Hey guys! Awesome theme. But ive got some questions. In “Salient” – “Typography” – “Nectar Specific Elements” i did not find how to change font-size and line height in Single Testimonial.. Adding a code in “Salient” – “General Setting” – “CSS/Script related” a line:

.nectar_single_testimonial[data-style=”bold”] p {font-size: 20px; line-height: 26px;}

and its not work. Please help :) Thank you for a great job with your awesome theme!

Thanks esqu1red!

Depending on the style you’ve selected for the testimonial, it will either be altered from the Nectar specific elements > “Testimonial Slider/Blockquote Font” field or the General HTML elements > h2 field

Cheers

Hey! Thank you! I found it! :}

You’re welcome esqu1red :)

Hi guys, just a presale question. Do you have a preferred translation plugin or something the like that you know is used commonly with your theme?

Hey thethirdmanhk,

loco translate and WPML have both been tested :)

Cheers

I am using “External Project URL” Is it possible to completely disable the Portfolio Item’s default webpage?

Hey loneprairiecamp,

When using the external URL, the project should be removed from any project navigation – however if you don’t want the page to exist at all, you’d have to use a hook to redirect out of it

Cheers

I have a client that would like to build a site with e-commerce. It’s been recommended to me that I should use “WooCommerce”. I’ve never used it, before. I’d like to understand the level of effort to integrate WooCommerce with Salient.

In the mean-time, I found this and will be looking through it.

Hey rouge1,

Salient offers custom WooCommerce integration & styling – I can’t say definitely how long it would take someone to learn to use the third party plugin who has not before, but overall it’s very intuitive and user friendly in my opinion: https://docs.woocommerce.com/documentation/plugins/woocommerce/getting-started/

Cheers

Thank you! I appreciate it.

You’re welcome rouge1 :)

Hello! I made the decision to purchase your theme. So far it’s pretty easy to use and great. The transparent header and disabling sticky header was a bit confusing because of the scattered options in multiple tabs in settings and on page editor (force transparent header).

My concern right now is PAGE SPEED. Regardless of hosting, caching plugins, etc., there is nothing on the page except for a CF7 contact form. I only have 2 plugins installed: CF7 and International Telephone Input for CF7.

From GTMetrix: Default WP theme 2016 is at 1.3s vs Salient it is at 2.6s!

(Salient issues): - Leverage Browser Caching (CSS Fonts Open Sans)

- Leverage Browser Caching (/nectar/assets/functions/ajax-search/wpss-search-suggest.js) I have search disabled in header settings

- Minify JS (very large amount of percentage from Salient theme)

Is it possible to have page speed issues resolved in next update (mainly JS/CSS/HTML compression, deferring and minimizing)? Thanks, I’m really enjoying the simplicity of the theme so far!

Hey shipwreckgeorge!

Have you taken a look at the documentation yet in regards here: http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/performance-optimization-guide/?

https://gtmetrix.com/reports/themenectar.com/tVhmebNQ https://gtmetrix.com/reports/themenectar.com/OHPikntD

Please share your actual URL so I can take a look and see why your site it loading a script for an option you have turned off – we don’t ship the theme assets pre-minified since there’s many free plugins out there to handle this and by doing so we’d prevent users from being able to easily edit the theme if desired

Hi. Pre-purchase question: In your demo the testimonials and post grid are to wide and big, is there a way to control the height, padding, width and font size? Thanks.

Hey gutie,

the testimonial and blog elements are given different settings on most demos, can you let me know which demo you’re referring to?

In general, you do indeed have control over the typography and you could alter the width by changing the column the elements are contained in.

Cheers

Hi Salient Team. I am talking about this two demos: http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-corporate/ and http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-startup/ specially the first one. It looks huge in a 13” Macbook, from top to bottom.

