I was wondering if there are any tips and tricks you can give in speeding up a website as I have got the7 running on a page and it is getting a really slow score on speed checkers.

Hi,
Server responce is very slow. Looks like you are not running any caching plugins.

We recommend installing WP Supercache (or other similar plugin) and enabling page caching. This will increase your site performance significantly.

Then you can use free cloudflare plan to speed things up even more. Just don’t enable the rocket loader because it will mess up JavaScript.

Theme Options > Advanced in the “Advanced Settings” tab you will find the “Normalize scroll on mobile devices” setting. Disable it and LS will work as usual. BUT we recommend considering switching over to Slider Revolution..

Ok I am new to this theme or platform but customizing a built in website should not have been that tough. I installed the theme yesterday and activated “Coming Soon 01” demo site. The simple task of changing the text on that demo site is impossible. There is no documentation, I do not know what those different types of Page Builders are as they do not do anything but let you change CSS and JavaScript. I opened two tickets for two issues and still awaiting response. Started to think if I just wasted my money on something that isn’t for me?

I have opened a ticket there. Hopefully it will get their attention soon. I tried to configure it using Slider Revolution but could not find anything beyond the background images on that. Keeping fingers crossed.

I figured out the issue. The “Global Setting” option seems to be selected when you open the slider but it is not. You have to click it once more to actually open the global settings and text etc. Once you do that then it is all configurable, at least it seems so.

Hey guys, I’ve been using the7 theme and visual composer for years now, I just recently purchased it again in confidence knowing how well it works for me on my site and assumed it would for my new client ‘encase-ltd.com’, unfortunately a recent update is causing visual composer (WPbakery) to resize images ‘distorting them’ and forcing them to be center justified without going ‘full width’, I can upload an image ‘3840×800’ and set the row to ‘stretch row and content with no padding’ and it will ignore this setting keeping it center justified, I have put in a support ticket giving very detailed indicators to the problem but the developer is taking to long to reply ‘18 hours and waiting’

Here is a video of the problem, I duplicate the process using the visual composer on my site ‘nxvisualstudio.com’ and the visual composer on the clients site’encase-ltd.com’, the most recent version of visual composer on encase-ltd.com refuses to go full width with images on this theme; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLrIY0W75Oc

I have a time limit to get the site working, as this is classed as broken I would like to put in for a refund, I won’t put up a bad review either as you guys have been flawless for me on my own site for years but it’s only now I’m getting these issues on the new version of the theme.

The support portal is a massive drag which is why I’m posting here, But thank you for being awesome for me on my own site!

Well, I did say I’d report back, unfortunately I have more bad news..extremely bad, I left it in the hands of your site dev.. so I went off to make some tea, as you do being British, I came back to the office while partially taking a sip and projectile the remaining tea content onto my lovely Dell monitor, the site was working! Safeer found the issue sharpish!

So Jetpack is one to log in the future.

Does a new monitor come under the support? ;)

Not sure if it is me going totally mad but have you removed Them Options from the menu? I have just done a fresh install on a new site and installed a the7 template but I am not seeing Theme Options anywhere to make any changes?

We’re talking about options in the left panel – NOT in the top bar, right? You can enable/disable them in WP-admin > The7 > My The7, in “Settings” block.

Why is this theme slow in the backend? Since when I bought, last year, until today (even after several updates) this theme remains the same. Very slow at the backend. It gets annoying. I tried several times to solve the problem with the support but they always blamed me. That would be problem in my computer, browser or on the internet that I use. Being that I did the internet on 3 internet providers, several computers (Linux, IOS and Windows), all browsers and the problem persists. The support time has expired and my issue has not been fixed!

Several times. However, I always had the same result: The problem was in my computer, my internet and / or my browser. And it was for that. I really like that theme. But this problem makes me very sad, unmotivated to deal with it.

What happens when you keep all the plugins active BUT switch over to a default theme?

(According to our experience, excessive use of plugins is usually to blame for back-end sluggishness.)

With other themes everything works normal. I have already tested with The7 leaving only Visual Composer enabled and still slow.

Changelog: Please ensure in your processes you upload changelog the same day you update the theme. Getting a theme update and then up to 5 days later getting what has actually changed is frustrating for purchasers of your themes.

Hi, we have quite a few themes with you and all the updates went well except for one. We tried to update from Version 6.1.0 to Version 6.2.1 and we got the following error: “An error occurred while updating The7: download failed. Forbidden” Could you please help us with that? Thank you!
