I’m having some trouble making my site mobile friendly. I haven’t done anything specific to make it mobile-friendly, other than just making sure the responsive setting is on. Is there more documentation or videos on how to make everything mobile-friendly as you input content and elements?

By default Salient will automatically adjust the layouts to fit on mobile devices – you can fine tune column widths from the page builder by editing columns and clicking the “responsive options” tab. However, if your site is not responsive I would need to take a look at the URL to see what’s going on

I am using a Surface 5 and I found the following issue:
- using Mozilla Firefox, I can’t open a link of a button clicking left
- the right click works, you can open it in a new window
- and when I use the touch function of the screen, it opens the link

Pre Sales Question: Is your theme SSL ready?
I’ve seen a number of responses from ThemeNectar asking people to install the SSL Insecure Content Fixer Plugin… which should not be required if the theme is SSL ready.
If there are any ‘fixes’ required for SSL with your theme please provide them as I plan to purchase/install your theme on a domain with SSL already in place.

Hi—I am trying to lowercase the first letter in certain words that start off a sentence. The same way Apple would spell iPhone or iOS. Is there any code or class I can put in the CSS panel for the theme where I can reference it within the text editor on individual pages and posts when needed?

There is no css value to lowercase only the first letter of a word, the css attribute “lowercase” would effect all letters of whatever element it targeted. You could add a css text transform to prevent any auto capitalization, making the text appear how you enter it in all scenarios (not sure which section(s) you’re referring to)

Hi I believe the new contact page that was added to the last update has a problem, fIt’s only working in chrome, and nothing else from what I can tell.

The page displays fine, but when you hit submit it doesn’t work unless I’m using chrome. The form does get sent to my email, but the user sees no confirmation message. The form appears blocked in other browsers when you try and send it. I opened a ticket (1367039) but so far I haven’t solved the problem:-(
Hi. If i put on a activate Fullscreen Row a long text in a “Tab” the content gets cut off. Is there a possibility to get the whole content from these Tab with the “Fullscreen Row” Option?

This is a Staging-URL and not open for external usage.
I have “Salient 8.5” and i activate on the site the “Activate Fullscreen Rows”-function. If this feature is “activated” my tab-content (45 rows) disappears after row 34. If i deactivate the “Activate Fullscreen Rows” the whole content appears.
it looks like the tab shows the content till the end of the row after this it scrolls down to the next row. “Row Overflow” is on “Provide Scrollbar”
i dont have any own code or other plugins in there. this is a plain installation with only the salient theme + child. There are no extras.

Flickity, inside tabs, does not work correctly. It breaks if “open in lightbox” is enabled and/or if you type in an image dimension.

Hi, up until recently we have been using a regular button with Vimeo link and adding class pp to use as a lightbox. This no longer seems to be working. When clicking on the button, a message pops up saying ‘this image could not be laoded’. Aware that there is now a dedicated video lightbox button in VC, but we’d quite like to keep the current style, which I’m not sure how to do. Website is rblsite.co.uk/grahamolver and the issue in question appears on the section with 3 film buttons halfway down the page

Is there a Dutch version of the .po, .mo and nectar_salient_strings.pot files available? I guess a lot of Salient theme users already translated these files for them selves. It would be quite handy to be able to get hold of a copy. Is there a place for sharing these files?

By the way; I use the Salient Child theme with the plugin Loco Translate. To make the translation I added this code to my wp-config.php:
define('WPLANG', 'nl_NL');
and copied the /lang/ files default.mo and default.po to the Salient Child theme directory. After that I renamed the files to nl_NL.mo and nl_NL.po. I then ran the Loco Translate plugin and translated the needed strings. But this was not working. Loco Translate translated the nl_NL.mo and nl_NL.po files but the /lang/ directory form the Salient Child theme is not used to load the files.
I had to copy the files to the Salient (main) theme /lang/ directory to make it work. This will bring me into problems when I will update the Salient theme some where in the near future since I will add the default.mo and default.po files back and therefor the translation will not work any more. At least I think.
Can you please advice how to handle this situation best?

Are the Dutch language files already available? If so, where can I find them? Which language files are available at all for Salient? If so, where can I find them?
The are 94,897 Salient items sold today. I guess at least 10.000 (low estimation) authors run it in another language than English and have done some translations. It will be quite handy if other authors would share their language files with you. To prevent people doing the same thing over and over again.
What do you think?

Hello, Wondering if anyone can help me. My mobile menu is no longer showing. After the last Salient update, it is missing. I am using the landing service style. Hi. When I insert a portfolio element into a page and select make sortable, there don’t appear to be any options for sorting. It appears on the right as a drop down in one color. Is there a built in way to fix this? If not what do you suggest?

1. It seems that you current filter settings are on the horizontal layout, have you already found the configuration options within the element?
2. The masonry item sizing will only be used if the featured image is set for the project – right now you have an image uploaded into the “custom thumbnail” field. Please remove it from there and use the featured image to see that size take effect

Hi, Ok that worked. How do I get the horizontal filters to look the way they do when I set the page template to Portfolio. For the moment they are centered because if I push them left or set them to default they go to the extreme edges https://imgur.com/a/OAQ6B
But over all the horizontal bar doesn’t feel as intuitive as it does using the portfolio page template. Speaking of which, I don’t know what happened, but when I used to change the page template to portfolio a portfolio section was inserted into the top part of the page. This is no longer working on the page in question. Can you help me figure out why?

Salient uses a custom version of Visual Composer for the page builder. In order to have access to the Salient specific elements, you must be using the Salient theme

On your main landing page at http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-promo/, how do I create a portfolio section like you have under Installable Demos? I would like to create something similar, with the “New” buttons, hover effects, etc. I tried all the portfolio options and none worked. I then used the tab module, but can’t figure out how to add the buttons or make my images hover like yours.

It is indeed a portfolio element set to the style “Meta below thumb w/ shadow hover”. If you don’t have that as an option you probably just need to update to the latest release of Salient. As for adding the “new” tags on them, that is accomplished via a css class named “nectar-new-item” that can be added into the “Custom CSS Class Name” field.

As of now, you could create your own words with css classes – the new class was only made for demo purposes
