Thank you for reaching us. There are no recommended size for products. You can use any size that you wish. Please note that depending on number of columns and the layout, there is a maximum width available for image. The theme will fit the size you chose into that width and an auto height.

The dimensions of the images to be used in loop and single product pages are set in WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Display > Image Sizes ( since WooCommerce 3.3.0 from Appearance > Customize > WooCommerce ). You can set it to any desirable image size dimension. However the image will occupy the maximum width available in a given layout. You can read more about it here : https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/fixing-blurry-product-images/#section-1

Please note that once you’ve set the image sizes, it will apply only to new images. You need to use a plugin like Regenerate Thumbnails to apply your new image sizes to the images that you’ve already uploaded.
