzy.co/ – this ensures that the grid won’t have random empty spaces in it. To accomplish this, it grabs the nearest item that would fit into each slot. If you need everything to appear chronological without exception, you’ll have to disable the masonry effect at this time

With Masonry effect enabled, I’m using Layout in Full Width and Constrain Max Columns to 4? is ticked on.
First element (chronologically) in portfolio is set to wide and tall as I need the most current project to be prominent- hence the first tile is large.
With those in place, when I select a Project Style 3D Parralax on Hover / Meta below thumbs w/links on Hover the order with Masonry enabled is correct http://assemblymill.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Masonry_Order_Correct_adk.jpg

Why would the order be correct with the first two (especially 3D Parralax) but not the others ? NOTE: Would sizing all the Custom Thumbnail Images / Featured images to exactly the same size help with the packing ?

Thanks for the response. I have got another question. On desktrop, I would like to have full screen image for my homepage, but on tables and mobile devices, I want this image to be full-width. Is this possible with the theme?
Ran into a problem with the video lightbox module not playing a video. It kept downloading the video file I had uploaded to my site. The problem is that it won’t play mp4 videos. But I tried using a webm format and that seemed to work. Hopefully this info will help someone out.

1. The demo page you’ve linked is using the “Touch enabled and spaced (flickity)” style of the image gallery element, rather than using the VC carousel element. The spacing and styling you’re looking for can all be achieve by using that style in the image gallery element instead of your current setup

It looks like the way the left header’s mobile menu is made we can not customize to active the hamburger menu to our desired breakpoint. I searched in the code but could not find a solution for this.
It would be a great idea to have this because the left navigation takes space, plus you have the main content area and if you want to have a sidebar on your blog, then all your content looks very strange on smaller laptops that use screen sizes between 1024 to 1280 width

Salient doesn’t modify the permalink structure to include anything like that – have you checked on the WooCommerce forums or asked your server is something is adding that to your htaccess file in regards?

Hello, I am setting up a shop with a “left header” but I also need to use a secondary navigation showing as a top bar. I have set it up in the settings and in the menu settings but it doesn’t appear. I am trying to set up a portfolio grid and it seems impossible to change the style of the portfolio items. I first set it up to “Meta + 3D Parallax on hover”, but I wanted to change it to something else. Just saving doesn’t seem to be enough and even emptying the cache doesn’t work to actually make that change.
Could you let me know what is happening? I have tried to reset the section, logout and login…but nothing seems to work!

Please share your URL in regards so I can see your current portfolio setup to assist – there’s two different ways of adding a portfolio to a page: one being through the page template, which is controlled from the theme options panel, and the other being directly in the page builder – which is configured in the page builder.

It seems you’re setting negative margins on these items via the page builder / vs design options. Those negative margins would need to be removed on mobile only or you would need to remove them all together and accomplish the layout via a different manner as the hard coded negative px based margins are not a responsive solution

You would need to create two versions of the rows, one in each respective order. You can then us the VC responsive options tab when editing each column to hide/show them on the desired viewport

Hi, I’ve installed the demo Business, but unfortunately when I imported the demo a lot things are missing. The menus, widgets and ‘call back form’ didn’t connect and most of the photos are not there either. But I am more concerned about menus, widgets and ‘call back form’ to get as per the original demo.

The menus should have indeed been imported, the contact form shown in that demo is added through Contact Form 7, which needs to be installed separately but is covered in the docs http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/importing-contact-form-data/
The demo images are replaced with placeholders for that specific demos due to the original image copyrights, but newer demos use placeholders provided by unsplash. Could you kindly open a ticket in regards with admin credentials so I can check on why the menu didn’t get imported for you? https://themenectar.ticksy.com

Hey there! Quick question—I updated Salient to the newest version through the Envato Wordpress tool and it broke my site. It used to look like this:

The attributes should still show if defined in the sidebar area – if those are a custom addition of categories instead of project attributes, those mods wouldn’t hold through an update unless you did them through a child theme. The mod would need to be reapplied.

You’re welcome! You can choose to have any portfolio display in “lightbox only” mode – if you’re using the portfolio page template, you can control this from the Salient options panel > portfolio tab and if you’re using the portfolio element in the page builder, the option will be directly inside of the configuration options for the element
