Hey there. Is there a way, without customization, to play video from a lightbox grid? For example, where the thumbnail displays, can that be video instead?

Never mind… just found it

Hey arteest,

glad you found what you were looking for :)

Hi All. I have just installed Salient theme and Minimal portofio demo but unfortunately it doesn’t look like official demo. It’s like normal website with post one by one in one column with another one on right side with categories like new comments, new posts etc. What I need to do if I want have similiar look as official demo?

Thanks a lot for the clue! It’s working now.

Hi again. I almost have what I expected from the theme. I choosed simple photography layout on my main website. In the demo if you click on the photo you open the gallery (all pictures from main site only). Could you please advise me what I need to do to have more pictures after choose one from main site? I mean for example I have 10 portraits but on main website I have only 1 as a cover but rest of them is “inside” which will be shown after click on the cover. Thanks guys!

Hey,

Could you kindly share your URL in regards so I can see your setup? By default you can turn any portfolio element into a gallery by using the option for “lightbox only” however, each separate item in the portfolio can’t have its own gallery when clicked, all the items of the portfolio will be apart of the same singular gallery

Cheers

Hi,

1.Is this theme support give donation plugin, 2. what all the payment getaways this theme supports

Hey Yusuframzadc,

1. I haven’t personally tested with that donation plugin but can’t see why it wouldn’t work

2. Salient adds support for WooCommerce out of the box and will work with any gateway supported through that plugin

Cheers

I bought extended support. But when I try to submit a ticket, it keeps telling my I need to renew my support! Very Frustrating!!!

It’s a beautiful theme – but two things that never seem to work great – and have been problematic for a long time – I am having trouble with again…

I am trying to align a row of 3 columns to the bottom. But it WILL NOT do it. When it looks good on Chrome – it looks bad on Safari. When it looks good on Safari, it looks bad on chrome. I have to add different dividers and play with the pixels in order to line it up. It’s just not efficient nor good web design practice. Furthermore – the responsive image module is very difficult to work with. When I try using it, it just blows up gigantic. Why is there a limit to 100%? Why not 50% and support retina?

I want a responsive image, but, one that is optimized for retina displays (so max width is 50%). But I cannot do that with this theme. It’s very frustrating. I wish I could either set the max width to 50% (no option). Or stipulate the exact width size myself. It’s made this specific problem extremely challenging.

Right now I just need to get this row to line up to the bottom. Please help.

Hey nickpucci, sorry to hear you’ve been facing issues – as far as the support forum goes, the developer of ticksy is aware of this issue and is working on fixing it. For now you can still post by using a new email to add your new license code or you can feel free to post here or reach out via email in the meantime.

1. This should be accomplished using the “Equal Height” column option available in your row settings, and then setting the “Content position” to “Bottom”. I’ve just tested that on Safari and Chrome to ensure it works as expected, can you please share a URL where you’ve set those and it’s not behaving correctly?

2. The single image element will fill the column it’s contained in so you could use a smaller column to achieve the width you need and alter that width on a per viewport basis via the responsive settings tab when editing your columns. If you just want to blanket it at 50% without changing the column, a line of CSS could handle this that I could provide given you can share the page URL

Cheers

Hey, I just checked that page on Chrome & Safari and and getting the same result – I removed your divider divs using the browser inspector to verify that without them all the content in each of the columns is aligned at the bottom of the column. https://imgur.com/a/gcu4u Can you please explain a bit more what isn’t working?

There have been heaps of updates for the blog side of things, is there any chance you guys would be releasing more customising options for the portfolio? Would love to see some more column options (2 columns in particular, rounding featured images etc. like the blogs) and the options for related portfolios within a single project. Loving everything else, keep up the good work!

Hey ohmybrooke, more portfolio options will be added in the future – the update before the blog focused one was portfolio based :) Thanks for the requests!

Cheers

hi. description says 200 demos, and 525+ shortcodes, but on your website there’s no where near that much? where do i find this?

do you have ability to handle modal popups for newsletters, or when a user leaves the site?

also, does your theme use the wordpress Live Theme Options?

