Hello! How I can change main blog page layout (assigned in setting panel) to fully custom layout. I like to use of one demo blog page Blog Ultimate as my main blog page. Is it possible? Pls advice.

You can’t assign the “posts page” in settings > reading to use a custom page template such as the blog landing – that posts page setting is for your blog archive. The settings for that can be altered in the Salient options panel > blog tab. You can easily set a menu link to lead to a page template such as the blog ultimate landing called “blog” though.

I’m using the Material skin and can’t figure out how to change the font color for the header search box. It’s currently white on white so users can’t see what they are typing. I’m not sure what to target in CSS to change this, as nothing I’ve tried has worked.

In the Salient options panel > header navigation > logo/general styling select “custom” for your header color scheme and ensure your header font color is not set to white. If it isn’t, can you please share your URL in regards so I can take a look?

That is kind of what I was afraid of…I need the header navigation items to be in white. I was hoping there would be a way to set it so just the text box content would be a different color. Or is there a way to change the background color for the header search box? I can always change to a different skin but I prefer Material. Thanks for your help!

The search header BG inherits the Header Background color – what do you have that set to since your text is set to white?

The header background is not set to white. It’s a dark orange. On other skins, this works just fine but on Material, for some reason the search header BG is white.

When you click on the video on the homepage the light-box sporadically jumps around. Can you fix this? http://able-financial.com/ It’s not a plug-in issue.

This is a confirmed browser level bug with the latest Chrome – it occurs because of how the browser is rendering box shadows. To fix it for now before they patch it, add this into the custom css box in your Salient options panel:
.mfp-iframe-scaler iframe, .mfp-iframe-scaler > div.video, .mfp-iframe-scaler > div.video .mejs-container {
box-shadow: none!important;
}

1. You can use the “responsive options” tab when editing your columns to select what width they should display on every viewport
2. The masonry sizing is already disabled for smartphones, are you referring to tablet views?

Pre-purchase quesiton. Can this be used as a directory / review site? Namely a review site where the listing can have reviews for individual sub-services as opposed to reviews for the single listing?

When I open the page and mouseover the menu it opens, but when I go out of it and try to mouse over it doesn’t open. One other thing is that my media gallery custom link doesn’t work. What I meant is if you go to http://dev.bloxbuilt.com/design/. I want some of these thumbnails to point to custom link when clicked.

Anyone starting to have bother with this theme? This has been my all time favourite but recent;y things have started to fail. I had a site that had problems with WooCommerce throwing a 500 and after updating Salient to its very latest version, I now only have a white screen and spinning preloader. Any ideas? Have you checked your server error log yet to see what the internal server error being reported is? If you don’t know where the error log is, your hosting company will be able to assist. Could you also share your URL in regards so I can take a look at the front end in the meantime?

- Also I used css you provided for other customer which changes fa-vk to fa-imdb and was able to have imdb icons. Could you tell me if there’s a way to reorder social icons?
- Lastly, if I were to change the order of icons on php file manually, I saw social icon codes in footer.php file. But I couldn’t find the code for social icons in the header.php file. Which php file has the social icon codes for the header?

The fullscreen header sets its own mobile font sizes based on reducing the desktop version by a certain %, this is because the fullscreen allows for more room than regular page headers. To override this with cs, use:

Hi, The theme demos show a bunch of button demos, but the Visual Composer Button element just supports a few types of buttons. All of them are rounded. There’s no item where I can define if I want a round, rounded, or square button. Can you please help? Thanks!

Hi! I´m having some issues overriding css rules from responsive.css Some changes are not working, even using !important.
I´m using child theme and I´m queuing the default child theme style.css and a custom.css
Both are working fine but I want to make sure that these 2 css are the last ones to be loaded. Can you help me? I´m not having mayor problems but I´m stuck and I don´t want to modify responsive.css

You can use the normal category widget in WP to list your blog categories in a sidebar if desired, however there’s no dropdown functionality for them – they will all appear nested
