Hi, I’ve been using the7 for a few years without any problem :) However over the last few days, I have an intermittent problem whereby I cant edit the Home Page because none of the Page Builder, VC Add-ons or The 7 Elements load. I just have a Basic WordPress edit page full of code. I’ve done the usual, disabled all plugins and reactivated them one by one and all is fine. The for no reason it all stops working again. :/

Hi. If I wanted to use this theme for my clients’ sites, do you offer a developer licence rather than me have to buy a separate licence every time. Also, I see the them comes with Visual Composer. Will VC continue to work after the support period or will I need to pay yearly to keep VC updated? Thanks.

How do other designers manage multiple licences if they use the7 for all their clients’ sites?
The bulk of our sales are sales to returning customers (big agencies, small studios and individual developers) who understand the immense vale that The7 offers as a package. And, yes, they purchase individual licenses for individual clients.
The7 is Envato exclusive item. We cannot (and currently not planning to) sell it anywhere else. It also comes bundled with Envato exclusive plugins. So if we’d to offer it via any other channel, we would violate both our exclusivity agreement and copyrights of respective plugins authors.
We value our established reputation as a reliable partner for our customers, fellow authors and Envato alike. Therefore, I’m sorry, but we shall not discuss this matter any further.

Hello. I’m using the child theme (the one provided by you) and when I try to make a change at the file “inc/template-hooks.php” and updload it to the folder “dt-the7-child/inc”, I don’t see the changes on the website. Even I tried first to do it on the main theme file, to see it’s the correct file to modify, and recover the changes later. Which can be the reason? Thanks!

Most probably theme took a bit longer to update the database and generate dynamic stylesheets.
Maybe your server resources were not sufficient for the task at that moment (sometimes this can happen on shared and VPS environments). Though we have never encountered such issue report, we recommend you making a full site back-up before performing major updates (it’s true for theme, plugins, and WordPress itself) – just in case.
I just ran the newest theme update to 6.1.0. Afterwards all of my buttons are no longer clickable, the contact forms are no longer usable, and the header lost it’s settings. Please help.
To be more specific. In the WP-Admin, the header settings are still the same and the buttons are the same. The page code has not changed. It is when navigating the website that the header does not show the settings, the menu does not function, the buttons do not function, and the contact form cannot have text entered.

The critical option to show the floating navigation after scrolling a set number of pixels was removed in v.6.1.0. Now when I scroll, the header background image disappears. This is affecting one site I have in development now, but will affect 5 other sites after theme update.

It was taken away only for sticky headers: the header floats all the time and the option is pointless there.
Now when I scroll, the header background image disappears.
Sounds like you either have not updated the database (theme will prompt it immediately after the update) or/and need to clear the browser cache.

Database was updated and cache had been cleared.
I used the wrong terminology in my first post. I had stated “floating navigation” when its the “sticky navigation” scroll option that had been removed. This is a critical setting for many of my sites. I need the background image to not disappear on scroll. Please ask the7 team to reconsider adding this function back.

If I understand correctly, you were adjusting the setting in question to some very high value, so that the background was always visible..
Please try using this bit of custom CSS code instead:

The7 is my favorite theme and this is the first time I’ve run into a theme option being removed that is essential to the way I design sites. Please ask the team to reconsider restoring the setting in the next update.

I have another suggestion re: updates. I use mainwp to do remote updates and I can’t update the premium plugins like VC, layer slider or rev slider remotely. I have to log in and do each one manually. It would be great if you guys could work with these plugin vendors to give us the ability to update remotely.

It’s actually a topic of hot discussions within our team: programmer refuses to implement automatic DB updates because “if something goes wrong we did not give a proper warning so that users could backup”. I’ll forward your feedback to our team nonetheless.
BTW, when you update sites with mainwp which have WooCommerce installed, does it update DB automatically? If so, maybe we can learn from its code..
I don’t use woo but so have a practice site with the woo plugin on it. Mainwp has been dutifully updating it to it’s latest version. I logged in and checked and the db has not been updated. There’s a button asking for the user to initiate the update, just like the7 does.

You’ve mentioned about cloudflare and rocket loader for about 2 years but there hasnt been any indication when this will be fixed. When is this due to be fixed so we can use the rocket loader as it makes a massive difference on loading?

Unfortunately we cannot guarantee stable work of rocket loader mostly because of plugins bundled with the theme.
We will be looking into the issue (again) shortly. But I cannot guarantee anything.

You actually can configure Rocket Loader to work with The7 by excluding couple of .js files. Please get in touch with our support at support.dream-theme.com – they will consult you about it.

A statement on “cURL error 60: SSL certificate problem: certificate has expired” issue.
We’ve done all we could to fix the issue.
Unfortunately we are dependent on DigitalOcean and Serverpilot services.
At this point, resolving the issue is a mater of pressing one button in Serverpilot interface.
But the damn thing is broken!
We are currently awaiting reply from Serverpilot support.
