It is important to create backup before doing any update, as described in theme documentation on how to update theme (we really recommend you to read this if you haven’t yet).

Actually, doing an update (if you do it properly) would not disabling plugins nor remove theme options. It could be because the uploaded in the different folder, so yes the settings would be different because WordPress recognized it as a new theme. Could you confirm the previous and new theme folder is the same?

I work with over 5o themes, this was not the first time I update a theme, there was issue when I replaced the old files with new updated theme…to help you more I am using RTL language wordpress core ..with your RTL theme, it did not create any new folder or replaced the theme name, I am not using child theme!

So, you should be aware that creating a backup is a must before doing any update, even thought you not read our documentation?

May I know the exact method you upload the theme? Did you upload it to WordPress Administration panel? Just to be sure, the theme folder was the same. I suggest you to ask your hosting provider if there is any backup created before doing this thing happened.

Regular related posts will go at the bottom of the post content. Otherwise, the inline related posts will go inline on the post content. With inline related posts content, we’ve been provided an option to insert the inline related posts on the certain number of paragraph and choose random position option. For more detail you can check all the option on the Customizer > JNews : Single Post Option > Related Post Option.

We add inline related posts feature to extend the engagement time with your audience while promoting your other articles and it will drastically increase page views.

At the moment we don’t have shortcode for inline related post. We will consider adding this feature to further theme update.

You can try to go edit this file “wp-content/themes/jnews/class/Sidefeed/Sidefeed.php” then find this function “generate_side_feed_content” and you just need to change the h2 tag on the post title (jeg_post_title) with your need.

Actually, for the homepage with Landing Page template, the page title will disable by default, it’s why their tools can’t find the h1 tag on your homepage. You can try to add an h1 tag and insert your page title or site name then hide it by using CSS code.

Or if you want to change the post title tag, try to go edit this file ”/wp-content/themes/jnews/class/Module/Block/Block_NUMBERBLOCK_View.php” and find “jeg_post_title”.

Jegtheme thank you, I have tried everything I could but I didn’t see this particular line wp-content/themes/jnews/class/Module/Block/Block_NUMBERBLOCK_View.php “i think you need to recheck this dir. I spent 2days looking into the source code one after the other. I hope I can get this fix soon. However, you can help me with the particular set of html & css code to insert into my page title. i don’t know much about coding.

Change the NUMBER with the actual module number you use. For example, if you want to replace JNews Module 1, so the file that responsible is: Block_1_View.php.

If you already using child theme, just update the parent theme (jnews) and the required plugins as well. You are safe to update, but it’s always good to have a backup before doing any update.
