Hello, I have updated all the theme and I still get an error when I go to the menu section the background appears a color and it doesn’t let me modify anything, they could fix it right now I can’t do anything with my theme for that reason, thank you.

This is simply your browser cache actually causing this issue, please clear your browser cache and any plugin cache that you have (if installed) and check again once using either a new browser or incognito mode window in chrome browser please.

Ahh yes, that fixed it. thank you! and by the way, I LOOOVE 5.3! The global option seems like it could be used as a new way to create custom headers and footers with less coding. The 100% height feature is so cool too! Love it!

We need a version of a website for visually impaired users (more contrast fonts, imgages etc). Also we need to switch between this version and an original one with a menu item like changing a skin. Is it possible using Avada?

With Avada Theme Options you can create any kind of layout and can use any color scheme you want, also the images are a part of content so this totally depends on your own choice.
What you queried above is possible very easily using a Multisite plugin where you can create 2 sites and than set different color scheme and content for both and in your menu or inside the header content banner area you can put a Button to switch between both versions

This simply sounds like your cache actually, make sure that you have cleared your all kinds of browser and plugin cache and check with the issue again using another separate browser or incognito mode window in chrome and your issue will go away, if not than please open a support ticket with us and our team will gladly look into this for you.

Yes, that is how easy it is however make sure you talk to the plugin author once and ask them if their plugin is compatible with our theme, if its a free plugin you can simply check it yourself easily.

look every time I update your theme to the new version I keep losing my custom post types and when I dont update the theme because I have a back up of version of version 5.3 . your fusion builder element is completely mess up none of the colors are changing I cant even edit post pages because nothing saves and the fusion builder element goes blank or funny colors

Well, the very first thing I need to make clear is that if you are experiencing an issue please engage with our support team so that we can actually help you. You have valid support but have never created a support ticket before.
There are not loads of things wrong with Avada 5.3, weeks and weeks of Beta testing by our team and external testers ensures that. We are also logically not going to release a version of Avada that is flawed so something else is at play here.
Do you follow the update instructions when updating? Arr you sure you are familiar with the Advanced Options network and how the options work? Are updating manually using FTP or via WordPress? What plugins do you have running? Is WordPress updated? Are your plugins updated? etc etc
These are all things we can check via support and help you understand the root of what you say you are experiencing, we can’t however do that via this comments section. It is not many for theme support

Losing your custom post types on update is not normal, it is nothing the theme controls itself, they are your own custom work.
For color issues, are you on WP 4.9? If so please see this post about it, there are core bugs in WP at the moment that could be a contributing factor: https://theme-fusion.com/knowledgebase/fusion-builder-theme-options-not-working-wordpress-4-9/
Lastly, we can help and hep quickly if you get through our ticket system, we handle support through a ticket system so all incoming tickets are spread out through the entire team (18 people). - How completely does Avada support responsive images/srcset ?
- How well optimised is the theme for the various pagespeed metrics ? e.g. http://gtmetrix.com, http://www.webpagetest.org, https://tools.pingdom.com, https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/, https://varvy.com/pagespeed/—I tried passing some of your demo pages through those tools and they didn’t score very highly. Is that due to a lack of optimisation on the demos or the theme in general ?
- Does the theme use CSS sprites ( where suitable ) ?
- Does the theme already structure its emitting of CSS and JS in “optimised”, “non-blocking” positions in the page?
- Does it use async / defer where appropriate/feasible?
- How well does Avada handle migrating existing sites that make use of Visual Composer ( aka. WP Bakery Page Builder ) shortcodes?
- How well does Avada play with caching plugins like W3 Total Cache, WP Fastest Cache, Super Cache and alternatively Apache – Mod Page Speed ?
- How well does Avada play with offloading static resources to different subdomains in order to improve parallelisation of resource loading by client browsers?
- How about CDN’s ?
I ask because I bought a theme recently that claimed to be fully responsive and optimised for seo & pagespeed but it was all a bit of a false claim. The themes own custom shortcodes did not support srcset at all and it has required a considerable amount of customisation effort on my part to get decent scores with the various testing sites. So I’m shopping around for alternatives that might serve me better.

