Whenever I open the Off-canvas navigation menu, my logo or if I have any extra menus, too – everything moves to the left when this off-canvas menu is opened.
It was doing the same thing to all the content on the page but I managed to fix that. However, I don’t know how can I make it so that it won’t push ANY content to the left when it is open.

I guess that if we fix one of them, because they are part of the same container div, the other one will be fixed, too.
I need it to react like here: http://tech-away.com.au/about-us/ (simple opening of the menu without pushing any content anywhere)

That style of off canvas nav would require custom modding to stop the default behavior of pushing the content when it opens. If you used the alternative style “Slide out from right hover triggered” it would work like that without customization – however, if you want to keep the style you have please see the section commented:
//slide out from right
in the salient/js/init.js file

I see that file and I found the line you are telling me. I would really need it to be clicked in order to be opened. What pieces of code should I comment out or copy from the other “Slide out from right hover triggered” into this one?
Unfortunately this is beyond the scope of what I can/am allowed to provide in theme support. Also, have you purchased the theme on another account? I’m not currently seeing a license attached to this one
Hey! My client has 2 licenses for this theme (I can send them to you) but they don’t have support anymore as they have been bought a good time ago. If I buy a new one, will that guarantee that you can help me with this?
Also, I’m really interested to get this done so if I can get this support in the exchange of buying a new license, I will be happy to do it. I also believe that this information will be valuable for other users of this theme as I’m sure I’m not the only one in the world that would like to see this working the way I mentioned.
If for the “Slide out from right hover triggered” option it doesn’t push the content and for this one it does, I think it would be a really valuable feature to add in the future to both of this sections to have an option you can simply check a box and decide if you want it to impact the content on the page pushing it to the left or not.
But until then, I really need to implement this into my client’s site.

I am using salient on this dev site for my client: http://dev.mihaiapetrei.ro/techaway/about-us/
On all the other pages (except the homepage and the /solutions one) you will see that after you scroll DOWN the page a bit more, getting to around the middle of the page, right in the second you scroll back UP, it will appear the FIXED menu on top. We need to make this fixed menu appear even from when the users is scrolling DOWN – for the moment, it seems this starts to show only when the user is SCROLLING UP or when the user reaches the end of the page. Here is also another example page of how is this currently working on the dev site (http://dev.mihaiapetrei.ro/techaway/about-us/) but it should actually work like here, on the old theme (http://tech-away.com.au/about-us/) having a transparent white look and starting to show up as soon as someone is scrolling down

Hey, there’s probably some duplicate elements in there that Salient already includes so there could be some styling conflicts, but the plugin should work overall

When I use the theme with no header background, the logo and navigation scroll out of the viewport (like this https://goo.gl/zv5aYK). When I define a header background with a height and background color, the logo and navigation persist, (like this http://goo.gl/VYpRdJ) which isn’t the effect I want to achieve. Any thoughts on what’s going on?

Thanks for the reply. I’ve been trying to fix the issue with
header-outer { position: absolute !important; }
but that’s causing titles on other pages to be misaligned. An existing page with the sticky nav not going away is at http://www.jessicapeppler.com/blog.

You have the transparent header option on with the permeneant transparent option also on (which forces a fixed nav to acheive the effect). In the Salient options panel > header navigation > transparency tab, turn off the the option for “Use Transparent Header When Applicable?” or if you’d like to keep that, you can just turn the option for “Header Permanent Transparent” off lower down in that same tab

Hey Marc, that’s the masonry style called “classic enhanced”. You can set it for your blog archives in the Salient options panel > blog tab, or in the blog page builder element directly on a page.

Imagine the menu header bar of a site taking full screen width, where the logo is at the extreme left, and the hamburger menu icon is at the extreme right (typical full screen layout)
Now the QUESTION: Is it possible to display a phone number at the left just right beside the off-canvass navigation hamburger menu icon?

Yes – just set the header option for “Full Width Header” with the “Default Layout” and then add the number as a custom menu link in your appearance > menus section of the admin panel

I need your help again. lol One of my clients just threw a curveball at me. Asking if I could design a landing page for an event this Saturday. The only problem is that I am not finished with the copy on any of their pages. If I don’t get the copy done in time is there a way to only show one landing page of the site and not the rest? I thought a coming soon plugin would work but then i wont be able to use any of the Salient elements.

If you don’t want to use a plugin to restrict access to certain pages, you could simply hide the site navigation on your landing page with the page template “No header” and only provide that URL to the client

Love your ‘Single Large Featured’ styling for the ‘Recent Posts Element’. Especially its parallax styled and meta inlaid display.
BUT, it’d be nice to be able to select the specific post of our choosing. For example, I’ve got some custom posts (from a calendar) that I’d love to showcase on the front page using those styles. I know I could probably have a parallax row with individual images and links to each respective post…BUT, not sure if it’d entirely work the way you guys have it for Recent Posts.
Just a suggestion for a future feature? Since you’re not able to support custom posts, this helps in that sense methinks.

Hide content after time? – I was wondering if you could set something up that acts like a “popup” but is merely just a row of content that hides after a particular set amount of time. Is that possible? Once it goes away, the content just moves upward.

We need multiple portfolio pages with different portfolio items. Is it possible with Salient to have multiple portfolios on your website? On different pages? Can you choose for each page to display portfolio items from all categories, one category, or a custom selection of categories?

I would like to display a text list (on the sidebar) of all the products from the category that is currently being viewed. Here is an example: https://www.sunrisebotanics.com/collections/organic-essential-oils
So basically if someone goes to the “hats” category of my site it will show all the products of that category in the sidebar.
Is this even possible with a plugin of sorts?

You can use the WooCommerce widget “Product categories” for this. Inside the options for it, there’s a checkbox for “Only show children of the current category”

I’m finding my Fontawesome icons are sometimes displaying as rectangular boxes on page load – not sure if it’s theme related or not, but I did find this:

Additional note: this appears to occur more so with Firefox

Can you share your actual URL where I can see the issue occurring? Salient adds the correct classes for font awesome as pointed out in the stackoverflow post, so something else must be going on

Hey, it seems to be a Firefox mobile browser issue – so nothing to do with your theme per say.
If you take a look at your intro demo page (e.g. the call to action button) on Firefox’s iOS browser, you should see what I mean.
It may be a cross-domain issue with Firefox, but hard for me to make heads or tails of the issue, sorry.
