My Salient Visual Composer doesn´t work anymore, after updating my website to Wordpress 4.9.2.
My Salient VC is the version 4.3.5.
There´s any solution for this?

Hi ThemeNectar, great theme like always, and your updates are amazing! Thanks again for your work. I have a question. I just added a german translation of my website where there is also a blog section. Everything is ok, but the blog posts, that i would like to show just in english, don’t show up in the german translation. In WPML i already checked the “Display all post”, not just the translated ones. I fear the problem being “Please note that this setting affects only blog posts queried by the main loop in a theme’s index.php template.” from the WPML plugin. Otherwise the only solution would be create fake translation for every post..

Have you already reached out to WPML in regards to get clarifcation? I’ve been wrapping up compatibility testing with them directly to get the 100% compatibility guarentee, and that’s noy an item they’ve found to be an issue yet.

Was it just using the core WordPress blog post page with the gallery option selected, or by using WPBakery Page Builder (Visual Composer)?
If you did use the core WordPress blog editor, what gallery options were used?

Hey man! Hope all is well. I am having trouble understanding how the facebook pixel custom conversions works with this theme.
On say Clickfunnels you just add the full line of pixel code along with the corresponding event such as generate lead script into the a javascript editor in the options panel but on Salient, if we already added the pixel to the Salient options panel does that add it to the header of all the pages including future pages you make? If so to add an individual event to track a lead conversion, do I just add the
<script> fbq(‘track’, ‘Lead’); </script>
into a raw jS outscript element on the individual page? Or since the general pixel code is already added do I only have to create custom versions then it will automatically track the different custom conversions by URL alone? I hope this makes sense man. Its different with say Clickfunnels where I have to add the entire pixel code on each page and add the custom conversion script for each page i.e (lead, purchase, add to cart).

The area for scripts in the Salient options panel > css/script releated tab will place the script on every page in your site. If you need a different script on certain pages you would need to either use the js element in the page builder or enqueue the scripts separately, conditionally with a child theme.

Dear support, I am building a new website using your theme. I have imported the corporate 2 demo and everything is working, however I have some css issues with the 3rd party plugin. This plugin handles his own stylesheet for fields.
Is there a way to fix this issue? Or am i am able to disable the stylesheet for fields? Or for 3rd party plugins?

Hey dutchtony! In the Salient options panel > form styling tab, change your “Overall Form Style” to “Inherit from theme skin”. If it’s still giving you an issue, kindly share the URL where I can take a peek
Please tell me there are settings somewhere for changing the height of the page title section so that it reflects properly on all devices?
Went in and changed it with custom css but then it only looks okay on a full screen….or will I have to be dealing with breakpoints and such?

You can assign those widgets from the Appearance > widgets section in your admin panel to the “Blog sidebar”. The widgets used are Nectar Popular Posts, Nectar Recent Posts Extra & Tag cloud

I’m from Brazil and my English is not very good, but come on. About the instruction provided in Dude24’s comment on: “On the first page, for each post box, how can I hide categories and author names? I just want to show only image and text for each post.” I followed the statement adding in the panel <general> settings <> custom css code the code: body .masonry-blog-item .meta-category, .masonry-blog-item .grav-wrap, .masonry-blog-item .meta-author {display: none! important; } And in the “Blog” <> stiling option, I selected blog type masonry Blog Fullwidth and Masonry Style Classic. But, I keep seeing categories and author names on the first page. Help me please. Thanks!

Unfortunately there’s no way to do this automatically, a custom query would need to be built in that case. You could however create this effect manually using page builder elements as links to your self related defined pages. The element “Fancy box” would be a good one to use for this
There seems to be an issue with the child theme not recognizing salient (the installed parent theme) and as a result, is not currently working. Supposedly other new users are having the same issue and I’m just checking in to see if there is any update?

Hey bradcrumb, i’ll take a look into that ticket for you – in general there isn’t a confirmed issue with the child theme, but it’s possible that something recently with WP has caused it for some setups.

Thank you! I’ve spent a lot of time trying to get this theme working and believe I ruled out many issues. If I get a chance, I’ll try making a new website and installing salient from scratch again but the child theme has not worked for me from day one
I’m just posting here for others who might be dealing with the same thing. They found the issue and helped me out with it. My problem was that all of my theme files were nested within a second folder called “salient”. For some reason, the regular theme worked fine but the solution to getting the child theme working was to move everything within the second nested salient folder into the main one.

i’m still seeing that the data-placeholder attr is using the string “Start Typing…”, which would cause this issue (if the placeholder attr and value were not the same). Can you please look through the .po once more to verify there’s no instance you see of that English string left to translate?

On our website, you will see the main menu as about, turkey, greece, contact. I have a submenu under Turkey. I want only the submenu pages to be opened not the Turkey page. Does this make sense? When we click on Turkey a new page is opened (which is normal) and it is empty. How do i lock access to that page. I want the visitor to click on the submenu.