Hey gutie,

Yes, you can control the typography over that element – there’s also many other testiomonial styles: http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-promo/testimonial-slider/

Is it possible to lower the headline text in Nectar slider as top center and bottom does not lower it enough, had this problem for ages and now need it moved as owner is moaning thanks needs to drop about 40px Thanks

Hey chris6001,

Please share your URL in regards so I can check out the slider instance to assist

Cheers

Thanks https/crops.uk.com

Hey chris6001,

add this into the custom css box in your Salient options panel:

@media only screen and (min-width: 1000px) {

body .swiper-slide .content {
    top: auto!important;
    bottom: 50px;
}
body .swiper-slide .container {
    position: static;
}

}

Cheers

Wish List: add an option for a “Read More” button on every type of blog element.

You guys are the best! Keep up the awesome work!

Hey harrisdesigned, thanks for the request! :)

Hello,

Is there a way in which i can set a default Page Header image for my blogs? without one its very bland at the top, also without physically adding one there is no section at the top into which i can apply custom css to add one in.

I.E without setting a header image the outputted HTML is different.

thanks,

Ben

Hey Ben,

As of now this would require a mod – you could copy the whole nectar_page_header function (from the functions.php) into a child theme functions.php in order to customize what displays by default

Cheers

Hi there,

I’ve searched through the comments, but couldn’t find the answer. Is there a way to have all of the toggles be open by default? (probably have to edit something in init.js) and do I need to check or uncheck “allow collapsible all”?

I’m using the minimal layout btw… Thanks in advance

Hey gtupanno,

One way to accomplish it without file modding would be to create multiple toggle panel elements each with only one section inside

Cheers

ahhh thanks :) simple yet effective!

You’re welcome gtupanno :)

Hi there.

I see in your demo an option for Mixed Content Masonry (see http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-agency/full-width-masonry/). I am a little confused. I would expect to be able to use various type of content (Mixed Content), however on top there is a filter which is usually being used for portfolio.

What we want to create is a grid that looks like the Mixed Content Masonry for the use of ie. text, image, blog post, portfolio, etc., all mixed. Is this where this option is used for? is it also possible to have a spacing between the various elements?

Thanks for your reply, Monique

Hey Monique,

That page is indeed using a portfolio element, the elements that are displaying custom content instead of projects have the option for “Custom Content Grid Item” in their project settings. Also, when adding a portfolio element to your page and using the “fullwidth” or “fullwidth constrained” layout, there’s an option for “Item Spacing”. Currently there’s no option to make a masonry grid of mixed post types. Cheers

Thanks for your quick and clear reply. Have a nice day!

you’re welcome Monique :)

Hi Salient team,

How do i create the page header from the DEMO salient-frostwave (http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-frostwave/) where it is sort of like a carousel with multiple images?

Can’t figure it out! :(

Hey simonvdh,

That’s a nectar slider element set to display full width: http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/sliders/#nectar-slider

Cheers

Dear all,

I’d like to have a magnifying effect on some specific images. What is the best way to do that ? Add a css class to the image ?

Many thanks for your answer. Arthur

Hey Arthur,

Using the fancy box would yield this effect, or if you just need the image(s) to have the effect without much overlaid content you could image gallery element set to the image grid style

Cheers

Hello, Many thanks for your answer. i’m not sure that the effect I want was understood. i’d like to magnify some picture, just like on your demo (http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-frostwave/product/happy-ninja/) for the tshirt. This is built in in Woocommerce but I’d like to know how to reproduce this effect for any image. If it can be achieve with the fancy box, could you precise your answer because at the moment, I just can have a zoom effect, not what I’m looking for. Many thanks in advance ! Arthur

Hey Arthur,

Unfortunately that feature is contained to WooCommerce and would require custom modding to bring it outside – there might be a free WP plugin to create this effect though.

Cheers

Hi Salient Team,

first of all – Your Theme is awesome and you do a great job! I use your theme for a while now and I have some questions for further versions of salient.

