I notice that Pretty Photo seems to have been removed in the most recent version; is there a reason for this, and will it be re-implemented, or an alternative to ‘Magnific’?

Prettyphoto was removed in favor of the new lightbox plugin as development on prettyphoto stopped a couple years ago and had some issues with https. Are there any specific features from it you’re trying to replicate with Magnific?

Thanks, understood; so confirming ‘Magnific’ is the new lightbox, or is there a different one again? At the moment, I just have that & ‘none’ listed
Magnific is the only lightbox option in Salient in the current version, but the none option still exists if you don’t want that to be loaded

Sorry if the following info is there, but I wasn’t able to find it in your documentation:
If I’ve got a gallery, opened via a text link, that up until now relied on PrettyPhoto and used the tag rel=”prettyPhoto[galleryName]” to trigger, is there a simple way I can go through and change these so I can use Magnific?
I’ve tried class=”magnific” and a few others, but not having much luck here…if you could just point me in the right direction or provide an example, that would be fantastic.

You need to give all the items you wish to be in the same gallery the “magnific” class on the link as well as the gallery “gallery”.

Hi there. I recently updated to the latest release and there appears to be theme generated CSS styles with an !important tag all over the place. Styling on a bunch of plugins and pages is broken. For example at the following link I can’t style the button since the theme appears to be over-riding any CSS from the contact form plugin: http://urlgone.com/2b8f71/. Am I doing something wrong?

I can’t get the Page Header VIDEO to play on Safari browser. It used to work fine before but recently it only shows a frozen frame. I have webm, mp4, and ogv formats all linked up properly. I tried clearing cache too. Video plays fine on other browsers (Chrome and Firefox) but not Safari. I’m running all latest Salient and Wordpress. Help please!

Hi there, I’m experiencing 3 problems with tabbed content.
1. I have placed 4 tabs in column. When I add an element within a tab, it appears in each tab! It’s like each element is automatically duplicated for all tabs. For instance a text block or a button. Why is that?
2. One of the 2 equal columns is where I have the tab content but the navigation bar of the tabs is split into a second line on a 12 inch mac screen. The responsive option is turned on. How can i prevent that?
3. The button color in the tab content is black but when I make a change it turns into light grey and then it turns black again. Why is that?

Target specific page for styling?
Hi Nectar, I would like to do some customisation of the Woocommerce shop page.
Specifically I want to hide the class .nectar-shop-header on the main shop archive page only (but remain visible for sub categories, and products). I’d also like to hide the main woo archive loop on the main shop page (because I used a fancy box grid for categories instead).
it seems it’s quite difficult to target this page for template overrides – the template components are loaded by functions instead of relying on template files. Also, there is no page-id-classes loaded into the body so I can’t target a page specifically.
Can you tell me the best way to target specific page/ posts in this theme? Thanks!

The following selector should work for targeting just the main shop page and not category archives:

Hey! Sorry to be back so soon but I’ve just noted a couple of things and not sure whether they are bugs or not.
- I tried two caching plugins (W3TC with your suggestions and Hyper Cache) and both of them resulted in the portfolio main page not updating immediately on mobile/tablet when adding or deleting a portfolio item. The new item did show up eventually but it took a while and was inconsistent, even after I cleared the cache. On desktop it showed up fine. When I removed the plugins the new items showed up or deleted normally.
I’d prefer to use Hyper Cache if possible because it seems to be much faster than W3TC.
- On tablets (like an ipad), the portfolio meta doesn’t show up persistently on the items like it does on mobile. I am not sure if this is because it thought it was a desktop (since it had switched to the desktop menu)? I increased the mobile breakpoint and the menu turned into the mobile menu, but still no meta.
- In the Performance Optimization Guide, the BWP Minify plugin seems to be out of date. Would you have another suggestion?

1. I would need to see your cache settings to assist with this – if you’re enabling disk caching or some other forms of hard caching of pages it could cause this issue. Have you checked if it got resolved by using the “Purge all caches” option in W3TC?
2. Could you kindly share the URL in regards where I can see this to assist?
3. You can also use the minification option in W3TC – I haven’t tested the Hyper Cache plugin, but if your sites works after enabling it then yes

Ok, thanks! Purge all caches didn’t help sadly I’ve stuck with Hyper Cache for now – the settings page is at Settings -> Hyper Cache. Please let me know if you find anything… in case you deactivate and reactivate Hyper Cache for any reason, it needs a line added to wp-config which you can do from a plugin I’ve installed.
The login info is on ticket #1412167 and so is the portfolio url, for the meta display issue. By the way, also noticed, the portfolio doesn’t paginate – it does infinite scroll no matter whether I turn pagination on or off – is this normal?

Also I’m running the beta version that you sent me, to fix the problem with the portfolio category title getting stuffed into the nav menu – it was happening when projects had a full height header. Just to note that the problem is fixed for categories but not for project attributes, so hopefully that is also an easy fix that can be added.
And just wanted to double check – since I’m running the beta do I need to do anything special to get the regular update the next time it is pushed out through the Envato Market plugin?

That effect is intentionally disabled and not available when using the body border style as of now – enabling would require some custom development as of now. However, i’ve noted the idea to allow it for the wishlist

1. Unforutnately that couldn’t happen with CSS easily, it would require a file mod to the single.php to simply add the title within the main content div
2. Do you have a slash you’re adding in the custom link before the anchor? i.e. ”/#portfolio” – if so, change it to just be ”#portfolio”. If that doesn’t work for you

If you need anchor links to work from other pages, instead of just adding the anchor you could change the custom link to be the full link i.e. http://justadandak.com/#portfolio

Hey, because the URL is technically on the same page WP automatically will add the current class. However, you could add this into the custom css box in your Salient options panel to remove it:

I have a blog post where I want the inserted images to have lightbox functionality, where they can be clicked and made larger. I saw in the Salient plugin that there is an option to make all image links lightbox, but it didn’t seem to work, and I’d prefer to only make these ones use lightbox.

Do you know if there’s a reason on the Custom Heading element that I cannot choose all the typeface options for a font that are available in the Theme Options>Typography? For example, in theme options, there’s 10+ variations of the font to choose from for “Montserrat”, but in the Custom Heading typeface selections only provide 2 selections. See screen: http://prntscr.com/hwom15 – Now i’ll have to use up one of my selections in the theme options just to achieve a lighter looking variation of the font because I don’t see them in this element.

I was wondering if you could take a look at my site http://csmurphy.com I updated a few plugins and when I went to check the front end I get nothing but a white screen and a error500 message.
Is there any way to identify which plugin is causing my site not to show and if so is it as easy as going into the file structure of the site and removing that plugin from the plugins folder?
I also cannot access the wordpress wpadmin dashboard to make any updates with the theme so I’m kind of stuck here.

It seems the major issue bringing down your page speed score is just related to some images you’ve added without properly compressing them for the web. Please review your images on that URL such as:

The current sizes of them are between 800kb 1.2mb – you could get them down to around 300 or less in most cases

Hi, No problem. Please look at it on https://gtmetrix.com if you can. You will see a lot of issues. Here is the link to the video you requested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jfodvKUGbo So in debugging it on Chrome and Firefox, you can see it keeps calling up the video over and over kinda in a loop. Also, this is the youtube video playing on the homepage background. So we tried to shorten the video on youtube to 45 sec. and that was of no help at all.
