How do I change the default gallery layout? For example I have added a gallery via the Add Media button into this portfolio item: http://spacedoutspace.wpengine.com/portfolio-item/simple-gallery/ ...how would I change this layout? What if I wanted it to be the Pinterest Masonry layout or the Modern Masonry layout? I will probably be bugging you guys with lots of questions and fixes, so if you want me to edit certain theme files and copy them over to the child theme, I’m comfortable doing that. I know my way around WP core and can copy and paste code no problem. Can write it a little too. Might save you time down the road if you just show me where to edit instead of having to change my theme files for me. Also, any changes you make to my theme please copy those changes files over to the child theme so they don’t get overwritten in future updates. Thanks!

According to your question about gallery layout style. If you want to change the style of gallery layout please add pictures via page options lower. There you will able to add images and also there are four styles for the gallery but it works if you use add image button slightly higher. According to your question about edit certain theme files. You can use child theme it was created for it

I don’t think you’re understanding my question: if I want to apply a different gallery layout to the default WP gallery, how do I do that? Like in your portfolio pages there are built in gallery option (4 options right) well how do I apply one of those options to the default gallery layout? I can include screenshots if you need.

Now let me explain what is happening: When my client syncs her LR to WP, if I setup the WP/LR Sync plugin’s settings in a certain way I can set it that when my client publishes a LR collection it will automatically create a new portfolio item in your theme. The LR keywords automatically become portfolio tags. If there is a LR folder is automatically becomes a portfolio category. This all works! I can also set it that the LR collection will automatically create a gallery inside the portfolio item, like in this screenshot: http://spacedoutspace.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Staging-Site-Sofia-Gallery-Backend.png. But this automatic gallery only has one style, the default style created by your Sofia Gallery, shown here in your Fox Themes Shortcodes page: http://spacedoutspace.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Fox-Themes-Shortcode-Page.png. I’m sorry but you’re still not understanding my question! By default your theme applies the Justified Gallery and I’m asking how to change that default behaviour? I do NOT want the justified gallery, your theme turned it on and I’m asking how to CHANGE that. I’ve played around with your theme extensively now, so just assume I know how to use VC, shortcodes etc. I’m asking how to turn off the default justified gallery. Please read my previous question carefully and look at all the screenshots. I’m sure you’re busy, but I shouldn’t have to ask the same question so many times to get the answer!

I’m starting to get really frustrated with your support! I haven’t had any fixes done yet or proper responses from your developers. You keep answering my questions completely wrong, like you don’t even know what I’m asking and that means I am just wasting my time asking again and again. It’s clear to me that the support staff are NOT developers and not even good at communication or just basic support. Start acting like professionals and get one of the developers to help with questions in the comments section, because at this point you’re just embarrassing yourself. If I don’t get some fast and professional support before the weekend I’m going to give your theme a one star rating. Things don’t work in the theme, you lied it’s not completely compatible with the WP/LR Sync plugin, and you have setup certain parts of the theme in a way that makes me totally locked into your very limited design and settings. There is so little flexibility! I’m asking how to change the bloody Justified Gallery layout that you have added to WP, NOT the Visual Composer or Shortcodes that can be added to pages. This is NOT an issue with the WP/LR Sync plugin, this is an issue with your theme! Let’s review it step-by-step:
- You added images by WP/LR Sync plugin and we can see it here http://prntscr.com/jdpwpo
- This portfolio has default style, similar to Sofia shortcode’s style http://prntscr.com/jdpxsr, BUT there is no connection. FYI, Sofia shortcode and this portfolio don’t have any relation.
- You want to change the style of the created portfolio.
There is the issue:
This plugin adds the images in the default text area. If you want to change the style of them you need to add it here http://prntscr.com/jdpzyu OR add it by one of our shortcodes (detailed instruction you can find above or in our manual).
Unfortunately, as this plugin doesn’t add images in right place you can not change the style. Also, as was mentioned, this is third-party plugins and we can’t edit the code and change its functionality.

