Hi,

It actually is a LOT of extra code to add a fully responsive menu option to the header builder. Because customers will want to choose between different styles for the menu itself and the mobile version.

I could add a “simple” option to the current “navbar” module but it’s just added bloat since the intention of that mobile is for static style links.

I am working on a new “Advanced Menu” module though for the page builder that will be built-in most likely it will be ready in the next update (4.7).

If you have any suggestions for the module let me know. The way it will work by default is you will choose between 4 styles (horizontal, vertical, full-screen or off-canvas). For mobile the horizontal and vertical options will automatically convert into a “toggle” style mobile menu. But if you wanted you could use the visibility settings to hide a horizontal menu on mobile and display a full-screen menu on mobile if you wanted. This will give customers more flexibility.

And this module will load it’s own custom CSS and Js files depending on your specific choices so it won’t be added additional bloat to the theme itself

Since it’s happening on 2 sites, if these are both on the same server it may be worth looking as well to see if anything changed recently on the server (did you switch to https, did you tweak your .htacess file, did you install any security plugins…etc). It removes the extra code when using full-sized or non theme cropped images (like woocommerce). For example: https://cl.ly/prcK

This WP function basically adds code that tells the browser to display alternative images based on your screen-size but this can cause issues if you want to always display your images exactly the same and it can conflict with other plugins. In my opinion this function is only good for traditional blogs, but even still it’s not really needed and can cause images to “lose” quality unless you have setup a bunch of custom cropping sizes for all your images to target different mobile devices.

Thanks for the heads up. I see what you mean if you disable everything except the image in the blog grid if you have posts without images it causes some issues.

I will update the Blog grid module to have the same option for the next version. This is the best way, I could add a bunch of code to the module to check a bunch of things before looping through each item but it’s way more bloat then having a simple option to query posts with images only.

Were you having this issue before? If not, have you installed any plugins recently? I can’t recreate this issue myself.

I did have another customer though mention that on their site if they enabled this option under screen options – https://cl.ly/prtL – they were having the issue with p tags, but I personally can’t recreate the problem at all.

Are you using the page builder for your actual quizzes? I can’t tell from the screenshot if the shortcodes displayed are on the page where you are adding the shortcode or coming from the shortcode itself.

Definitely something to ask the plugin devs about, but of course I can work with them if needed to get this issue resolved.

I’m building the actual lesson content with the page builder. That works fine. It’s only when I insert the Learndash shortcode for the quiz that the VC tags appear.

It’s not a deal breaker and I have posted the problem in the Laerndash support forum, so I might see what turns up there.

This site is outdated. A few versions ago the mobile dropdowns worked by clicking just the arrow, but a lot of customers were complaining and/or requesting that the theme be updated so you could click on the whole link and not just the arrow since most sites work that way, hence the update.

hi sorry me again. On the prebuilt media/post grids that come with the theme there is option of equal height posts. With the visual composer posts grid this option seems to be missing even though they have it on other elements, do you know how i can add this to the posts as looks messy?

Sorry for the delayed reply, I wasn’t able to get on support yesterday. I’m glad it’s working now, yay!

To use custom excerpts make sure to select the Total excerpt module when using the grid builder – https://cl.ly/pry5 – this module will allow you to select a custom length for your excerpts.

However, I personally recommend writing custom excerpts for your posts using the WordPress excerpt field when you are editing your posts, this way you prevent duplicate content issues on the site and it’s better for SEO. Also showing the first few sentences of a post hardly ever makes sense so it’s good for usability as well.

The equal heights isn’t available for the posts/media grids in the page builder as it can cause some complications due to how these load/render.

What you can do though is add a little custom CSS to your site to give your entries a “min-height’ value. I can help with the CSS if you want. But also if you use the Post Masonry Grid, they will look good even if the entries are different lengths. Example of a masonry grid – http://totaltheme.wpengine.com/mason/ (this isn’t using the Post Grid module but if you aren’t sure what I mean by masonry – where items stack wherever there is space).

The default page builder excerpt module uses the core WordPress excerpt function whereas the one in the Total theme uses it’s own code to generate custom excerpts.

I don’t know why, but when I use the current visual composer “Video Player” widget, it doesn’t support the embed link or the no-cookie domain.

Oh I see what you mean..So the Video Player widget actually uses the core WordPress “oembed” function which by default only supports specific domains – https://codex.wordpress.org/Embeds

And an embed URL won’t technically work there, but you can just use the RAW HTML module and insert your full embed code.

In order to add support in WordPress for the no-cookie domain requires some custom code added to your child theme via this function – https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_oembed_add_provider – there are probably plugins though you can use for that. But depending what you want to do simply using the full embed code could work.

Also you could use Video Lightbox instead via the Total Image Module – https://cl.ly/q7Kt – this way the video won’t load until you click on the image. And for this module you can enter an embed URL.

The way the support license works on ThemeForest is you get 6 months (unless you extend it to 12 months) with your initial purchase. If you have multiple license of the theme, it’s based on the most recently purchased license. So for example if you buy a new license today it will extend support for ALL your licenses 6 months or if you don’t need any more licenses if you extend support for the theme – https://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs/renew-support-license/ – again it renews for all the items.

The theme will be supported and updated for as long as possible. This is one of my main sources of income so I put a lot of work into updates/support and a ton of money into marketing to keep the theme going. As long as customers are buying the theme and renewing their support license then my business will be profitable and I can keep the theme going.

Now, support license is not for updates. Updates are always included. The license is mostly for submitting private tickets since it’s expensive to hire a support staff and I need a way to balance things out so I’m not just loosing money helping people for free. I always provide free support here in the comments, but of course it still takes time and resources so I do kindly request that customers keep an active support license if they are using the theme and more importantly asking questions.