Hey guy23,

1. It says 200 section templates, not full demos – the section templates are available in the Salient studio. This is covered on the front of the main demo page at the “Meet Salient Studio” row with a video demonstration available as well. Here’s an additional resource: http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/salient-studio/

2. There is no modal for html content at this time, only for photos and videos

3. No, Salient is powered through redux theme options

Cheers

hi. on this page: http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-app/#simplify is there an option to turn off the side indicators? i’ll have maybe 20 sections, and i don’t want the dots, but i like the sliding way it goes perfectly to the section. thanks. also, if i buy this theme, is this exact demo included?

Hey guy23, There is an option to hide the dot navigation in a nectar fullscreen page row setup. Also – that demo is indeed included, however a few of the BG images are swapped with placeholders though the structure/styling will fully be imported.

Cheers

theme was working a few weeks ago, and suddenly, it has stopped loading the home page.

Hey spotsunknown, please share your actual URL so I can take a look to help out

Cheers

Hello, we’re wanting to put an entire full width banner above the already existing Salient header area, however every attempt is being overshadowed by the existing header. I’ve disabled the “fixed” header for both desktop and mobile but it still doesn’t seem to have an effect. I did try adding:

#header-outer { top: 120px !important; }

However because of the mobile format, and the fact that this additional banner we’re adding has its own responsive code, it doesn’t seem to allow the Salient header to flex up or down with the other banner code depending on the auto-adjusted height the browser fits both banners into.

Two questions…

1. Is there a better way to add our own banner PHP/HTML code above the header where the site doesn’t interfere with the Salient header? 2. If item 1 doesn’t work, what would be the best use of CSS to override this issue so the header is not trying to always fix or absolute position itself to the top of the browser window?

Thank you…

Hey lookwhoo,

The easiest way to do it would be to make the Salient header position: relative to allow it to automatically move down depending on what’s above it. Add this into the custom css box in your Salient options panel:

body #header-space {  display: none!important; }
html body #header-outer:not(.parallax-contained) {
    position: relative!important;
}

Make sure you keep the option on for “Header Remove Desktop Stickiness” as well.

Cheers

This works BEAUTIFULLY!! Thank you very much! Happy New Year.

Hey,

glad to hear! Happy new year to you as well :)

Hello! Really best theme in the market! I would like to use the same header I have in desktop version (Centered Menu Alt) also in the mobile version, but I can’t. When I load my site from a mobile device I get this header that slides from the right to left. Happy new year!

Thanks a lot iliaslois :)

In order to accomplish this, you would need to disable the responsive aspect of Salient all together – which is available from the Salient options panel > general settings > functionality tab

Cheers

Thank you very much!

You’re welcome :)

Whats the best way to create full-width rows on HTML pages that don’t use the page builder? I don’t like using the visual editor. The container class on each page consistently manipulates regular HTML. I used to use a custom page.php doc to remove the container class but that doesn’t seem like the best solution long term.

Is there any reason why there isn’t a full-width page template similar to other themes?

Also, i just notice a bug with new template – when you do a search the logo becomes offset to the right – http://cmgventures.staging.wpengine.com/?s=seo

Hey,

1. There’s a shortcode for a full width section you can use anywhere in Salient, outside of the page builder, if you don’t want to create a custom page template that could be kept in a child theme:

[full_width_section text_color="Light"] content here.. [/full_width_section]

2. This will be sorted in the next update – for now, add this into the custom css box in the Salient options panel:

body.search.material #header-outer .span_9 {
  margin-right: 0!important;
}

How can I make the letters of the smaller mobile menu

Hey tumarcaenfacebook, please share your URL so I can check your settings to assist

Cheers

You can alter this via the Salient options panel > Typography tab > Off Canvas Navigation field :)

Hey! Could you please look at ticket #1412167? Basically, I’ve run into an issue where portfolio category and attribute titles get pushed into the nav menu. After a bunch of testing I’ve tracked the problem to having portfolio items with a featured image in them.

I’ve tested with all CSS edits removed and all plugins deactivated and the same problem is still there. I also rebuilt the header transparency settings at Andrew’s suggestion, and the problem starts as soon as header transparency is turned on.

There’s also an issue with H4 tags displaying very oddly on portfolio pages which I happened to notice at the same time! They are fine on regular pages.

Thanks!! And happy new year :)

Hey!