Thank you! It’s nice to finally get a clear response. The thing is, I like your theme but there are some glaring issues:
1. The portfolio tag taxonomy doesn’t work properly, when you view a portfolio tag on the frontend it links to an empty Blog page, not the portfolio item it is linked to. So that needs to be fixed. I’ve submitted a ticket and I’m in touch with support, but they are taking a long time to fix what should be a simple fix. And this shouldn’t have been broken or incorrectly coded from the start! It’s a post_type taxonomy and it doesn’t make sense why it leads to the blog instead of to the portfolio post_type. So please get on your support staff to fix that and add the fix to the next theme update.
2. I am NOT new to website building and using Themeforest themes. I am very familiar with VC and shortcodes. What took so long to explain (1 week!), is that this theme adds a justified gallery style layout to WP, and those justified gallery settings (viewable in Settings > Justified Gallery) are styling the default WP gallery. Why I want to use the default gallery (instead of shortcodes) is because if I setup the WP/LR Sync plugin correctly, I can have it work that my client’s LR collections can automatically create a new portfolio item for each collection, add keywords to that portfolio as tags and the best part is that the LR collection images will automatically be turned into a default WP gallery inside the editing area of the portfolio item. This makes it very easy for my client to add/edit/maintain her collections/galleries. She doesn’t need to play around with shortcodes. This is really ideal for UX for my client so I’m pushing for this setup to work. But so far it’s taken me a week just to explain to your support team that the portfolio tags don’t work (even when the WP/LR Sync plugin is deactivated) and I would like the Justified Gallery settings being applied to the default WP gallery to be changed to a masonry grid instead.
I appreciate you taking the time to write me yourself, and I hope I’ve made my goals completely clear.

Regarding your first issue, I Will get in touch with support on Monday and have a look together with them. It should be a really easy fix if that’s caused by our theme or our plugins.
Regarding second question, would you mind to tell us which type of gallery would you like to be implemented for ex. Grid or Masonry in order to implement it for default WP gallery, otherwise to implement all our galleries that we’ve in the shortcode it will take much more time.

Fox-Themes I have not heard from support at all about the Portfolio Tag issue. This is not a request, this is a serious bug in your theme that is impacting my workflow! Honestly, I’m so tired of waiting for your support to catch up, this is really terrible support and customer service. If I do not receive at least an update or a response on this issue, I am contacting Envato for a refund. And if that doesn’t work I’m still definitely giving your theme a one star terrible rating. So here’s your last chance to actually serve the customer. I’ll give you until Friday to solve this issue of the portfolio tag taxonomy not working properly.

Yeah well I’m frustrated! Wouldn’t you be, if your work had been delayed 2 weeks because of this? I’m trying to work out the best system for my client, visually as well as technically, and I can’t because I’m waiting for these issues to be fixed. I’ve purposefully left the WP/LR Sync plugin deactivated so that your support team would stop blaming that plugin for the portfolio tag issue. Now I’ve just received another email from your support team saying this: “As I mentioned we’re still working on your issue. It’s hard to solve this issue, because of that option, it doesn’t provide in our theme and you can see this on our preview. Anyway, we try to reproduce on our side your tags and try to review this issue. So, please describe me step-by-step how you created your tags, how you created your portfolio, how you connected them and how you created it on the front end. It’s essential to describe in the details, cause there is depend on each small step. BTW, I can’t see anymore on your website the page with tags. Look forward to hearing from you.” Not very clear English so it’s hard to understand them completely, wouldn’t you agree? I am not going to walk them through the process, obviously I created the portfolio and tag in the normal way. This has gone way too far, I should have requested a refund last week when I had already gotten the sense that this theme was going to be a nightmare. Forget about updating my theme, just leave it be. Now how do I request a refund? Please point me in the direction with a link. I’m sorry to say that despite the fact that you are a good communicator and are clearly trying to be helpful, but this theme and my experience with your support team, really do deserve one star. When you have set an external link on your portfolio, that’s not all. It works like this: when on another page you choose a shortcode which, for example, displays a list of your portfolio and chooses not to redirect you to a detailed portfolio, when you click on the portfolio where you put an external link then you will be redirected to this link.