In one of your last updates you integrated new Icon Sets but these Sets are not very usefull because there’s a leck of variety. So if I need Icons for different categories in the same style it’s getting quite difficult. Also the Icons have a quite long loading time. – I worked a lot with the “Nucleo” Icon Set and it’s really awesome in variety and speed. Is there a way to import these Icon Sets to use them in salient like the other Icons so I can select them in “Icon List” or “Flip Box”? That would be really great! I saw working in an older theme from Swift Ideas (Uplift) – Maybe it’s worth to check it out. I think Salient would benefit from it.

Another thing what i miss in Salient is the possibility to manage my navigation. In other themes I have the opportunity to say that special pages are only can be seen by logged in users.

Even greater would be the possibility to have the option to put Icons an Background pictures in the Mega Menu or even little widgets like the latest blog post.

Maybe there are some Ideas which you would consider to implement in the next big 9.0 Salient Update. If something of it is already possible, please let me know.

Best regards Hendrik

Hey Hendrik, thanks for the requests – they’ve been noted for the wishlist :)

Cheers

How can we re-create the Contact Page exactly like you have it on the Corporate2 version of the theme? Wherein the Contact7 form sits upon a fancy pop-up that overlaps the Google maps. It’s beautiful, but unfortunately it doesn’t appear like this with the out-of-the-box demo pages. Thanks!

Ref: http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-corporate-2/corporate-2-contact-us/

Hey dougystyle, it appears you’ve altered the settings on the elements imported by default on the demo – have you simply tried to import that section from the Salient studio? The template is called “info/contact box overlapping map”: http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/salient-studio/

I have been using the Salient theme for years now and had no idea about “Salient Studio” until now. OMG!, mind blown. Amazing feature. So glad you told me about it. My problem is already solved. Advertise this feature more – it’s really a game changer. Thanks again!

Hey dougystyle, glad to have helped and glad you’re digging the studio :)

Cheers

Hello, please can you help me with this? I need to remove or hide categories and rename “read article”. Everything is on screenshot. https://imgur.com/q6tppOu Could you help me please?

Hey republic_51,

In Loco Translate > Themes > Salient > Advanced you can set the path to the .pot file. For the Template file field use “lang/nectar_salient_strings.pot” – you can then generate a new .po based on the translations you do

Cheers

thank you and god bless you :)

You’re very welcome republic_51 :)

hello :) where do you change the font for the posts titles listed in a sidebar? http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-corporate-2/deep-down-in-the-water/

Oh I found it! sorry :)

Oh I found it! sorry :)

Hey LaureneCastor, I’m glad to hear you’ve found what you were looking for :)

The sf-sub-indicator disappeared from my site. It was there and now it’s gone. glu.sethsanders.com. Both on full screen and mobile versions.

Hey nerdseth, it appears to be a conflict with the toolset plugin you have active – to fix it add this into the custom css box:

.sf-sub-indicator i {
    font-family: 'Fontawesome';
}
body .icon-angle-down:before {
    content: '\f107'!important;
}

Hey there, i am having trouble getting a video background to play on mobile. Could you please help?

Hey sammdesigns, the self hosted video row backgrounds are swapped for a static images on mobile devices. This is because up until iOS10, video BGs were intentionally disabled by mobile browsers to prevent unauthorized data usage. Because an autoplaying video BG still won’t work on any phones running an earlier version of iOS – we’ve been waiting to implement a solution that will work consistently across phones, old and new.

Hi there! Just activated Salinet (8.5.4) in WordPress. But I am getting following error (in browser console) while opening homepage: Uncaught TypeError: $(...).flickity is not a function (init.js?ver=8.5.4:10702). And thanks to that all I am seeing is a rotating spinner. Any pointers?

Hey rohitkhtr, since this is not a known issue could you please share the URL in regards so I can see why that script is not getting included on your setup?

Cheers

Hi team@ThemeNectar. We changed the homepage to use ‘Blog Dark Landing’ and it is working fine. I guess, there was some problem with the previous demo (can’t remember its name). Thanks for responding back! :grin:

Hey rohitkhtr,

That’s strange – let me know if you encounter it again :)

Cheers