3. Basically images are a part of content and that is controlled by user itself so its totally your choice if you want to use them, when it comes to icons however we do use FontAwesome and IcoMoon that are rendered as fonts in this case so sprites are not required there at all.
4. Yes, we do. We also have a JS and CSS Compiling method that you can change or disable as per your own requirement using our theme options.
5. I do believe you mean in loading of JS files? we actually use standard WP practice when it comes to that as this is actually a plugin territory and can clash with other plugins however a lot of cache plugins already offer that feature so you can always enable it from there.
6. Basically all the page builders have their own syntax and one can not be converted into other or else it will break the uniqueness of that page builder and that goes for all the builders you use so this is not a possibility.
7. Exceptionally well, we recommend using cache plugins such as WPF cache or any other plugin that suits your requirements, most of the time the cache plugins have issues with some other of your plugins so it totally depends on user which one you want to use, as far as it works with your plugins it should be good with our theme
8. You can host your images and videos to other domains for sure but for some features such as retina logos and others we do need the files to be hosted on the same server where site is hosted so it can take into measure the dimension of files and calculate retina values for proper viewing other than that Avada has no requirement.
9. We are using a CDN on our demos as well so that sums up this for you. We will be very happy for you to be a part of this Amazing Community

That didn’t score as highly as the examples you provided F(35%) and D (60%) – see here: https://i.imgur.com/pmGMMma.png or directly on GT Metrix https://gtmetrix.com/reports/avada.theme-fusion.com/AKbSlRWR – Still its not a showstopper. I appreciate that some pages score worse than others and can take some fine tuning to get right and you provided me with alternative evidence where the pages scored well. So thats all to the good
3. My question about CSS sprites relates to one of the metrics on the Pagespeed testing sites where sometimes they will recommend using CSS Sprites in order to reduce the number of fetches done. My customers existing site is scoring low on that very point with GT Metrix suggesting that a bunch of small images in their existing theme and also in some of their plugins be made in to CSS Sprites to improve their performance by reducing fetches. So, if your theme was to already make use of sprites for sets of small images then that is a bonus

Ok, i understand following WP semantics but as many of the pagespeed testing tools and also wordpress performance enhancing/caching plugins ( or modpagespeed in apache/nginx ) they like to play around with when/where/how CSS/JS is loaded in order to improve performance so I was wondering how well your theme responded to such treatment. However if I understand you well, you say you have an option to pre-minify/aggregate your themes CSS/JS etc then that probably answers some of my question
6. My apologies I asked the question badly. I didn’t mean converting. My customer already has some content that makes use of Visual Composer / WP Bakery Page Builder.
Does your theme have a problem with Visual Composer / WP Bakery Page Builder also being enabled/used ? ( as well as or instead of Avada’s ? )
I ask because a competitors theme who I won’t name also provide their own page builder but they also support Visual Composer – so theirs and/or VC can be used at the discretion of a customer.
Obviously being able to use VC for pre-existing content that makes use of it means that the client doesn’t have to re-write their pages for a new page builder.

10. One final question.
Do your grids/masonry portfolio views support the following scenario:
-) Display a grid displaying the Featured Images from an associated set of portfolio pages where each of those pages could be Content + Featured Image (standard type?), Just Featured Image (Image Type), Content + Featured Image + Video URL and clocking on the Featured Image in the Grid will optionally in a popup display the content or featured image or video link and content = if no popup was wanted then a new page with same info would be displayed.
I ask because a theme I recently bought on the surface seemed to support it but it turned out that actually the associated pages had to be the same type and worked differently depending on the type. e.g. standard types (content+featured image) always displayed in a new page, image types ( optionally in a popup for the featured image or in a new page with content and featured image ) and for video it only ever appeared in a popup with no content. Each type was essentially handled differently and had different capabilities and so was quite inconsistent and none of it supported srcset.

1. Basically that is due to images that we need to further optimise in this case and also when it comes to optimisation you have to take into account each page, its a very involving process but overall we put great effort into it however optimising each page is going to take some time and that can only happen on live sites, since our demos have different pages to showcase different stuff we can only do so much when it comes to inner pages however doing a test on main page of our demo will give you great results.
2. You can always use CSS sprites if you want to, our theme does not have any issues with it but its totally a customer side thing as its actually content but not everyone likes to get into CSS sprites as it takes sometime with the positioning, most people just want to get done with the basic image upload.
3. Regarding the visual composer and other builder plugins, we have not officially tested them along with our theme actually however what we know is that we have seen some of our customers using VC due to the reason that their site was first based on VC so they still use it due to that reason and it does not create issues. However i would strongly suggest you to get into our Fusion Builder as its much easier to use and in future we will be releasing a front end builder based on this so any content made from Fusion Builder will also be convertible to front end builder that is going to change a lot of things and make page building and editing much much easier for you