The Gallery with Left Filter VC element: how do you tag the images so they are filterable? Like how do you add filters to the filter sidebar?

The main thing missing from your gallery options and designs is the ability to mix and match, like if I want Pinterest Masonry style or Modern Masonry style I’m stuck with the hover option, I can’t choose my preference. Any plans to add that kind of hover effect flexibility in future updates?

Sorry I have a few more questions:
1. I’ve created a portfolio item that has my three LR keywords linked to it as tags. But when I click on one of those tags and view it on the frontend, this is how the page displays: http://spacedoutspace.wpengine.com/portfolio-tag/festivals/ ...not very useful!
2. Is there a sidebar option for Portfolio pages? I can’t seem to find a way it could be enabled.
3. When I use the built in Portfolio Gallery it’s fine, but if I want the Whizz VC Gallery options, like on pages using VC, many of the Custom theme’s VC elements aren’t showing up. Is it possible to enable these elements for portfolios? I have already gone into VC settings and enabled it for all post types.

I sent you a support request for this. Basically when I add a gallery into a portfolio item using the Add Media button built into WP, then the extra text (from the Description field) appears. But if I add a gallery into a Portfolio item via the Add Images (Portfolio details) section then that extra text doesn’t show up. I have some questions:
1. You can see here: http://spacedoutspace.wpengine.com/home-minimal-gallery/ that I have added Keywords to the right sidebar. I have purchased the WP/LR Sync plugin from Meow Apps, installed it into my Lightroom and synced some photos and keywords with WP. I’ve also installed the free WP/LR Sync plugin for WP. It’s all working ok, but when I click on a Keyword in the right sidebar (page link above) the keyword link takes me to this page: http://spacedoutspace.wpengine.com/keyword/festivals/ and as you can see it’s not a very useful page! From what I understand, the keywords are essentially Portfolio Tags (that’s how I’ve set it up), so why don’t these keywords link to the images that they are tagged to?
2. There’s no widget for Portfolio Categories, only for regular categories (blog posts). How do I create a widget for Portfolio Categories? I DON’T want a Tag Cloud for the Categories, it doesn’t display well and gives me virtually no visual options in terms of styling.

1. I see what you need, but unfortunately, this function depends on the plugin. This plugin isn’t developed by us and we can’t implement this feature. Also, the author of this plugins confirmed that this feature is out of the scope of this plugin.

Hi there, I have a few pre-sale questions:
1. In this gallery in the demo: http://wp.themedemo.co/whizz/home-minimal-gallery/ you can see that if you scroll to the bottom of the page so all the images are loaded, that there is an image that is breaking out of the layout on the bottom right side. Is this fixed in the actual theme?
2. Same demo page: http://wp.themedemo.co/whizz/home-minimal-gallery/ if you click on an image the photo viewer is excellent, but the thumbnails at the bottom are sort of stretched or distorted. Can this be fixed or is it fixed in the current version of the theme?
3. Are all your gallery options in your demo available in pages, posts and portfolio items? For example, the minimal gallery (masonry style) is lovely, can I use it everywhere across the entire website and all post types?
4. Besides the Lightroom Sync capability, what would you say are the main differences between this theme and your Napoli theme? Because they look quite similar.
5. My client will have 7 sections clickable from the Home page. Within each section will be sub-sections which are like albums with titles and short descriptions, and within each of these albums will be a masonry style image gallery. But my client wants to be able to have an intuitive navigation system between all galleries. So if I create each gallery as a portfolio item, and create categories and tags for each portfolio item, do you think this is a good way to link between galleries and create a good nav system in a right sidebar? And could this system sync up with Lightroom seamlessly?

how can I shut down, in the blog, that below my post other posts are visible..? I cant find it in the settings…
And are there any tips to speed up my website? I think i should / could be a bit faster for my visitors..
