Yes, that’s the way I’ve added the template to my pages in the past. But it’s still not showing up the way the blog ultimate shows.

That demo is made up of many different blog elements, all with different styles selected. If you’re referring to just the blog settings for the Salient options panel which get used on archive pages such as http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-blog-ultimate/category/food-for-thought/ it’s the Masonry blog with sidebar, Material masonry style and Enable Sticky Sidebar is set to on
Hi, I see a bug or something, the “Multiple Large Featured” sometimes covers the top elements, the divider and the H2 Title, after some slides it comes to normal, can you please check?

First of all i want to say that this is my favorite Theme. Period!
But i’m trying to update Salient from Version 8.1.0 to Version 8.5.0, but when i do i can’t access the Theme Option Panel anymore. It tries to load the page, but then i end up with an ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hey, yes – you can use field “description” field visible in this secreenshot for that http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/masonrysizing.jpg – once that’s filled out, you can turn off the option in the gallery element for “Display Title/Caption?”

This would require a mod to the “nectar_logo_output” function located in the functions.php file. This could also be brought into a child theme functions.php to avoid update conflicts in the future

Hi, I’m also having problems with my Blog since the update to the latest version. The page doesn’t display properly – sometimes I can see first 8 blogs, sometimes nothing. I keep reloading the page but it behaves very erratically. http://www.galaproductions.co.uk/news/ My setting are Masonry Fullwidth Classic Enhanced. Switching pagination on or off doesn’t make any difference.

I’ve loaded up that URL on Chrome/FF with 10 refreshes each and have not been able to replicate this yet. Please let me know what browser you’re using and if you’ve verified that you’ve cleared any cache on your machine that could be effecting this

Hi, I use Chrome & Safari. I have some screenshots that illustrate the problem if you could give me a link. I’ve cleared the WP cache and browser cache and tried different machines. I have now removed the Blog page from the menu and created a new page (news-2) and just added Blog shortcode in Page Builder to that page. So now when I go to News page I get blank page and the only way to see the content is to reload the page every time. Can’t think what can be causing this. I’ll try to reinstall Salient. Maybe I got corrupted file. Thanks

But that color code is not accepted. Is there a way to use custom color in that shortcode?
Hey, you have to use one of the colors defined in your Salient options panel i.e. Extra-Color-1, Extra-Color-2 etc. If you want a color other than one of those you’d need to use CSS
Yes unfortunately I cannot use the extra-color as they are in use in other places. Would be convenient if you could simply input the color code there.

Hi there, great theme – second time using it! Just one hiccup, I’m using full page rows which I got from the service demo. When I scroll, there’s a pixel line at the top of the page (between rows) which flickers when Ken Burns is applied. Is there any way to get rid of that?

1) Which advertising plugin would you recommend for use with the theme? 2) Are you planning on adding advertising support natively in the theme somewhere in the future? 3) I would like to have the search function & slide out menu from a different skin than the material skin. 1. I don’t have a specific one to recommend in regards, but any well developed plugin for this should function fine with Salient
2. It’s possible, I’ve added your +1 for the idea on the wishlist
3. There’s css needed from the material skin stylesheet, as well as JS code that would need to be altered from the init.js file. Is there a reason you don’t want to use the material skin?
No I like the material skin stylesheet, but I like the big overlapping search from the ascend more, and I like the sidebar hover effect from this one more too: http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-product/. Other than that, I want to keep everything from the new skin . Would it be possible to customize it like that?
That Off Canvas Navigation effect can still be used with the Material skin – just select “Slide Out From Right Hover Triggered” for your style in the Header Navigation > off canvas navigation tab. You don’t have the option to use the Ascend search in the Material skin however, it would much easier to modify the material search to look like the Ascend version rather than try and keep using Ascend all together

Hello! Just wondering, with the new Recent Posts Extra widget options, is it intended that with the ‘featured image hover’ setting, the first post is taller and shows the featured image always, while the rest are shorter and only show the featured image on hover?
If so, how can I make them all the same height, and how could I set all the posts to the same behaviour? i.e. either all the posts show the featured image all the time, or all of them only show it on hover?
Lastly, how do I adjust the opacity of the featured images in the widget?

Amazing, thank you! Just one question – on the blog demo, how do I get the 2nd example? I set it to material skin, which seems to be the 6th one, but the 2nd one has all the posts in alignment with featured posts at the top.
by the way – the theme is awesome but every so often I discover a new awesome thing, like putting social media icons in the main header nav even if the secondary nav is disabled!
Oh and one note – there isn’t an option in the footer social media section to activate the email icon (there is for the header).

That would require custom development as of now, the header.php file could be moved into the a child theme to add the new markup into. There would also need to be a fair amount of CSS to accomplish that design

1. I downloaded the Envato Market plugin and when I look at it there is a “update available” link and shows version as 8.5.
2. When I click that link it takes me to a page and says “the theme is the latest version”
3. BUT when I look at the themes tab after that it still says I’m on version 7.6, rather than 8.5.

I just tried directly in wordpress using the “upload theme” interface under appearance. I am getting the error stating “The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.” Any new ideas for that? This is still urgent!

And I’m unable to properly target the element and change the modify the margin value.
The shortcode doesn’t inherit this css value.

We are having a strange issue I am not sure how to troubleshoot, hoping you can help… sometimes when I click on a blog post, an older post appears.
I clicked on a post
Then a different post
And a totally different post appears
I hit the back button, repeated the process, and the correct post appeared:
This seems to occur 1 out of 6 or 1 out of 8 attempts at accessing blog posts from the dropdown pathway, lately. It only happens this way, not when navigating directly on a blog post URL

Hi, I stopped using woocommerce years ago and switched to EDD because it’s much better. I have the original version of Salient running EDD and I love it. My question is, if I renew my license will I get to download an updated version of the original Salient and will it still be OK with EDD. Also, does the latest version work with EDD?

That’s great. I updated to the latest version of Salient ‘original’ and it’s working great. Do I have to renew my license to get continued support? I have a few style tweaks that don’t seem to work anymore and you guys were great at helping me tweak those in the past. On the homepage under ‘Featured Products’ their supposed to line up in columns of three but for some reason the third column gets pushed on to the next line. https://www.platinumloops.com/ how do I fix that?