1. You’ll still be able to see when the real update is released through the Envato Market plugin :)

2. There is different styling applied to h4s when in the sidebar div, for now you can overwrite this with the following CSS

body #sidebar h4 {
    font-family: Lovelo, sans-serif;
    letter-spacing: 2px;
    font-size: 20px;
    line-height: 26px;
}

ok wonderful thanks, will email you! and re 2, aha great, I didn’t realize it was intentional :) that’s all I needed to know. thanks again!

Cheers! :)

Hello, I just bumped into an issue with the theme and the Essential Grid plugin, I wanted to create a video gallery with it, but the lightbox is not working at all. I did everything, the last was to disable the theme and use the default WP theme, the lightbox works fine outside Salient. :(

This is what their support says:

“Please contact your theme author to ask if theme is compatible with latest version of Essential Grid plugin and if they could check what is conflicting the ESG’s light-box from theme and fix it so both can be used together.”

Hope you can share your thoughts on this.

Thanks and a Happy 2018!

Hey! Please verify that you have the option enabled “Disable Fade Out On Click” in the Salient options panel > page transitions tab

Cheers

I think that works, I will test further, in the meantime, thanks!

You’re welcome :)

Hello again, I understand that I’m supposed to renew support to receive support, but the only reason I need support is because of issues that came as a result of an update. I don’t think it’s fair to release an update that changes site behavior and then charge for help to make a site behave as it did before. Also, not 100% sure but I don’t believe support for this theme had to be purchased back when I purchased this theme years ago.

Anyway,

I don’t know why (this wasn’t happening before) but my portfolio elements aren’t displaying correctly when viewed on large viewports. I have three columns per row, and when viewed on a large viewport, the columns do not stretch to remain full width like they should. Is there any way to resolve this and keep the rows to three columns of portfolio images?

This is the page with the issue: http://im.dakotabrinkert.com/photography/

It’s also creating a blank space between gallery rows when the viewport made small.

I also wouldn’t mind displaying these as single images, but I’m having a hard time figuring out how to create a hover color overlay with text on single images. Whichever is a better/easier fix works with me

Hey TheRooster, I responded already in regards to the same question you posted a little before this one – please see that in regards :)

Hi,

I’m having issues with the NEX Ultimate contact form plugin when using your theme.

I have set the form up to look like this: https://blufusion.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/should.jpg Yet, on the front end it looks like this: https://blufusion.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/does.jpg This is the message I sent to them: https://blufusion.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/my-message.png And this is the reply I got: https://blufusion.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/reply.png

So, can you help fix this issue?

Thanks

Ben

Hey Ben, Salient provides general styling for form elements to match the theme based on your selection in the Salient options panel > form styling tab – turn off the minimal form styling in the “Overall Form Style” field to fix most of those issues

Hi there,
Is there a way to keep the AJAX page transitions and the lightbox functionality at the same time? Enabling the AJAX transitions disables the lightbox right now.

Please advise.

Hey Romanesco, this will be fixed in the next update – for now you would have to use the standard page transition method

I having an issue where saving changes redirects me to the edit.php page

Hey eideindustries, what version of WP & Salient are you using? Did this just start occurring recently or has it always been an issue for you? The more information you can give the better I can assist you

Cheers

It started recently, I have WordPress Version 4.9.1, Salient Version: 8.5.3, Salient Visual Composer Version 5.2.4.

Hey eideindustries,

Thanks for the information – did it occur after an update or seemingly randomly? Are you referring to saving changes on pages or in the options panel? Also, have you reached out to your hosting company in regards to verify nothing was changed in regards to security settings which could be effecting this?

Cheers

on a specific page, i am trying to aggregate blog posts in tabs using the masonry layout. however, the blog posts will only display correctly in the active tab, and the layout is messed up in other tabs. what would i have to do to make it work? a little research revealed that this is because the masonry script is unable to calculate the page dimensions for inactive tabs. but, im at a loss of how to fix this. help!

Hey anuragitanejo,

I’ve noted to fix this for the upcoming update :)

Cheers

when is that scheduled to come out? could you suggest a fix in the meantime?

Hey anuragitanejo, you could reach out in regards via the contact form on my author page from the account which holds the license for Salient to get access to the beta

Hi, Great Theme!!! How I change a bg color over the image in a masonry blog style with article/post-link? I’d like to eliminate the bg over the image Thanks

Hey, kindly change the snippet to this instead:

  display: none!important;
}
