It’s because you are using Dark Header skin. Try just to add this part of code:
nav.main_menu>ul>li.active > a {
color: #df0a15!important;
}
in Select Options > general > Custom Code > Custom Css and this should be resolved.

HELP! Need answer before weekend is here! PRIVATE TICKET #1388630 … My PORTFOLIO from the HOME NAVIGATION is broken AGAIN. This keeps happening and I have no idea why.
Also, Visual Composer is still messed up even my other tickets asking about this. I’ve reinstalled the theme and WPBakery and nothing works.
Why does this site require SO MUCH EFFORT to keep it working? I spend more time problem solving this site than I do finishing it. It can’t seem to finish it because I am always trying to fix things. 
I hate saying that because it’s such a beautiful theme. Thank you.

I am trying to translate your Theme to German. I have used Poedit and set up a new translation based on the “en_US.po” file in the following location wp-content/themes/hazel/languages. I uploaded a de_DE.mo and de_DE.po file to the same location, however, the translations do not show up on the site.
Could you please provide me with some quick pointers what I am doing wrong?

Stupid question, but I wanted to confirm first—this theme does not use any of the auto-created thumbnails that WordPress generates, correct? I want to make sure before I got into my FTP folders and delete all these files to save space on my server. (I think there is a way to make WordPress stop making all those versions, and i will figure that out once I know this theme doesn’t need those smaller files). Thank you!

WordPress will generate 3 files, and WooCommerce if used will also create 3 media files for images, and our theme use custom image sizes especially for portfolio items, so it won’t be good to delete these images if you are using portfolio functionality. You can find add_image_size functions and all sizes which are registered from the theme inside of hazel theme folder / functions.php file.

Hi, is there a way to make the first images on the page load before the rest of the images (images that are not in view on screen yet)? I have a few portfolio pages that have about 90 images in them (wedding photographer, big galleries!). The file sizes range from 200K-400K each (usually 300K each). So the page takes a while to load. It would be great if the first images on the page loaded before the rest so potential clients are not looking at a blank page thinking the site doesn’t work, or worse, get impatient and leave the site. I do have some smaller galleries with about 20 images or so and those load just fine, of course. I do want to have a few galleries with a lot of images though to showcase a lot of images from one wedding. ... I know that other sites can do this where the first images load first but wasn’t sure if this theme can do that? If it can, where is the setting? Thank you!

Unfortunately theme doesn’t have option for lazy loading, but maybe you can achieve that with some plugin for that purpose, or maybe you could use some preloading plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/Preloaders/ . Beside that we can suggest to try to optimize images a bit, so they are slightly above 100k. If you are using Photoshop software use safe for web option and choose jpeg file format because of better compression.

Yes, I optimize my images. I select a max of 400K when exporting from Lightroom which is about 60% quality. I don’t want to go lower than that visually. I’ll look into lazy loaders and pre loaders. I didn’t know the specific terms or that plugins would be ok so this helps.

Pre-loaders and lazy loader plugins do not seem to work on PORTFOLIO PAGES. I’ve tried multiple different plug-ins. Nothing works. I did install an image optimizer to push them all again and the file sizes are 35% smaller, but the load times are still ridiculous (we are talking a half minute to a minute) which is completely unacceptable for a photographer’s gallery. There must be something that can be done. Like a LOAD MORE button IN THE PORFOLIO PAGES?
I’ve tried on my cell phone, my desktop, and at my day job (so various methods and different cell/cable/WiFi connections.

The Select Clients Shortcode seems to have stopped working with the latest Hazel theme update. It no longer appears in the Visual Composer menu after the theme and plugin update and previous shortcodes are not rendered.

HI, since last update many things have stopped working, to see if it was my issue I installed a test site with the theme and even the demos have fails, for example the circles in the olivia theme front page at the botton dont work anymore. Some of the item I used to put in my pages are no longer available from the visual editor, even those you use in your own demos. Working in any solution? THanks

Woocommerce and visual composer are way outdated and I need updated plugins from you guys. BUT a bigger issue is… Right now woocommerce shipping isn’t working. We have free shipping set if you spend $50 or more and that works fine. The issue is that if you spend under $50 there is no visible shipping option and you can’t check out. This is a brand new issue. Please take a look at this asap. We get many sales from online purchases and this is a major issue.

Are you guys planning to update this theme to last Woocommerce version any time soon? There are some woocommerce templates that are not in the last version. Also, some template strings are not written properly and the translations are not filled up:
hazel/woocommerce/cart/cart.php on line 130 should be<?php _e( 'Proceed to checkout', 'woocommerce' ); ?>
But instead is <?php _e( 'Proceed to Checkout', 'woocommerce' ); ?> (note capital C)
I need this to have the theme properly translated with Woocommerce translation strings.

Hi there, I am using Hazel. In one row I have three colums, two with text, on with an empty space filled with a pic. Now I don’t know how to get the height of the three columns aligned, they look different different screens. I tried to adjust the empty space height, to add a backround pic to the row instead of to the empty space, and to adjust the backround colour of the row, yet I don’t make it.
