Hi there,
I’ve launched a new installation on a localhost test server to create a better version of my website.
I’ve installed everything as I usually would – and imported a demo version of the App template (the one with the colourful pages). I go to edit the App Home Page and Visual Composer’s Page Builder doesn’t seem to be working. It is not displaying any of the elements. When I add a new element (row, button, etc), nothing shows up, but when I preview the page the elements are being added.
Do you know why this might be the case, and suggest where to look to fix the issue?

First verify you’re not using PHP 7.2 – the current VC doesn’t support that version but the update we’re releasing soon will add support. If that’s not what’s causing the issue, can you check the browser console to see if there’s any errors reported when you’re using the page builder?

Can you please remove the value you’ve set for the autorotate and temporarily disable your minifcation so I can troubleshoot this?

Hi, strange issue with my Fancy Unordered List. There is a red line underneath the entire list which I’m not sure where it’s coming from. Also the bullets are below the line which looks funny, this happens with both icons and just the line.

Are you just trying to reduce the space between the header and the first section after scrolling past the header (the row with “What they’ve said about me..etc”)? If so, add this into the custom css box in your Salient options panel:

I am using the centered menu. I only have one menu button, the rest i will leave in the side hamburger menu. I want the menu items to float right, next to hamburger icon. How can I do this. I have gotten close but, not yet….

When you have the centered menu layout active, in the Appearance > menus section of your admin panel there should be a menu location for “Top navigation menu pull right” which you can use for this

Hey, you have to be using either the “Centered Menu” or “Menu Left Aligned” header layout – any other layouts won’t activate the pull right menu location: http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/pull-right-nav-items/

I use the Fancy Box with the ’’Color Box Hover Effect’’ style. Currently, my text is white, which is fine, but stays white on hover. I would like the text to be dark grey (#282828) on hover, can you please provide a custom css to do so?

The new release of Salient 8.5.4 is not compatible with the new release of WooCommerce 3.3.3… you need version 3.3.1, which is impossible to find on their website or on WordPress.org since they (automatic) don’t maintain a release archive of WooCommerce there.. Hey wallyd, as I mentioned yesterday I would need more information or view a URL in regards so I can help troubleshoot what’s going on with the setup. Salient has been tested with the latest WooCommerce and there’s currently no known issues besides the single template (product-image.php) file being a version behind. When you updated, did you ensure the old version of the theme was removed before the new was uploaded? If there’s old template files lingering around that could also cause issues

I’ve been asked to do some work on a site that was done with Salient a few years ago and not been updated since, and the page builder isn’t working (it doesn’t display existing content in the editor, although I can see the shortcodes in classic mode, and I cannot add new content). Will buying the theme fix this problem? Thanks

In order to use Salient with the current WP version you need to be using a minimum of v5.2.1+ of the page builder, if you already own a licensee for the theme simply redownload the theme from ThemeForest to get access to the plugin update

Is there a simple code I can use to remove the WooCommerce featured image from a certain product page and make the text across the entire single product page. Building a custom configuration for a suit and there are a lot of options and would like to remove the main product image and make these choices full width if possible. Sorry to be a pain about this, what would be the code to remove the featured image and basically have a product full screen? For an example, I am using the WooCommerce Booking plugin for a client, and the featured image is taking up 1/2 of the page, I would just really like to show the full calendar view of that page if possible. This would also be “per-product” so it wouldn’t be applied globally.

When viewing the portfolio on mobile, the portfolio items are coloured in their accent colour all the time not just on click or hover link on desktop. Is there a way to prevent this?

Hey jackcweston, it seems to be working now on my end – are you seeing the same? If so, it might have been the value you set in for the autorotate field. Can you try adding something longer that would work such as “4000” for 4 seconds

I would like to use paypal by braintree (https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-gateway-paypal-powered-by-braintree/) but unfortunately there is a conflict with the latest version of this theme. When I try to use the payment I get the error:
Oops, there was a temporary payment error. Please try another payment method or contact us to complete your transaction.
Same problems as described here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/braintree-credit-card-payment-failed-status-code-92202/
The issue is customisation of the checkout page. I switched to another theme and it worked, confirming the conflict with Salient.
Can you please look into this and release a fix?

In Loco Translate > Themes > Salient > Advanced you can set the path to the .pot file. For the Template file field use “lang/nectar_salient_strings.pot” – you can then generate a new .po based on the translations you do