If the Theme has its own small graphical static resources that could benefit from Spriting then it would be favourable for the theme to be doing that as a performance enhancement ( some themes do ) but if it doesn’t use/provide any such resources then nothing needs to be done and if it does then no doubt I could patch Spriting in myself if necessary. Yes ,clearly any end-user provided graphical static resources that might benefit similarly would need to be done by the end user. It was any small graphical static resources provided by the theme itself I was really asking about. [ in the current theme used by the client it is a bunch of theme provided small images that are causing GT Metrix to complain and suggest Spriting, hence my question about Avada ]
3. Unfortunately my client is concerned about theme lock-in and so unless your Fusion Builder is available as a separate plugin (is it?) they are wary of hitching their wagon to a page building metaphor thats fixed to a specific theme. They like the idea of VC because it means they can easily switch themes according to their needs without having to re-write existing content. If as you say they should be ok to use VC then its not an issue.
4. Thanks for the demo links. From those it seems that clicking on portfolio grid items always click through to a new page which displays the associated content, featured image, video etc. Thats good in that its consistent

Regarding the GTMetrix asking you to add the images in stripes, that is something i will personally ignore and put my efforts on increasing scores points of GTMetrix or loading time via some other resources by optimising further content and other stuff, however it is a personal choice for sure.
Regarding the Fusion Builder, please do note that we will be releasing Fusion Builder as a stand alone plugin to be used with other themes, actually you can still use it with other themes without any issues and you can try switching to other themes where you will see Fusion Builder working all fine and good, however its not a finalised product and need some more finishing before we can officially release it as a stand alone plugin where you will be able to use it with any WordPress theme you want so that is definitely a plan of our team and it will be done soon

1. It is a stand alone plugin but its not available to be used with other themes but Avada yet, this is because its not officially released as a stand alone plugin but it will be released as a stand alone plugin soon

Thanks for your perseverance and putting up with my extensive questions. Your previous reply hadn’t appeared when I wrote my additional followup comment.
I probably forgot to refresh the screen 
, my bad, and Yes – your reply, when I finally saw it , did answer the question properly
Currently we enjoy GT Metrix scores around 98/99% for both Pagespeed and YSlow and sub 2 second load times on cheap VPS hosting for most of the clients content and so would look to get the same ( with effort on our part of course ).
The current theme used by this particular client is dated and scores poorly under ThemeCheck and was built pre-php7.
Based on your responses I am happy to say that I will be recommending Avada to my client and look to move on purchasing it for my client in the next day or two I suspect.
Thanks again for the excellent pre-sales support. You gave clear answers and clarified where necessary. Also, just as important for me, you weren’t afraid to say ‘no’ to a question and to your credit didn’t view having to answer in the negative as a slight on your product .. something that unfortunately one or two of the other theme makers shortlisted for consideration reacted badly too. They had the temerity to try to tell me that we didn’t need the things we were asking about and the performance related things were unavailable in the wordpress world [ complete rubbish of course ].

Just a helping hand… I was so quickly helped by your support team that indicated where the header issue was when it moved a bit higher after 5.3 update . To save time for your customers, with 22px additional padding above and below header (from Avada options-header styling the header in all my 6 websites returned exactly to the previous right height… Your update features are super great!!!!!! Hi, I have recently updated to WP 4.9 and one of the main functionalities broke. When I edit a component, the modal doesn’t save or close. This is a breaking issue, as I can’t edit anything! In the JS console I’ve seen this:

That simply means that you have not updated theme to our latest version that is 5.3 so please do that and your issue with the closing and saving window will be gone, we can assure you that our 5.3 version is 100% compatible with the latest version of WP.

If you update the theme to 5.3 and if you have a child theme activated. you may see some features missing like the template selection in the pages. You will need to activate the parent theme for a moment and check to see if the pages have the template selection. If so, you can go back and select the child theme again. This has never happened to be until now.

This shouldn’t happen as page attribute section should always come up for you no matter if its child theme or parent theme, unless some code in child theme file is conflicting with it. In the changelog for 5.3 you have the following: NEW: Added filters for easily changing the portfolio strings like “Project Details”, “Skills Needed” etc.
I updated to 5.3. can you advise or direct me on how to use the filter so I can change “Skills Needed” to be renamed “Skill Speciality”?
