Hi Salient Team,
First, thank you for outstanding support and always answering our questions.
Second, we’re having some issues with a website. We’ve created separate pages for mobile devices to view media galleries on the website using the basic slider image gallery. There are two problems that present themselves:
1. When you click to open prettyphoto, the picture populates in a light box (like it’s supposed to), but drops to the bottom of the phone screen. You can scroll to move the picture up, but it’s an inconvenience we’d like to avoid.
2. When a visitor scrolls through the gallery, some pictures say that they cannot be found. Though, if we go into the visual composer to edit the gallery, the picture populates just fine in the back-end. We check the image numbers and links to make they are correct and still get the issue on mobile devices.
Hopefully there’s a resolution.

I would like to suggest 2 things for your future updates.
1. That blog has that A+ A- and Reset buttons, which I think is great for usability and accessibility. I think having this on Salient would be a great idea, please not many blogs/websites have this. So it will be something unique to have.
2. I love the footer of that site, it is very organized and advanced. Salient has a great footer design too but its similar to all other WordPress sites. I think paying extra attention to the footer, to make it unique would be great.
3. Also, it would be great to see more blog header styles. This time focused more on SEO and usability. Not looks or design. 
Thank you for making such a great theme. Keep on doing the great work.

Thanks for the requests! In regards to the first item you brought up – for now you could probably use a plugin for this. e.g. https://wordpress.org/plugins/zeno-font-resizer/
The new feature update is scheduled for sometime this month, however a bugfix related update will be out before then

Would it be possible to use the material theme but with the more traditional ascend style off canvas nav?

The only off canvas nav style that is changed for the Material theme is the “Slide out from right” style – all the other options should behave the same as Ascend

Hi, I left a ticket back in November about how modifying ANY element on a regular page in Salient Visual Composer (even if its just a text box) jumps me to the bottom of the page in admin. Its really annoying when I have to add/change/delete/move or do pretty much anything in the pages. The only reply I got from your team was:
Another user also reported this . Have noted to have the Developer look into this for the upcoming update.
So… has there been an update? I don’t see any one else complaining – do I need to update the theme somewhere? I love your theme, but this is really time consuming to get anything done.
I’ve tried responding to the same ticket and it’s been removed.

You need to be using the current version of the theme (8.5.3) and the Salient VC (5.2.4) in order to ensure WP 4.9 compatibility. Are you on both of those versions?

Hi, Love the theme.
But here’s a real NASTY bug, that’s present for at least a few years.. I keep waiting for someone else to report it, or for you guys to notice it yourself and fix it, but apparently I have to be the one to do the reporting..
So here goes – LOGO – in the HEADER – has two versions – light and dark. This DOES NOT WORK the way it should.
https://dominante.co/impressence/ this one on the other hand – has the logo WHITE on white, so – invisible, even thou, you can see the rest of the menu is black, and text is blac as well *(so the row is set up to display blac text, and the logo should be black too)
So to recap – those pages that have fullscreen rows enabled – display the logo colour correctly *(another example is https://dominante.co/kontakt/ where fullscreen is on but text is white – and logo is white too, so correct) :: But all all the regular pages display the logo WHITE anyway – ALWAYS.
As you can see this is quite a big problem, even thou it’s a simple bug to fix. I am really puzzled this bug lasted this long, since pretty much else is pixel-perfect

The page fullscreen rows & nectar slider can make use of the dark logo but a regular transparent header on a page currently has no option to force the dark logo – it’s an item that will end up becomming an option in the next release

Hello, I believe the newest update of WooCommerce messed things up on my clients eCommerce website. Here is the URL: https://bsb.boutique/ If you hover over the images you will see the 2nd image appear overlapping the 1st image. The image sizing seems off with the images as well as the individual product pages. I am running 8.5.3 beta on the website, please let me know if you need anything else. Thanks! Adam

I contantly get errors when publishing posts. This has been an ongoing problem…
Error: Facebook Open Graph Tags cache NOT updated/purged. Facebook returned: Invalid parameter
This is NOT a plugin error. - Do not open support tickets about this issue. – Lately and unfortunately, Facebook is not allowing to update the cache programmatically. - Have you already configured the App ID and App Secret, needed for flushing the cache on Facebook? If you haven’t, go to the settings page (Open Graph tab), and do it now. or - Click here to try to clear the cache manually and then click “Scrape Again”

Hey Nectar! How do I change the footer for mobile but keep it for desktop?
For example, http://www.kwgutshallandassociates.com/ on this site, I have a footer that needs to have a lengthy description but looks terrible on mobile and not the best on desktop.
What can I do with this?

I would reccomend adding an additional widget with a condensed mobile friendly version (perhaps just a sentence with a link to the full text?) and then give them CSS classes to target and show/hide them on each viewport:

I’m using the “Left Header menu” on my client website, and we have a little problem with the menu items and the carousel module.
1 – When I put a sub-menu item, the first item only expands and don’t go to the page.
2 – Is possible to add some arrows on the carousel navigation?
How can I make this work? Any suggestion is welcome.

1. This is by design, the top level items on a left header nav setup act as the title for the below menu items. I’ve noted your idea to add an option to sepatate this
2. Yes, select “CarouFredSel” for the carousel script

it would require some modding to the js/init.js file in order to have it triggered from the header nav. By default it’s only selecting links in the main content area

Hello! Having a little issue with firefox not respecting any column padding. Is there any fix for this? I believe this is because column padding is set as percentages, and Firefox is looking for a pixel value.

Is there any way to send a temporary fix until that beta is released? I believe the issue is here.
The responsive.css page at line 4615 has this code: .wpb_row .span_12 > .col.padding-7-percent[data-padding-pos=”all”], .column-inner.padding-7-percent[data-padding-pos=”all”] { /*! padding: 14%!important; */ }
Because of a Firefox bug that doesn’t recognize percentage padding, the top and bottom padding of a few elements disappears when the viewport goes below 1000px.
Is there a CSS snippet I can add to resolve this?

Hey! Could you kindly verify in the meantime that you’re on 8.5.3 of Salient and 5.2.4 of the Salient VC? It turns out that there may have already been an unintentional fix for this included before I realized it was an issue in older versions

I allready edited this to show the expert of the post also. But in de list of featured post, I also want to show in with categorie it’s posted. So like this:

Inside of the js/init.js file, search for the “multipleLargeFeaturedInit” function – within that you’ll find some logic that creates the controls by copying the post title – you’d need to alter that to also get grabbing the post cat and inserting it

The word is expanding past the width of the container due to size set in the custom heading element. That specific VC element overrides any responsive text sizing and keeps it always set at the fixed px value you define. The solution would be to replace the custom heading element for “Web design” with a regular text block and set it to an h1 inside there.
