Hi Salient team, is this theme still being actively updated? I see the last update was November of last year. Will you be updating the built-in plugins to the latest versions? Are there any new widgets planned for the Salient Studio editor? It seems like the updates have slowed down for this theme, which is disappointing since I use it for a lot of my projects. Hope to hear from you soon, thanks!

Yes Salient is still actively updated, we’ve been hard on at work on the latest update.
Updates have not slowed down, historically feature based releases always have had months inbetween them as we don’t rush features.
The next release will bring VC to the current, as well as add new studio templates. Feel free to reach out to get on the beta list

I have multiple photo galleries in a carousel element (each item is a gallery) though sometimes you can’t click on the image to open prettyphoto and the cursor will instead change to the “grabbing hand” to rotate the carousel. Is there an way to fix this?

Sure, we’re using the Owl Carousel with 1 column on everything.
The image gallery is Image Grid Style with 4 columns and meta on hover + entire thumb link.

Hey, owl carousel only allows click events on links when not dragging (i.e. not moving the mouse between pressing down and releasing). When testing on my end i’m finding that to work properly – can you kindly share your URL in regards so I can take a look and test?

First of all, amazing theme, everything has been a breeze to set up and the templates you’ve provided in the page builder are SO convenient you have no idea. Or you do, either way, thank you for creating this. I’ll be buying a second license soon, too!
Now of course there’s always a “but”, but in my case it’s the tiniest thing you can imagine:
You know how the dark/light versions of the logo change depending on the background when the header is transparent? From the settings, it appears you meant to do the same for the menu text, but this isn’t working for me for some reason. When you scroll to the top, even if the logo switches to the white-version, the text stays to the “Header Starting Text Color” one, and the underlining is not in the Accent Colour, but in the same colour as the menu. Is there an easy fix for this?

Hey Loran! The header starting text color is actually what gets called when the transparent header is active, it’s a way to customize it from being the default white to another value. Try to unset the color you have in there to get the default coloring for your transparent menu
in the previous and next links for portfolio items, where can I remove the word “project” from them and have it just say “previous” and “next”

Hey There, We recently noticed that one of our SEO plugins (SmartCrawl by WPMU DEV) is having an issue with Salient. Both your theme and that plugin are pretty popular so seems they should work well together.
BThe basic issue is that while editing the “Home” page on our site… the values entered into the SmartCrawl settings aren’t saved. This only occurs on the homepage of the site. If we disable all plugins, the issue still occurs however if we disable salient, the issue is resolved.
We reached out to their support and they looked into it however they wanted us to reach out to your support for a possible fix? Any ideas?

Hi,
After updating to the latest salient theme we noticed anyone making edits via firefox can’t update any content. I tried 4 different versions of Firefox and none of them allow you to save a content change – however other browsers such as Chrome do. Is this something the developers are aware of? Many of our content managers have requested help since the latest update.
Also, we have tested this update on other sites to narrow the issue down but all seem not to be working with the past latest versions of Firefox. Thanks!
P.S. I also updated WordPress and using the latest version of the salient visual composer as suggested in a previous comment – still no luck.
Update: Fixed! I removed the visual editor via backend and installed the same version (but new?) again and worked. Just need to be careful with a site with hundreds/thousands of active users!

Hello, I’m trying to override nectar_options_img in my Child Theme functions.php but it does not seem to work: Adding add_action( ‘init’, ‘nectar_options_img’); in functions.php of the child, crashes the site. Thank you!

Is there a good example how a language selector is integrated into a Salient menu bar design? The Salient design is so nice but I haven’t found a good way to integrate the language selector. I am not looking for technical advice just some good design example of folks who use Salient on a multilingual website.

Modifying the content that appears inside of a magnific popup would require custom development as the current portfolio works by passing an image URL to magnific – there’s no area to add in custom markup by default and the magnific script is what creates all of the markup
