Hi, I have a problem about upload images. While i add new images on pages, system connection is down, back up on browser and gives several minutes to turn back. Like service unavaible and like that something. It seems hosting problem but not, because i tested with other themes. Can you help about this problem ? thanks.

Is it possible to have only the off canvas menu without the top menu?

yes – you can enable the off canvas navigation in the Salient options panel > header navigation > off canvas navigation and then simply not assign a menu to the “top navigation menu” location. However if you’re trying to remove the logo it would also require a line of css. add this into the custom css box in your Salient options panel:
body #header-outer #logo { display: none; }

Hi guys, i just wanted to check up on the Frontend setting. Now i have gone through all the comments and the first request for this feature was over 3 years ago. Now im not a coder but in three years would it have not been possible to have this feature enabled? At least have some kind of option to turn it on in the backend.
With Ultimate addons and super doooper addons and absolutely fantastic super dooper addons for WPBakery VC it becomes nearly impossible to actually work in the backend as EVERY time we update the page we have to reload the page with the plugins and extensions etc.
Please consider having a sitdown with your team and implementing this feature again. Surely its time. Put a little disclaimer saying that there will beissues on the frontend if you use the feature…..At least give us the option seeing as all the other themes now using the latest VC plugin can edit from the frontend.

You can use the carousel element instead of the clients element with the “owl carousel” script. This will give you access to column settings for every viewport. You can then populate your carousel with individual image elements which will act as the clients

Sorry I realize now that my comment wasn’t very clear. I actually used this solution to fix an issue I was having with the portfolio “recent projects” carousel. I only want it to show as one column but at certain resolutions it kept switching to 2 columns. Is there any solution for doing this but not having to change the core theme js file? Or is there a way I can have that js file loading from my child theme? I tried putting it in a “js” folder but it didn’t work.

I’m testing a website at https://www.stickypresentations.com and noticed that iconsmind.ttf requires quite some resources. I use Imagify to shrink my images, because I always thought that images use up most resources when loading a page. Not true … I see on Pingdom that the images on my homepage only require 19% of the loading time, while CSS uses 14%, scripts 18% and other content types use 48% !!!

Right now I’m using 3 icons on my homepage but I’m willing to remove them and use small images instead to reduce the loading time of my homepage significantly.
Can you tell me how I can prevent any icon scripts from loading while using the Salient theme? My client is really focused on speed rather than anything else.

Hey Marc,
That icon library only gets loaded when an icon from the iconsmind library is used. Remove those three you’re using and select some from the icon element within the page builder – You can use FontAwesome without loading anything additional

Removing the 3 Icomoon icons and switching to FontAwesome or Linea indeed dropped my homepage load with over 400kb. Great solution !
As you can also see on my screenshot for the Lato font there’s 4 times a .woff file loaded. This means: 4 * 27kb = 100kb+. Why is that? Can’t this be more compact?

A different one gets loaded for each weight set of that font in the Salient options > typography. If you’re only using one weight, go through all the fields and ensure different weights are not set

We are having problems with the responsive options on columns when using full screen rows.
We tried it on our site and set it up like this: We setup 5 Rows Rows 1 and 5 are set to display on Desktop only Rows 2,3 and 4 are set to display on Mobile only When we are on Row 1, we have to scroll down 3 times to get to row 5, and it sort of jumps between rows 1 and 5 if that makes sense.
We then setup the theme on a test domain and did the following: Rows 1 and 5 are set to display on Desktop only Rows 2,3 and 4 are set to display on Mobile only When we are on Row 1, we can scroll down past each row, but rows 2, 3 and 4 are blank/empty on the front end, but we still have to scroll past them as if they are actually there.
Can you let us know what could be going wrong please.

You should be able to use the responsive options tab on columns when using the page fullscreen rows option, however you can’t hide actual parent rows in that setup since they’re used on page load to generate the slides. Can you share the URL in regards so I can take a look at your settings?

Still having problems unfortunately. I gerrymandered the full height of those layers by adding column padding, extra text, and using the full screen row overflow option to hide additional content.
Once I removed the extra text, various padding(s), it seems to work fine, but as soon as we duplicate the inner rows, and put in the responsive options, It all goes Pete Tong again.

Following on from that Bat call, I suppose the best way to describe it is that we need to use a combination of full screen rows + responsive options + inner rows. I updated that link with how it looks now.
Hi, I have been pulling my hair out trying to get my newsletter subscription form to style correctly but can’t get it to work. My MailerLite account lets me create a form and generates the JS or HTML for me but both don’t render properly in Salient theme, although they render perfectly fine in all browsers outside of Salient (using raw HTML). I even tried the MailerLite plugin and shortcode using VC Text Block element but that gave me the same exact results. I think it might be some CSS conflict or styling issue with Salient but I’m not a coder so I could really use some help.
Note: when I click inside the email form, the orange and white bar on the bottom move like a hover effect. Not sure where it’s getting that from.

Hi, we’ve found a weird bug. On a page we are using the ‘portfolio’ content element to display a portfolio of work.
Portfolio element settings: 3 col layout, all categories, style is meta below thumb with links on hover. We also have sortable enabled, horizontal filers enabled & pagination enabled as infinite scroll.
When you visit the frontend page > hover over a thumbnail the ‘read more’ button shows which is perfect. But, if you then go ahead and click on any filter item the ‘read more’ button no longer displays on hover. Is there a fix for this?

I’ve used your theme to create website www.manahrana.si but I can’t seem to find a function how to set 1 product per row under categories on mobile (https://manahrana.si/k/zdrav-obrok/). A friend of mine did a similar site called https://vibrimed.eu/, also with your theme, but his shop has 1 product per row on mobile. I know my support ended, but I never asked anything and I can not find a way to fix this.

Hey! Reporting a bug: If you set padding on row in % rather than PX and have Parallax enabled, on MOBILE the padding does not display. On desktop it does. This means instead of % I have to use PX to ensure there is padding between top of row and content on mobile. This is kinda annoying cos % is so much more flexible than a fixed PX. x

most of the rows in the demos are using % padding – are you seeing this across the board? So far testing on an Iphone X/GS7 I haven’t been able to replicate, what device/browser are you using and could you also share your URL if you’re not seeing the same behavior on the demos?
